Chapter 168 The God of Konoha Who Controls the Spatula

Chapter 168 The God of Konoha Who Controls the Spatula

After the memorial service, they all suggested going to Kakashi Hatake's house for a meal. Sensing that they were worried about him and were grieving alone, Kakashi Hatake reluctantly agreed, feeling a sense of gratitude he didn't want to admit.

Haruko, who was watching Kakashi Hatake fry fish, questioned, "Is what Kakashi makes edible?"

Nohara Rin tugged at her sleeve slightly, "That's impolite, Haruko."

Haruko realized her mistake and immediately asked politely, "Kakashi, is what you made edible?"

"..."

Kakashi Hatake raised the spatula in his hand and waved it. Only after seeing Haruko quickly hide behind Obito Uchiha did he continue frying the fish with satisfaction.

Obito Uchiha raised his hand to protect her, then glanced at Kakashi Hatake, who was a head taller than him and standing on the wooden bench... Seeing that his momentum had weakened, Obito decided to use sheer numbers and immediately raised his voice.

"Haruko was just asking a reasonable question, you're not allowed to bully her!"

Speechless at Obito's overprotective behavior, Kakashi Hatake began to regret agreeing to let them come to his house.

Why worry about making yourself uncomfortable? Their arrival is what will make you feel the most uncomfortable!

Rin Nohara chuckled wryly as she tried to smooth things over, "Alright, alright, judging by Kakashi's posture, he must cook often. Let's just sit back and wait for dinner!"

At Nohara Rin's urging, they all sat back down at the table and waited for Hatake Kakashi to start the meal. Only Haruko shamelessly stood next to him, supervising the meal as it was being eaten, and taking the opportunity to learn how to fry fish up close.

"I'm starting!" ×3

They tore off a small piece of fish and put it in their mouths to taste it. Nohara Rin was the first to praise, "Kakashi's fried fish is really delicious!"

Obito Uchiha chewed it carefully, frowned, and commented with prejudice, "It's so-so."

Haruko, adopting an air of expertise, echoed him, "Mhm!"

"...If you don't like it, don't eat it." Kakashi Hatake moved the plate towards himself, a little annoyed.

Unexpectedly, he managed to anger him. Obito Uchiha grinned mischievously and casually said something that made him even angrier, "Don't you know that chefs need to listen to opinions?"

Haruko chimed in like a sycophant, "Mhm!"

Kakashi Hatake clenched his fist, and amidst Rin Nohara's panicked expression, the intensity in his eyes clashed fiercely with Obito Uchiha's.

Kakashi Hatake said, word by word, "If you're so capable, then come and get me."

Before Obito could retort, Haruko suddenly slammed her hand on the table, startling everyone.

Her eyes gleamed with eager anticipation, and she excitedly suggested, "I'll go!"

"Are you sure you can handle this? Don't hurt yourself!" Obito Uchiha hovered around Haruko, who was standing on the wooden stool, anxiously watching her every move, afraid that she would get splashed with oil.

Rin Nohara and Kakashi Hatake also stood by, waiting, determined to snatch her away the moment the fumes exploded.

"Haruko, shall we go eat? Let's not try it..." Nohara Rin's voice gradually softened under Haruko's serious expression.

"I'm going to take away Chef Kakashi's title!" Haruko solemnly declared her goal.

Obito Uchiha's lips twitched, and he exposed her: "This should be your first time cooking, right?"

"Huh?" Nohara Rin exclaimed.

Kakashi Hatake covered his face in anguish. He had known that Haruko Uchiha was an idiot, yet he had argued with her. He must have been an idiot too.

Words cannot express all that Kakashi Hatake could say, and in the end, he could only utter his lowest hope: "Please don't blow up my kitchen."

"Don't worry, I'll make it up to you with Obito!" Haruko promised confidently.

"What!" Obito Uchiha exclaimed in disbelief.

The good news is that Kakashi Hatake's kitchen is intact; the bad news is that the fried fish Haruko served actually looks pretty good.

The three of them looked at Haruko's fried fish on the table, which looked almost as good as Kakashi Hatake's, and swallowed hard.

Kakashi Hatake glanced at them cautiously. "Hey, who wants to try first?"

Nohara Rin silently glanced at Uchiha Obito. Upon receiving her gaze, Uchiha Obito froze. He wanted to look at the person next to him, but only saw Haruko's expectant starry eyes.

Under her expectant gaze, Obito Uchiha hardened his heart, picked up a piece of fish and chewed it with a pained expression, like a warrior cutting off his own arm.

"How was it? How was it?" Haruko asked her first customer eagerly.

Under the tense gazes of the three, Obito Uchiha cried out in despair, "My sense of taste is malfunctioning! I actually think it tastes pretty good!"

Unexpectedly, he gave such a positive review. Nohara Rin and Hatake Kakashi exchanged glances, took a bite, and were surprised. It was indeed very delicious.

Nohara Rin didn't hold back her gratitude for surviving the ordeal, "Haruko, you're amazing!"

Fearing she might do something even more astonishing, Kakashi Hatake added, "It's really quite good."

"Hmph!" Haruko suddenly stood up, hands on her hips, and laughed loudly, "I am the god of Konoha who controls the spatula!"

"..." Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha both fell silent, a rare occurrence.

Nohara Rin clapped for her very kindly, "Haruko is amazing!"

Despite saying that, Kakashi Hatake was still struggling with the thought while eating. How could that idiot who was cooking for the first time possibly make something better than him? He must have stolen his cooking skills!

Having finally found an acceptable reason, Kakashi Hatake nodded in deep agreement.

Haruko leaned over and whispered to Obito Uchiha next to her, "Kakashi seems to be really upset."

"Such a fragile heart, Kakashi is no match for me!"

Obito Uchiha was incredibly proud that Haruko's various manipulations had honed his mind into a powerful being.

As Kakashi saw them off at the door, he put his hands in his pockets and sighed that they were finally leaving.

Haruko looked regretful, then patted his shoulder, "Kakashi, don't miss us too much, you'll see us again at school!"

Obito Uchiha immediately pulled her over, glared at Kakashi Hatake, and said, "You'd better not think about her!"

Mediator Rin Nohara stepped in again, saying, "Come on, can't you two calm down a bit?"

"I won't think about her, you two idiots."

Kakashi Hatake glanced at Haruko, who was being held in Obito Uchiha's arms and giving him a thumbs-up, and couldn't bear to look at her.

Returning to the clean table and sitting down, Kakashi Hatake listened to the faint dripping sound from the sink, somewhat puzzled as to why he felt a sense of loss.

Looking at the empty room, he muttered in bewilderment, "They're practically parents supervising delinquent children..."

Perhaps because they were mentioned, Kakashi Hatake felt his disappointment lessen somewhat.

Obito Uchiha, who could only breathe fire; Rin Nohara, who gently apologized; and... Haruko Uchiha, who told him not to miss them.

You'd better not think about her!

Obito Uchiha's warning suddenly rang in his ears, and Kakashi Hatake snapped out of his daze and quickly jolted his thoughts out of their reverie.

Wait a minute, what does it have to do with that idiot Obito who he thinks he is?

Kakashi Hatake realized that he had indeed been influenced by an idiot.

Finally, in the empty room, Kakashi Hatake's clumsy attempt to change the subject echoed, "When will Daddy be back..."
