Chapter 19 Sasuke's Aura
After school, the three children, as usual, walked to the school gate and then separated to go home.
Sasuke Uchiha had been struggling internally the whole way. Seeing that the two of them were about to leave after saying goodbye, he hesitated and called out to them, "Um..."
Haruko and Naruto stopped in their tracks, holding hands, and turned to look at him.
Taking a deep breath, Uchiha Sasuke stared at Hayama Haruko and asked, "Would you like to come to my house for dinner today?"
"Huh?"
Haruko's eyes widened in surprise at the thought of Sasuke's arrogant words, and she hesitantly asked him for confirmation, "Are you inviting us?"
Sasuke Uchiha pursed his lips, his tone tinged with a hint of puzzlement, "...Anyone else?"
Naruto, no longer holding back, exclaimed in surprise, "Sasuke, are you possessed by a demon?!"
"..." Sasuke Uchiha suppressed his anger, constantly telling himself not to argue with an idiot.
"Naruto, that's rude." Haruko gently tugged at his hand, then added under Sasuke's dark expression, "Even though Sasuke is acting strangely today, you can't say that."
Uchiha Sasuke: ...
That's enough, he's taking back his invitation!
Thinking it would deepen their relationship, Haruko quickly agreed before Sasuke Uchiha stormed off.
It seems her plan to foster friendship among the main characters is progressing faster than expected. Even Sasuke Uchiha, who is usually as cold as an ice cube, has taken the initiative to extend an invitation, which means he must truly consider Naruto Uzumaki a close friend.
Haruko Hayama, who completely misunderstands the tsundere cat, is full of fighting spirit: her plan to escape the protagonist circle can begin the final step!
Naruto Uzumaki seems to really like Sasuke Uchiha's backyard, often frolicking on the lush green lawn.
He talks about cultivating himself, but he's often distracted by butterflies or insects that suddenly appear.
If he catches an interesting-looking insect, he will excitedly run over to show it to them.
But after noticing that Haruko's face was unusually pale and her smile was forced, his hobby turned to catching butterflies.
After carefully covering the beautiful butterfly with his hand, Naruto would jog over, panting, and wait for Haruko to show a curious expression before opening his palm to reveal the butterfly about to take flight.
Usually, when Naruto opens his closed hands, the butterfly will immediately fly away, but the two of them will look up with smiles as they watch its wings flutter in the sunlight.
A sarcastic comment came from nearby: "At this rate, he'll have to wait until his next life to become a ninja."
When Naruto hears Haruko's greeting, he will walk slowly unless he is in a hurry, and his attention will be drawn to other things along the way.
Haruko wasn't in a hurry in the morning. She just sat quietly to the side of Ei, watching his little actions with a smile.
Uchiha Sasuke sat beside her, subtly tracing her profile out of the corner of his eye.
After Naruto Uzumaki walked to a distance from them, he would run towards Haruko Hayama, gesturing wildly as he recounted his discovery, mostly in meaningless exclamations.
Uchiha Sasuke couldn't help but want to tell him to shut up, but Haruko listened very carefully and not only wasn't annoyed, she would reply to him in a coaxing tone.
Looking at Naruto's silly smile, Sasuke felt inexplicably annoyed.
Sometimes, when his attention was drawn to the interactions between the two of them, Sasuke Uchiha felt that this was a harmonious atmosphere that belonged only to the two of them and that he couldn't intrude upon.
Realizing he had such thoughts, Uchiha Sasuke shook his head in annoyance.
He only agreed to play with them because he felt sorry for Haruko Hayama; how could he possibly have such a childish and embarrassing thought?
Thinking about his promise to be friends with Sasuke Uchiha, he became depressed again.
At first, I was distracted by their expectant expressions and momentarily lost my composure, blurting out the words of agreement. Then I immediately regretted it.
However, considering that Haruko had good grades and was also good at ninjutsu, and could be considered someone in the class who was qualified to be his friend, he stopped caring about it.
He then deeply understood the consequences of not caring.
Almost every day, Haruko would bring Naruto Uzumaki to visit him in the morning. They would chat, and she even shamelessly followed him to his home as a guest.
When Sasuke Uchiha overheard his brother and mother talking and saying, "It's so nice that the house is so lively now," he pouted and thought to himself, "What's so good about those two noisy guys?"
However, he didn't realize that the corners of his lips were turned up, clearly enjoying himself while stubbornly insisting that they had insisted on dragging him along.
But he noticed that Haruko's attitude towards them hadn't been as warm as before lately.
Perhaps it was Sasuke Uchiha's imagination, but he vaguely sensed that Haruko Hayama was pushing Naruto Uzumaki towards him, and that he was about to pull away.
He thought about it again and felt that the idea was a bit absurd. It was more likely that Naruto Uzumaki had offended her in some way.
That incredibly stupid idiot, knowing she was a patient, still made her unhappy.
So, Sasuke Uchiha, in a fit of kindness, extended an invitation, deciding to give Naruto Uzumaki a chance to appease her.
Naruto Uzumaki, who was unjustly blamed: ?
"What's so interesting about him? Why are you always staring at him?" Uchiha Sasuke asked, gazing at her profile and voicing his long-held question.
Haruko pointed to herself in surprise, "Do I do it very often?"
"Hmm." Seeing her oblivious expression, Uchiha Sasuke was slightly displeased.
"Hmm..." Haruko thought for a while before speaking, "It's probably Naruto's unique aura. Just looking at him makes me happy, and I feel a warm, sunny energy like the sun!"
"A unique temperament?"
"That's right. Look at Naruto, he's always full of confidence no matter what he does, even when he encounters setbacks. He gets back on his feet right away after being sad. Just looking at him fills you with hope, doesn't it?"
“Perhaps this is the behavior pattern of idiots.” Sasuke Uchiha crossed his arms, disagreeing with her words.
Noticing his unhappiness, Haruko smiled at him and said, "Sasuke, you have a special kind of charm too."
"Me? What kind of temperament do I have?" Upon hearing her mention him, Uchiha Sasuke sat up slightly.
"Sasuke is very smart, although he always has a cold face, speaks bluntly, and doesn't like to tell the truth..."
"Hello!"
“But,” Haruko Hayama continued, ignoring his sour face.
"Sasuke is very responsible and always keeps his word. He also teaches Naruto ninjutsu that he is not good at. He is considerate and thoughtful."
"Sasuke's temperament... is probably like the wind. His voice sounds cold, but only those who have been touched by it know that it is gentle."
As dusk settled, the afterglow of the sunset bathed her in a soft glow, softening her smile.
Sasuke Uchiha stared at her intently, thinking to himself that she wasn't that ugly when she smiled.
