Chapter 243 Why Was He Angry?
Not long ago, Kushina went to the hospital and found out she was pregnant. Unless necessary, she stayed at home, which saved them time from looking for her. They went straight to Kushina's house.
After briefly explaining Nohara Rin's situation and receiving reassurance from Kushina, Haruko hurriedly went out to report to the Hokage.
Rin Nohara, who has a monster inside her, and Kushina, the pregnant Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, are both in grave danger.
Kushina needed to perform a second seal on Rin Nohara in a safe and secluded place, but the incident happened suddenly, and the anxious Minato Namikaze couldn't think of a suitable place.
“Let’s go to the Nara family’s place. They have a clearing in their bamboo grove.” Haruko followed him a few steps away. “And the medicinal herbs we need can be replenished quickly.”
Minato Namikaze glanced at her with a puzzled look, then dispatched his subordinates to carry out her instructions.
Thanks to Haruko's early sealing, Kushina's second sealing went smoothly. After it was over, both Nohara Rin and Kushina were sent to the hospital for a detailed examination.
After confirming that his wife was alright, Minato Namikaze went to the ward and saw Haruko waiting at the door. He then went over and sat down next to her.
“They’re both doing well.” Minato Namikaze reassured her, then asked, a question he hadn’t previously shown in front of others, “How did you know there was an open space in the bamboo forest of Nara?”
"I found it when I was running around on the rooftops." Knowing he wouldn't investigate further, Haruko simply brushed it off.
As expected, Minato Namikaze couldn't help but chuckle. "I thought you were going to say you were going to Uchiha territory."
"I'm sensitive enough to know this, and I don't want the Uchiha to be dragged into a vortex of slander." Since it concerns the Nine-Tails, Haruko can't let the Uchiha become the target of public criticism again.
Minato Namikaze remained silent for a moment, his tone filled with melancholy, "Let's wait a little longer. Konoha will turn the Uchiha into swords in their hands."
"I trust you."
Minato Namikaze took it as encouragement, but still asked with interest, "Why?"
“Because you want to become, and will become, a good Hokage.” Haruko stared intently into those familiar azure eyes, adding, “In the future… you will also become a good father.”
Upon hearing what she said next, Minato Namikaze's expression softened, and he acknowledged her words.
...
Kakashi Hatake received the news that Rin Nohara and Haruko Uchiha had been kidnapped by Kirigakure only after everything had settled down. He rushed along the road without stopping for a moment.
He had just finished the Dark Division test in a hurry, but judging from the examiner's unpleasant expression before he left, he would probably have to try to retake the test.
"The secret service cannot have any weaknesses." The examiner's authoritative words echoed in my ears.
Even now, Kakashi Hatake still can't believe that the person who replied, "Important people only motivate me to become stronger," was himself.
Important people...
He was so engrossed in thinking that he almost bumped into the wall. He quickly dodged and turned a corner to focus on getting on his way.
After getting the room number from the hospital reception, Kakashi Hatake rushed up the stairs to his destination floor, only to find Obito Uchiha and Haruko interacting intimately in the distance.
"Does your head hurt? Are you injured? Or do you have any internal injuries?"
Obito Uchiha kept checking Haruko for injuries, but she pulled him away helplessly. He frowned and said, "No, we still need to get her checked again!"
"Alright, Obito, Tsunade said I'm fine. Can you calm your heart down?"
Unable to bear seeing her so indifferent to her own health, Obito grabbed her hand, his face serious and slightly anxious. "How can I not be worried? You almost didn't make it back!"
"But I'm back now..." Haruko's voice weakened amidst his accusatory gaze.
As she waved her hand in a conciliatory gesture, Obito Uchiha's anger dissipated, leaving only self-reproach. "If only I hadn't trained with that spiky-haired uncle, I should have stayed by your side and protected you like before."
"You can't stay by my side forever."
"How could it be impossible!"
They looked at each other in silence for a few seconds. Haruko's face showed guilt, while Obito Uchiha burst out with an even stronger accusation.
"Don't you want me anymore?!"
An unbelievable wail echoed down the corridor, and Haruko quickly covered his mouth after receiving strange looks from everyone.
"What nonsense are you talking about? This is a hospital, keep your voice down!"
Seeing the blush rising on her cheeks, a sense of embarrassment belatedly crept into Obito Uchiha's mind. After Haruko withdrew her hand, he didn't say anything more, pursed his lips, and his face was even more flushed than Haruko's.
Kakashi Hatake stood at the top of the stairs, quietly watching the two of them standing opposite each other, unable to hide their shyness.
For some reason, he suddenly felt lonely. Kakashi Hatake raised his hand and pressed it to his chest. Compared to loneliness, another strange, inexplicable, and indescribable emotion was more intense, which made him inexplicably annoyed.
This is wrong; he shouldn't be showing anger.
Seeing his two teammates getting along so well, he might have felt lonely because he couldn't participate, but getting angry was not the right thing to do.
Why is he angry? What is he angry about?
A bittersweet and swollen feeling filled his chest. No matter how hard he pressed his hand against his chest, he couldn't suppress the anger that seeped into every nerve, stimulating him to release it.
"Kakashi?"
Hearing that they had discovered him, Kakashi Hatake snapped out of his daze and pretended nothing was wrong as he walked toward them.
Obito Uchiha lightly punched him on the shoulder. "You bastard, you came without saying a word. What were you standing there like an idiot for?"
Ignoring his question, Kakashi Hatake looked at Haruko and asked, "How is she?"
"Kushina is fine, but she has a slight miscarriage. Rin is currently unconscious, but they say she will wake up in a day or two."
Seeing that she didn't continue, Kakashi Hatake patiently pressed on, "And you?"
"Me?" Haruko was taken aback, then waved her hand helplessly. "I'm fine, why are you worrying like Obito?"
"Hey! I called that caring about you, okay?" Uchiha Obito, whose good intentions were ignored, protested and then declared, "No way, starting tomorrow, no, starting now, I'm going to stay by your side every step of the way."
"Eh—I don't want to! If Obito doesn't train harder, he'll become the worst of the four of us."
"I won't!"
Watching them playfully bicker, Kakashi Hatake clenched his fist, his emotions, which he had managed to suppress, beginning to stir again.
He ignored the two of them, leaving behind the final words, "I'm going to check on Lin," before hastily departing from the space that belonged only to the two of them.
Watching his figure disappear behind the door, Obito Uchiha scratched his head, puzzled. "Kakashi didn't expect to be so worried about Rin."
Haruko, who had also witnessed this scene, gave a meaningful look. "Obito, what do you say..."
Their eyes met, and Obito Uchiha instantly understood what she wanted to say. He trembled with excitement and quickly covered his mouth at Haruko's shushing, leaving only his bright eyes showing.
"Right? Even someone as oblivious as you thinks so, then he must be right, right?" Haruko whispered gossipingly.
"What do you mean I'm thick-skinned!"
"Okay, okay, you're the most meticulous, you're like Obito made of water."
Seeing that she was being perfunctory and about to leave, Obito Uchiha hurriedly followed her, grabbing her hand to prevent her from breaking free.
"Wait for me! You promised I'd stay by your side every step of the way!"
"I already said no, Obito, hurry up and go train with Jiraiya!"
"I don't!"
