Chapter 67: Interview Trip, Jiraiya, one of the Legendary Sannin, makes an appearance.
"Kakashi-sensei, how many times do you want to watch 'Icha Icha Paradise' before you're satisfied?"
As Haruko ate her three-colored dumplings in the morning, she sighed when her gaze fell on the man leaning against the wall beside her, quietly reading a book.
Kakashi has absolutely no sense of self-awareness in front of children!
"This is a sacred relic; you can look at it countless times without getting bored." Kakashi Hatake sensed her accusation but chose to pretend he didn't see it.
After their previous mutual hurt, Kakashi Hatake stopped pretending in front of her and brazenly took out his romance novel to read, adopting an attitude of "if you can't bear to look, then don't look at me."
Haruko Hayama, who really couldn't do anything about him, took a vicious bite of the dumpling, turned her head, and saw two familiar figures in the distance.
She is the teacher of Kurenai Yuhi, Asuma Sarutobi, Shino Aburame, and Shikamaru Nara's class.
Seeing them walk over side by side, Kakashi Hatake closed his book and teased, "Hey you two, you seem to have a really good relationship."
Unexpectedly, she ran into them here. Kurenai turned her flushed face away and tried to find an excuse, "I just asked Anko to buy dumplings."
The only two listeners, Haruko Hayama and Kakashi Hatake, both gave a meaningful "Oh~".
As the sunset deepened the blush on her face, Haruko asked curiously, "When will Ms. Kurenai and Ms. Asuma get married?"
Seeing the burly Asuma scratching his head without explaining, Kurenai, enraged, strode up to her and angrily pinched her face.
"This is not a problem for children to care about!"
Sarutobi Asuma, glared at by his lover, chuckled awkwardly and changed the subject, "What are you doing here?"
“I’m here to buy offerings and wait for someone.” Kakashi Hatake said, then pointed to Haruko Hayama, who was fixing her hair next to him. “This girl is just here to eat dango.”
"Then I'll go buy some more."
After smiling politely at the two teachers, Haruko strode into the store, and as she passed Kakashi Hatake, she ruthlessly and precisely stepped on his foot.
Kakashi Hatake shuddered in pain in his foot and watched her go with a look of resentment.
"Girls who hold grudges like this won't be pretty."
From inside the dango shop came Haruko's retort, "That carefree Kakashi-sensei must have an absolutely stunning face under that mask, right?"
"..."
It was a rare sight to see Kakashi Hatake get into trouble, so Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yuhi couldn't help but laugh.
The shop was simply decorated, and two people who were wrapped up tightly sat on the seats near the door. Their unusual attire made Haruko Hayama wary.
In the sweltering heat, someone had wrapped themselves up so tightly that not a single inch of skin was exposed, their face completely hidden by the wide brim of a hat, making it impossible to see anything about them. Unless they were someone with something to hide...
That must be a member of the Aburame clan, right?
Thinking about Shino Aburame's outfit, Haruko Hayama found it somewhat amusing. The ninja world was like a hodgepodge, filled with both the normal and the strange.
"Boss, three skewers of dumplings, please."
Through the gap in the white veil hanging from the brim of his hat, Uchiha Itachi looked at the back of the girl sitting and waiting not far away, and stroked the cup in his hand, his expression unreadable.
"Kakashi, it's rare to see you here first." Sasuke Uchiha's voice came from outside the shop.
Upon hearing that it was him, Haruko took the packaged dumplings and turned to leave, only to find that the two had disappeared without a trace.
Strange person...
Haruko frowned slightly, lifted the curtain at the door and went out. "Kakashi-sensei, did you see two people who were wrapped up tightly come out?"
Unexpectedly, she was there too. Sasuke Uchiha, who had been standing with his hands in his pockets and a cold expression, quietly took his hands out and moved a little closer to her.
Kakashi Hatake, who saw through all of his reactions: ...Heh.
"No, what's wrong?"
"Nothing much, I just think those two are a bit strange." Since the teacher didn't notice anything wrong, Haruko Hayama stopped worrying and looked at Sasuke Uchiha beside her.
"By the way, Kakashi-sensei, you really know how to pick a place to wait for someone. Sasuke doesn't eat natto or sweet things."
Sasuke Uchiha, who had immediately turned his head away and pretended to look elsewhere when she looked over, found his eyes involuntarily following her after hearing her words.
"Oh, really?"
Kakashi Hatake gave a perfunctory reply, then winked at Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yuhi across from him. The two, whose expressions immediately turned serious, nodded and left the spot.
"When is Kakashi-sensei going to find us a teacher's wife?"
Lost in thought, Kakashi Hatake paused for a moment, then stared at her with deadpan eyes. "How's Haruko's taijutsu training going? Does she need to take it a step further?"
"...Kakashi-sensei should really focus on his own marriage. After all, without the advantage of youth, there's nothing left for a teacher."
As Sasuke watched the two of them exchange smiles, a sudden, sharp confrontation arose. Sasuke, who had already been leaning towards Haruko Hayama, stood silently for a moment and then moved even closer to her.
Kakashi Hatake: ...A guy who has no morals!
After the Chunin Exams ended, Haruko Hayama no longer had to endure the eighteen tortures of having her eyebrows made to look like an oversized man. This time, she simply came out to enjoy the air of freedom and happened to run into Kakashi Hatake, who was waiting for someone.
Now that Sasuke Uchiha, whom he had been waiting for, had arrived, he could go back to enjoying the world without Might Guy.
After saying goodbye, Haruko saw Naruto Uzumaki standing in front of a ramen shop in the distance as she walked down the street. And he... was only wearing his underwear.
Haruko Hayama didn't understand, and she was greatly shocked.
"Naruto? What kind of performance art is this?"
A familiar, clear voice came from behind him. Naruto's search for something froze. He didn't dare to turn around and hurriedly put his clothes back on.
"No! Haruko, don't get me wrong! I'm looking for ramen coupons, yes, ramen coupons!"
Naruto Uzumaki was finally dressed and wanted to breathe a sigh of relief, but when he turned around and saw Haruko Hayama trying hard to suppress her laughter, he choked on his words.
What is that sound?
It was the sound of his image shattering in Haruko's mind.
Seeing the golden retriever's ashen face and look of despair, Haruko coughed lightly twice and considerately offered him a way out, "I'm actually hungry too, how about we eat ramen together?"
Just as Naruto was about to pull himself together, he saw the three-colored dumplings she was carrying and instantly understood that she was taking care of his feelings. With tears in his eyes, he held his shattered pride in his hands.
While he was still immersed in his own world of self-pity, Haruko Hayama, unsurprised, ordered his favorite ramen.
Sure enough, once the ramen was served, Naruto Uzumaki, his face flushed with the fragrant steam, forgot all his worries and began to eat with gusto.
Welcome!
Jiraiya lifted the curtain and said, "I heard them talking about it and came to see what was going on. I didn't expect you to actually be eating ramen."
