Chapter 98 Death, Deafening

Chapter 98 Death, Deafening

The saying "two tigers cannot share one mountain" is a typical example of this kind of moral lesson.

The leader of Amegakure, Hanzo the Salamander, secretly colluded with Danzo Shimura of Konoha.

Danzo Shimura approached him in order to seize the Hokage position, while Hanzo of the Salamander, under Danzo's instigation, worried that his position would be taken away by the Akatsuki.

So Hanzo the Salamander ambushed Konoha's Roots and subordinates at the meeting place, intending to take the opportunity to eliminate the Akatsuki organization.

"Your presence is too much of a hindrance to me."

Hanzo the Salamander stood on the edge of the cliff, looking down at the two below. The edge of the cliff was surrounded by enemies who were ready to attack.

"Yahiko, as the leader, you should die here." Hanzo pulled out a kunai and held it to Konan's neck. "If you resist, this woman will die."

When the three of them arrived at the meeting place, they realized it was a trap.

Hanzo the Salamander secretly ambushed and kidnapped Minami, using her life as leverage, leaving the two of them like lambs to the slaughter.

"That red-haired guy." Hanzo turned and thrust the kunai forward. "Use this to kill Yahiko, and I'll spare your life and that woman's."

Konan cried out in terror, "Stop, Nagato! Don't worry about me, you two run!"

"Nagato." Yahiko forced himself to calm down and resolutely turned to the bewildered Nagato beside him. "Kill me."

Nagato stared blankly at the dilemma before him, his mind reeling, and he breathed heavily.

"Nagato!" Yahiko roared.

"Stop!" Xiao Nan cried out.

Hanzo urged, "Hurry up, does it matter if this woman dies?"

Nagato stared blankly ahead, stiffly pulling the kunai stuck in the ground. He took a deep breath, staring intently at the kunai in his hand that would decide his fate.

“Mi…”

Before Nagato could continue to hesitate, Yahiko suddenly rushed towards the kunai in Nagato's hand, pressed his hand down, and stabbed it into his own body.

Nagato was terrified, his eyes wide, while he could still hear Yahiko's relieved words.

"Together with Xiaonan...we must survive no matter what..."

Yahiko slowly collapsed, his body splattering blood mist in the rain.

When Haruko arrived in the morning, this was the suffocating scene she saw.

"Yahiko!" Konan cried out in anguish.

"You old bastard! What on earth are you doing to my three precious children?!" Haruko Hayama quickly formed hand seals, creating an illusion as she rushed towards them.

Hanzo the Salamander, not expecting anyone else to be present, narrowed his eyes and said loudly, "Make your move."

Countless kunai flew towards Haruko Hayama in the air. She released a thousand flying threads, which not only blocked the kunai but also threw them back at the enemy. While the others were busy knocking away the kunai, Haruko Hayama flew directly towards Hanzo the Salamander.

Hanzo the Salamander calmly took out a kunai and stabbed it directly at Konan in his hand.

But Haruko's white thread got tangled in his hand, making him unable to move. Seeing that she was about to get close, Hanzo the Salamander did not hesitate to step back a few meters away.

So Haruko landed early in the morning, shielded Minami, and prepared to take her away.

Seizing the moment, Hanzo the Salamander slammed his fist on the ground.

It turned out that Xiao Nan's surroundings had been filled with traps all along. At this moment, countless hidden explosive tags swept up from their feet and exploded in the instant that Haruko was shocked.

Smoke and flying rocks filled the air. Just as Hanzo the Salamander was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he was surprised to hear Haruko Hayama's voice coming from mid-air.

"Old Deng, are you still dreaming?"

Hanzo the Salamander realized something was wrong. His vision blurred, and the surrounding scenery began to fade away in a ripple.

If the ninjas next to him hadn't all suddenly turned into a mess, he wouldn't have realized that he had just been trapped in an illusion.

While Haruko was casting her illusion in the morning, Nagato and Jiraiya, who arrived later, rushed forward, one to save Konan and the other to fight off the enemy.

Fortunately, she decided to sneak a peek in the end, otherwise she would have definitely beaten Jiraiya, that cold-blooded hedgehog, to death!

Unfortunately, Haruko Hayama couldn't hold out for long in the illusion that encompassed so many people. Although Jiraiya summoned toads to fight against them, it could only buy them time.

While Nagato and Konan were engaged in battle, Haruko Hayama came to Yahiko's side and saw that he was pale and in great pain. Haruko's heart clenched.

"Don't be afraid, Yahiko, Jiraiya and I are here."

Even though she knew he couldn't hear her, Haruko Hayama still whispered through her tears.

The child who was once so full of life can now only lie silently on the ground...

Haruko gritted her teeth; for the first time, she truly wanted to kill all of them!

She carefully helped him up, and Haruko prepared to remove the kunai from his body. Just as he felt the pain and trembled, she exerted force directly.

After throwing the kunai she had taken out onto the ground, Haruko Hayama began to unleash a secret technique on him.

Hanzo the Salamander, who was being harassed by Jiraiya, noticed Haruko Hayama's actions in the distance, and his eyes widened in surprise.

Could it be... a ninjutsu capable of bringing the dead back to life?

Hanzo the Salamander never imagined that such a ninjutsu actually existed, but he knew he couldn't win over those he had already offended, so he could only seize the opportunity to get rid of them as soon as possible.

Seemingly sensing his thoughts, Jiraiya completely ignored the other minor figures and focused solely on him.

"Your opponent is right here!"

Although Jiraiya was struggling a bit, he still pretended to be nonchalant and made some harsh remarks.

Hanzo the Salamander sneered, "The Instantaneous Movement Technique."

To Jiraiya's astonishment, Hanzo the Salamander vanished from the spot.

Jiraiya quickly looked in the direction of Haruko Hayama, only to find that Hanzo the Salamander had teleported behind her!

puff--

In the instant her heart was pierced, Haruko thought that it was fortunate that Yahiko had been revived.

However, the moment she met Yahiko's gaze, who had just woken up, Haruko regretted letting the child see her like this.

"Haru... Haruko-neechan!!!"

Yahiko's agonizing screams echoed throughout the valley. Hanzo the Salamander, seeing that he had the upper hand, ordered everyone to retreat before Jiraiya could even arrive.

Yahiko had already prepared himself to sacrifice himself, but he never expected that it would be Haruko Hayama who actually died.

Her heart was pierced, a large hole was torn in her chest, and blood kept flowing from her mouth, gushing onto Yahiko's body.

Yahiko could only watch helplessly as she smiled one last time and covered her eyes with her hand.

Yahiko felt the warmth emanating from her palm; it was his own tears.

When he felt a weight on his face, he carefully pulled the hand covering his face down with trembling hands.

Haruko had already closed her eyes and was kneeling, with blood and rainwater splattering all over her body.

Jiraiya caught up behind her, saw her motionless figure, and reached out his hand but hesitated to touch her.

Nagato and Konan stood frozen in place. As Konan ran towards Haruko with a sob in her voice, Nagato suddenly revealed his Rinnegan, filled with resentment and anger, and charged towards the fleeing enemy.

"Summoning Technique: Demonic Statue of the Outer Path!"

Nagato quickly formed hand seals, and a humanoid golem, as large as a mountain, emerged from the ground. It had nine eyes, and its color and body resembled that of a dead tree. Ten pillar-like objects protruded from its back, and it roared skyward.

Jiraiya realized what he was doing and quickly shouted at him, "Nagato, you can't use that!"

At this moment, Nagato couldn't care less about anything; his heart was blinded by hatred.

A steel pipe-shaped black rod emerged from the front of the golem, and countless black rods like tree branches appeared on the rod, all of which directly pierced Nagato's back, causing even Nagato to groan in pain.

With the chakra absorbed from Nagato, the Gedo Mazo condensed a huge materialized chakra ball in its mouth, and then spewed out a purple dragon that reaped souls wherever it went, leaving no one alive.

It was still raining heavily. Nagato squinted and looked again at the glaring red in the distance.

The silence was deafening.
