Chapter 241 Madara's usual practice
Having studied the Yin Seal under Tsunade for some time, and having grasped the basics, Tsunade took Nohara Rin as her disciple and taught both of them.
Hidden in the shadows, eyes were fixed on the target cultivating in the open space. The dark golden pupils were lifeless and emotionless, as if they were born from nothingness, seemingly talking to themselves or having a conversation that spanned miles.
"Which of the two of them is it?"
"It must be a girl who wears a veil. I heard that she and Obito Uchiha are often seen together."
"It could be that short-haired girl? Isn't she Obito Uchiha's teammate? She always cares about Obito Uchiha."
"Which one should we arrest?"
"I don't know... If you ask me, we should just catch them all at once. Isn't that what Madara always does?"
"That makes sense."
The figure, entirely white, half human and half covered in thorns, quietly merged into the soil, communicating with its kind in a distant cave.
"There's another woman here, and with her abilities, this matter is a bit tricky."
"Just create some chaos to distract her."
"That's true, anyway, our goal isn't really kidnapping."
Their task is merely to gather intelligence; the actual execution must be entirely entrusted to the Hidden Mist ninjas they control, thus giving this secret plan a plausible appearance in the ninja world.
After several days of training, Tsunade realized that Haruko was right. Nohara Rin did have a talent for medicine. Although she wasn't exactly a genius, she was qualified to be her disciple.
Perhaps it was the temporary restriction of the Yin Seal that prevented the use of chakra, but Haruko's physical condition seemed to be quite good. At least Tsunade no longer heard her coughing sounds that were heart-wrenching and forcibly suppressed.
Despite studying it privately for a long time, Tsunade still couldn't find the root cause of her physical decline.
If Haruko hadn't taken the initiative to learn the Yin Seal from her this time, she wouldn't have realized that the use of chakra would accelerate the decline of her body.
All Tsunade could do now was keep an eye on her and prevent her from doing anything reckless. After all, Haruko had been training like crazy ever since she returned from Sunagakure, and her eagerness to make the most of every minute made it seem like something big was about to happen.
He had originally planned to take her out for a drink after the lesson, but news of an enemy invasion dampened Tsunade's spirits.
"You wait here, I'll go check it out."
As Tsunade disappeared from sight in a few steps, Haruko frowned. Although some time had passed since the end of the war, given the recovery status of various countries, why would anyone choose to invade Konoha at this point in time?
She couldn't help but take a few steps toward where Tsunade had left, wanting to see what had happened.
"Haruko!"
Rin Nohara's scream exploded behind her. Haruko, who also sensed the danger, quickly turned around and saw two tall ninjas wearing Mist-Hidden headbands grabbing Rin Nohara.
Without any hesitation, Haruko immediately formed hand seals and unleashed the "Ninjutsu: Stream Slash!"
Countless water droplets emerged from the soil and converged, forming several thin streams that struck the two men directly in the face. They dodged them, and the water crashed into the ground, carving a terrifying crack. Before they could regain their footing, another stream of water rushed towards them.
The long-haired man struggled to use ninjutsu to block, but the water flow seemed to sever everything with its force. His pupils contracted sharply, and he didn't even have time to react when the sharp blade severed his right arm.
"Aaaaaah—!"
As pain flared from the wound, the long-haired man clutched his remaining severed limb, and his screams made his companion take the mission a little more seriously.
The short-haired man's face darkened, and he clicked his tongue, "How could a brat have such strength?"
The little devil he was holding tightly was also struggling. Seeing the undiminished force of the water rushing towards him, the short-haired man twisted his hand and grabbed Nohara Rin by the neck to block her in front of him.
"Do you want to watch your teammates die?!" He revealed a fierce expression, his hand clenching tightly again and again.
The oppressive water flow paused, then splashed onto the ground, revealing Haruko, who had been using the water to conceal her approach. She stopped a meter away from the enemy, her eyes radiating an undisguised murderous intent.
Nohara Rin hung suspended in mid-air, her hands frantically clawing at the suffocating force, her voice breaking as she uttered, "Haru... Haruko... Go!"
Cold sweat trickled down his forehead and onto his clothes. The short-haired man's throat bobbed. Even though she was just a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl, she gave him the chilling killing intent of a seasoned warrior.
"Never mind that, let's go!" His companion's urging voice, tinged with a bloodthirsty roar, rang in his ears.
The short-haired man knocked the hostage unconscious and then left under his cover.
However, he didn't get much time. The short-haired man, who was moving through the forest, sensed the approaching presence behind him and quickened his pace.
He knew very well that if he was caught, he would die.
The short-haired man gritted his teeth, his muscles tense. At this moment, an elite ninja from Kirigakure only had the thought of escaping.
Who exactly assigned them the mission to capture two newly promoted Chunin brats?!
This is not the strength a Chunin should have!
Haruko, who was closely following the enemy, also had a slightly dark expression. Tsunade had just been called away on the grounds of enemy invasion, and then Kirigakure ambushed Nohara Rin. Judging from their initial plan, they probably wanted to capture her as well.
But why?
Her eye technique was not exposed. If it was a threat to Minato Namikaze, she and Rin Nohara would indeed be better choices than the more famous Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha.
But Haruko always felt that their purpose was not so simple.
Just as she caught up to a certain distance and thrust out the white line, several kunai flew out to block her attack.
Seeing his Kirigakure comrades rushing out to help, the short-haired man breathed a sigh of relief, labeled the veiled girl a "monster," and quickly left.
It wasn't her imagination after all.
After defeating the enemy reinforcements, Haruko's heart sank completely.
These people are strong enough to be considered Jonin of Kirigakure, or even elite Jonin, but they only came to capture two Chunin. Is it really necessary to send out ninjas of this strength?
Following the trail left by the fleeing enemy, they arrived at a sand dune area. The sandcastle that rose up in the center seemed to be their base, and several ninjas were patrolling outside the gate.
It's so strange, these marks seem to be telling her to go this way.
Thinking of quickly rescuing Nohara Rin and returning to Konoha to check on the situation, Haruko did not want to fight any longer and used an illusion technique to hide herself.
Using the protruding sand dunes to escape the enemy's patrol, she rushed into the cave and became annoyed by the complicated terrain before her. If it weren't for worrying about Nohara Rin inside, she would have loved to blow up the whole fortress.
This place always reminded her of the scene during the battle at Kannabi Bridge where Obito Uchiha was crushed under a boulder...
Haruko shook her head, focused on identifying the terrain, and finally found Nohara Rin's location.
