Chapter 19 A Contest

"Enough talk, bring it on!"

Zhou Zhizhi readily agreed to Wu Chi's request. Having been in this world for so long, she had seen people courting death, but this was the first time she had ever seen someone so eager to die.

Wu Chi and Zhou Zhizhi stared at each other, their auras surging. With a loud shout, Wu Chi leaped into the air, his sword flashing like a white dragon.

Not to be outdone, Zhou Zhizhi nimbly dodged the sword light and swung her fist directly at Wu Chi.

Fists and swords clashed, the wind howled, and sharpness radiated everywhere. After less than ten rounds, Zhou Zhizhi, who was not very strong, had to exert all her strength to defend against Wu Chi. She gradually began to feel her strength failing, and large beads of sweat kept sliding down their foreheads.

Wu Chi's swordsmanship gradually became chaotic.

Zhou Zhizhi didn't want to get entangled with Wu Chi any longer, so she seized on one of his weaknesses and delivered a fierce punch to Wu Chi's shoulder.

Wu Chi was knocked away and staggered back dozens of steps, barely managing to steady himself with the sword in his hand.

Zhou Zhizhi disdained using weapons and easily subdued Wu Chi.

Wu Chi spat out a mouthful of blood, realizing he was no match for Wu Chi, and began to act like a rogue.

"Wu Jia, Wu Yi, Wu Bing, Wu Ding, get up here!"

The four men were thugs that Wu Chi had specially kept in his mansion. Each of them was exceptionally skilled, and because they had practiced martial arts together for a long time, their teamwork was even more seamless.

"Yes." The four of them received the order and rushed towards Zhou Zhizhi in unison.

Four of Wu Chi's thugs rushed towards Zhou Zhizhi, each exuding a fierce killing intent.

Zhou Zhizhi squinted and nimbly dodged their attacks.

Wu Jia, wielding a long sword with a gleaming blade, slashed fiercely at Zhou Zhizhi, the sword's edge aimed directly at her throat.

Zhou Zhizhi flipped in mid-air and kicked Wu Jia in the chest. Wu Jia felt a tremendous force and was sent flying.

At the same time, Wu Yi gripped the Xuan Tie sword in his hand and swiftly slashed at Zhou Zhizhi. The sword strike was fierce and ruthless, leaving no time for anyone to dodge.

Looking at the situation before him, Wu Chi smiled and said, "It's all settled!"

There isn't anyone in this world who can defeat the four henchmen he has carefully trained!

"Watch your temper, stop when you've reached your limit!" Wu Chi ordered the four Wu brothers loudly and contemptuously.

After all, Zhou Zhizhi was the Imperial Advisor of the current dynasty. If anything were to happen to her in her own residence, he would certainly be implicated if the matter were investigated.

But Zhou Zhizhi's next move was a slap in the face to Wu Chi.

Wu Bing didn't need to follow Wu Chi's orders at all, because he was no match for Zhou Zhizhi.

Wu Chi stared wide-eyed in disbelief. He couldn't believe what was happening before his eyes and was incredibly shocked. Could this be the kind of energy a normal woman could unleash?

Zhou Zhizhi moved with agility, dodging the fatal strike with a swift twist, and then rushed towards Wu Yi. She struck him hard in the temple with her palm, causing Wu Yi to immediately lose consciousness.

Seeing this, Wu Bing, holding a long spear, thrust it at Zhou Zhizhi. The latter's eyes narrowed, and she grabbed Wu Yi's Xuan Tie sword, turning around to block Wu Bing's attack.

Zhou Zhizhi focused her energy in her dantian and with a burst of strength, flung Wu Bing away, sending him crashing heavily into Wu Ding, who had come to help.

At this point, Wu Chi was completely defeated.

Zhou Zhizhi had only come to ask for the "Northern Darkness Divine Art," and she was also bound by the Merit Accumulation System, so she only defeated the four thugs trained by Wu Chi before stopping.

She patted her clothes, looked at Wu Chi, and raised an eyebrow, "Still want to fight?"

"I won't fight anymore, I'll gladly offer you the 'Northern Darkness Divine Art' with both hands." Wu Chi immediately changed his expression, his eyes gradually shifting from indignation to appreciation.

Zhou Zhizhi received a satisfactory answer and smiled slightly, her thin lips curving upwards. This smile was like a tree full of pear blossoms in full bloom, making her appear calm and composed. Although she had just finished a fierce battle, she was not tired at all, but rather relaxed and at ease.

"Grand Preceptor Zhou, please come with me." Wu Chi sheathed his sword and respectfully led Zhou Zhizhi into his secret room.

He walked to the desk with practiced ease, twisted the black inkstone on it, and with a loud bang, the wall behind him flipped up, revealing a hidden compartment.

Wu Chi turned around, took the "Northern Darkness Divine Art" and handed it to Zhou Zhizhi.

"National Preceptor Zhou, this is the 'Northern Darkness Divine Art,' please take it."

"However, this is something I obtained with great difficulty, so I hope you will keep it safe and return it to me after you have succeeded." Wu Chi looked at Zhou Zhizhi with a smile.

"Of course, thank you very much, Mr. Wu, for generously lending me this book."

"I, Zhou Zhizhi, will personally return it to you, Mr. Wu, in a month." Zhou Zhizhi took the initiative to state the return deadline. She didn't have much time left. If she didn't learn this skill in the next twenty days, the system would mercilessly eliminate her.

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained the "Northern Darkness Divine Art"!] As the system's voice rang out, the background music of "Good Days" began to play in Zhou Zhizhi's mind.

"Good luck~, good luck~"

Zhou Zhizhi was speechless at the system's bizarre actions. What the hell was this?!

"Stop! System, what are you doing!" Zhou Zhizhi was really helpless; she really didn't want to listen to such a festive song right now.

[Honey, what's wrong? Don't you want to hear congratulations?] The system switched to Monkey King's voice pack again.

Every time Zhou Zhizhi heard the system's ever-changing voice, she couldn't help but marvel at the power of its voice packs.

"Wait until I've learned it before you congratulate me. Now shut up!" Zhou Zhizhi ruthlessly stopped the system.

[Alright then.] The system switched to the pitiful puppy voice pack again.

"National Preceptor Zhou, National Preceptor Zhou?" Wu Chi saw that Zhou Zhizhi hadn't made any move after saying that he would return the book in a month. He tentatively waved his hand in front of his eyes and said, thinking he was being considerate.

"Grand Preceptor, there's no need to be in such a hurry. Although I am very reluctant to part with the book of the Northern Darkness Divine Art, I have lent it to you and that's it. Naturally, I'm not in a rush to get it back."

"After all, very few people in the world have mastered the Northern Darkness Divine Art, and a month is indeed too tight."

Hearing Wu Chi's words, Zhou Zhizhi's opinion of him changed considerably.

“No need, one month is one month,” Zhou Zhizhi repeated to Wu Chi.

"Excellent! Grand Master Zhou has great vision! I will await the good news of Grand Master Zhou's success!"

After Wu Chi finished speaking, he personally escorted Zhou Zhizhi away from his residence. Looking at Zhou Zhizhi's back, he couldn't help but sigh.

"Although this national advisor is quite skilled, he is still too confident. Who in the world could learn such a divine skill in a month?"
