Chapter 7 Highway Robbery

He's dead!

Jiang Zhi sat in the coffee shop; it seemed she wouldn't be able to leave the shop after receiving the goods today.

She gave the pharmacy staff a month's leave, paid them their full wages, and even allowed them to take some antibiotics, heatstroke prevention and anti-inflammatory drugs from the pharmacy.

"Prepare plenty of food that can be stored for a long time when you get back. If you go out in this weather, you're bound to get sick from the heat," Jiang Zhi kindly reminded her.

"Boss, when are you going to cool down?"

"I don't think the temperature will drop like this. According to the sun's movement, the hottest months here are August and September, and it's only the end of May," said the traditional Chinese medicine doctor sitting in the clinic, looking at the sky.

“It seems like I should buy a water tank. I’m worried about power and water outages. I experienced a drought when I was a child, and the reservoir next to my house dried up.” The pharmacist thought for a moment and said.

“That makes sense.” Jiang Zhi nodded.

Jiang Zhi thought the government must already be making preparations for the abnormal weather. As May drew to a close, Jiang Zhi noticed the government was tightening its control over resources such as food and medicine.

After the extreme heat occurs, the hospital is the most miserable place; it's no exaggeration to call it a living hell.

Jiang Zhiyi closed the pharmacy early, also taking this issue into consideration. She would take most of the medicines from the pharmacy, but would still leave some for preventing heatstroke and clearing heat and detoxifying.

At least she couldn't ignore the struggles of kind-hearted people in the face of natural disasters.

Back home, Jiang Zhi contacted a contractor who built corrugated steel roofing sheets. After doubling the wages, the contractor agreed to bring the materials to her door the next day.

Jiang Zhi wanted to build a shed in the yard to completely enclose it.

It's not unusual for wealthy people to have binoculars. Occasionally, while carrying binoculars, one might see a swimming pool in her yard.

It's too much trouble to even think about it.

In addition, she didn't want the swimming pool to evaporate so quickly.

She has a waterfall in her living space and doesn't lack water, but being away from home is a different story.

Therefore, when purchasing supplies, she also purchased a large quantity of bottled and barrelled water.

She has now prepared all the necessary supplies and is just waiting for the natural disaster to strike.

Will this time be different from the last?
