Chapter 339 Earthquake. Small troubles
The helicopter approached the third floor of Xishan first. He Xun, wearing contact lenses, looked at them with a smile. Gu Ye gestured upwards from behind. In order to make more room, there were only the two of them in the helicopter.
Chu An replied with an OK, then looked down. He couldn’t see Niu Li from Xishan, so he could only wait until he got out to thank her.
Li Qing and Hua Bi carried Su Ye in the middle; Yin Tianlin supported Li Rong, Huo Sisi helped carry things, and the three of them walked at the end. Chu An was responsible for clearing the way for them and helped Li Qing get the cane, which was no longer the exaggerated snake head, but a wooden stick that looked like it had not been polished.
The group quickly moved upstairs. No matter how ugly a plane was, it was still a plane, so everyone's steps as they went upstairs were inevitably brisk.
Most of the people on the lower floors heard Niu Li's words, and watched them leave with envy on their faces. Why didn't anyone come to pick them up? Why didn't they make any trustworthy friends?
Others were lost in memories. Where did the rich businessman who was willing to trade his helicopter and yacht for his stuttering go? The pilot who was beaten to death by the building bully, the veteran who was willing to stand up for the entire building, the person who wanted to organize everyone to unite...
Countless memories filled the minds of these people, pain, helplessness, and regret. Why were they so indifferent at that time that there is not even one person to ask for help now? Should we really be selfish in the end times?
Chu An had no idea what they were thinking. He went up to the ninth floor without stopping. Gradually, he noticed that the expressions of the people around him had changed.
These should be the people who still have illusions about the helicopter on the top floor, thinking that the base will pick them up after transferring the patients, but they don’t know any news and can only sit here and wait helplessly.
Chu An slowed down his pace and looked around alertly. When he reached the tenth floor, he suddenly heard a discordant voice.
"The people inside won't open the door, so it's useless to go there." A man with a ponytail said disdainfully, "You'd better go down and queue up obediently."
Chu An glanced at him. He was wearing a Hawaiian vest and shorts, with greasy hair and narrow, squinting eyes. If you didn't look closely, you couldn't see the pupils of his eyes.
She ignored him and continued to walk upstairs. She raised her head towards the man with a threatening look in her eyes, "Stop talking, or you'll get beaten."
The man gritted his teeth, knowing that he was no match for the man with the flowery arms, and shut up. But he was unwilling to give up, and followed them.
After climbing up another floor, the man quickly took two steps to catch up with Chu An, and asked relentlessly, "Do you have a way to get out? Take me with you."
The man did not avoid anyone. Those who were waiting in groups around heard it. It took more than three hours to move one-third of the people downstairs. It was estimated that they would have to wait until tomorrow morning.
No one knew when the next sinking would happen, or whether they would be able to see the sun tomorrow, so when they heard the ponytail man's question, they all gathered around him and said in unison, "Take me with you, please."
"I have points. I'll give them to you when I get out."
"I have food, or if you want something, just tell me. My uncle is very capable and can get you anything."
Chu An didn't want to waste time, so he chose to ignore their words. Suddenly, someone pushed his shoulder, but the force was not very strong.
"What are you doing?"
The one who spoke was Huo Sisi, who was glaring at a short-haired older sister.
The elder sister was not dressed shabbily, and was holding a brand-name bag in her hand. She had a stern face, a bit like some leaders who were used to scolding their employees, "I'm talking to you, didn't you hear me, or can't you even say a word?"
"We are not obliged to answer your questions." Before Chu An could speak, Li Qing spoke first, "Auntie, please pay attention to your attitude."
Li Qing deliberately called the man old, which made the elder sister so angry that she gritted her teeth and said, "We are all people who have fallen on hard times, why are you so selfish?"
Yin Tianlin sneered, "We don't care where you are from, we are not from here, sorry, Auntie, please don't block our way."
Huo Sisi added, "Auntie, those who know us think you want to beg us, but those who don't think we are your employees. Don't use your previous status to pressure us."
After saying that, she looked at Chu An, "Xiao An, keep going and ignore her. If she attacks again, I will break her claws."
Chu An smiled and nodded. With them around, he didn't need to say anything more. It seemed that there was a special term for this situation - mouth substitute.
The suffocated elder sister's face turned pale and blue, and she could only use her magical power of glaring. After realizing that she couldn't beat Huo Sisi, she shook her hands and went downstairs. However, the man with a ponytail continued to follow her.
Huo Sisi glared at him, but he didn't get angry. Instead, he had a sneer on his face, as if he was waiting to see something interesting.
The group continued to move upstairs and soon reached the 12th floor, where the stairs were blocked by a security door.
Chu An knocked on the door, but no one answered. Since Niu Li asked them to go upstairs, she should have arranged everything properly. She put her ear to the door and knocked a few more times, but still no one answered, not even the sound of footsteps.
“Haha… I told you that you couldn’t go up.” The man with the ponytail leaned on the escalator and looked at them with a smug look on his face.
There was no one waiting on this floor, but looking down from the gap between the stairs, one could see a few heads. They were the ones who had followed them up, but they were not as arrogant as the man with the ponytail.
Chu An took out a paper clip from his pocket, inserted it into the keyhole and started to pry the lock.
"Fuck, so this is what you guys were thinking." The ponytailed man was surprised. He had also wanted to pry the door open before, but he didn't dare. He hurriedly called out to the people downstairs, "Hurry up, they opened the door, let's go upstairs."
Chu An quickly opened the door, stepped aside to let Huo Sisi and the others go upstairs, and she walked down the stairs.
The ponytail man called over eight people, all of whom were strong men, but no matter how strong their bodies were, they couldn't stop bullets. She turned the pistol in her hand and looked at them calmly.
The nine grown men stared at the black muzzle of the gun and swallowed their saliva.
"You...why don't you let us go up?" The man with the ponytail didn't want to miss the opportunity to leave.
"I'm doing this for your own good." Chu An said as he watched Li Qing and Huabi go upstairs, "The joint defense team has issued an order that anyone who disrupts the evacuation order can be shot on the spot. You will only die if you go up there."
"I'm not afraid of anything." The ponytailed man plucked up his courage and took a small step forward. "Don't be afraid of them, brothers. There are nine of us and only seven of them, including two patients and two women."
He was pretending to be strong, but the man behind him was not so stupid. It had been a year and a half since the end of the world, and killing was no longer illegal. Half of the eight men left instantly, and the rest retreated downstairs, hiding out of range.
Seeing no one responding, the man with the ponytail turned around to look for someone, but found no one there. He was so scared that he sat down on the ground.
Chu An sneered and walked backwards when Yin Tianlin and Li Rong entered the door.
