Chapter 13: Supply Supermarket Opens Again

Chapter 13: Supply Supermarket Opens Again

One was his wife, Zhang Cuiping, one was his eldest daughter, Xiang Ling, and son-in-law, Zhao Xingshan. The rest was the young man, Xiang Yi, whom he had met three times before.

"Xiang Yu, you are really good at talking. My Xiang Yi is probably not much different in age from you, but he is like a wooden block and has no ability to talk."

Xiang Yu didn't respond to him, but smiled in agreement.

After reaching the foot of the mountain, Xiang Yu made the excuse that she had put some firewood in the ravine yesterday and separated from the others.

Almost half of the firewood on the back mountain has been cut down. After the recent doomsday theory came out, almost everyone in the village has gone out.

People can be seen everywhere on the mountain. The whole family works together, two people cut, one person saws, and several people carry the wood back home. The only one who is left is Xiang Yugu, a widower from the Yugu family.

But they also knew that Xiang Yu lived alone, so it wouldn't take much. Xiang Yu could probably cut down about three trees a day.

Sometimes Xiang Yu was too lazy to cut the trees, so he would pick up the branches they didn't want, bundle them up and carry a few carts back.

In a blink of an eye, a week passed. Monday was the day when the town supermarket supplied food. In the morning, Xiang Yu put on his windbreaker and a cold-proof coat on the outside.

It looks like you aren't wearing much, but it's actually very warm and not even a bit of wind can get in.

After putting on the plush hat, Xiang Yu heard the iron door being knocked. "Xiang Yu, are you going to town?"

Judging from the voice, it was Uncle Xiang's daughter, Xiang Ling.

Xiang Yu opened the door and saw Xiang Ling outside with her nose red from the cold. She was wearing an old-fashioned cotton coat, which should have been her grandmother's.

"My dad said that if you want to go to town, we can go together. If you, a girl, get into trouble, we can all take care of you."

Xiang Yu felt the dagger on her waist and nodded. In fact, if she acted alone, she was confident that she could escape unscathed.

After all, she has been in the apocalypse for five years, so she is confident that she can deal with a dozen ordinary people.

"Then please wait a moment, we will clean up here soon," Xiang Yu followed her to the next door, but just stood outside the yard and waited quietly without going in.

The main road from the village to the town is always cleared of snow, so cars can drive out.

Almost all the adults in their family went out, leaving Zhao Xingshan to take care of the elderly and three children.

Xiang Yu's car followed behind theirs. When he arrived at the entrance of the village, he found a dozen people standing there. They were also villagers who were planning to go to the town to buy things.

Even if there was still some food at home, who would complain about having too much stuff? Many of them didn't have cars, so they waited at the entrance of the village. When they saw Xiang Yu and the others coming out, they wanted to hitchhike.

Uncle Xiang's car was already full, but except for the driver and passenger seats, all the back seats in Xiang Yu's car had been removed.

The village chief pulled the two people forward and walked to Xiang Yu's car. "Xiang Laoer's family, can you help me pick up two people? This is my son and daughter-in-law."

"It's okay, Uncle Village Chief, let them get in, but there's only one seat on my bus, and one of them might have to squat."

"It's okay, it's okay, I'll just squat and my wife will sit," the village chief's son said immediately. They had been waiting here for nearly half an hour.

The villagers went to the town with their entire families. They had been waiting for a long time for the bus, and finally Xiang Yu was able to give them a ride, so they decided to just stay there.

When she was admitted to Ivy League University, the village chief thought she didn't have the money to continue her studies and wanted to hold a graduation party for her and collect some money. Xiang Yu kept it in mind.

"Wife, just sit down, I'll squat behind you," the man got in the car and grabbed the armrest behind the passenger seat.

After the woman fastened her seat belt, Xiang Yu set off. "You must be Xiang Yu, right? I heard that you are a top student in our village."

The woman was trying to find something to talk about, so Xiang Yu changed the subject directly, "Aunt, what are you going to buy today? Did you bring your ID card?"

The woman felt in her pocket and said, "I brought it, but I heard that the price of rice has gone up. A bag of ten kilograms of rice costs five hundred yuan. What a sin..."

"Yes, luckily we live in the countryside and grow rice every year. I heard that people in the city can hardly afford to eat now. How miserable..."

The couple discussed with each other, and Xiang Yu was thinking about what happened in school in his previous life.

Isn’t it miserable? Worse is yet to come.

After arriving at the mall, Xiang Yu found a random parking space and parked the car. The two thought that they would go back in Xiang Yu's car later, so they noted down where Xiang Yu parked his car and ran into the mall supermarket.

There are more people waiting outside the mall today than last time. It is estimated that half of the people in the town have come, including villagers from several surrounding villages.

Uncle Xiang and his family had already entered the mall and lined up. Xiang Yu was behind a few people, and the village chief's son and his wife were at the front.

While waiting to enter the supermarket, Xiang Yu could hear people shouting "Catch the thief" from time to time, followed by a burst of heart-wrenching cries.

"It's a damn thing. That's our family's food allowance. Without this money, how can we survive? I have three children waiting to be fed."

"Whoever took my money, please return it to me. I will never pursue it. I just ask you to return my money."

"My elderly and children at home are waiting to buy food to save their lives. Please return the money to me..."

The crying was so miserable that many women around had red eyes. Everyone present had several children to raise at home.

The man whose money was stolen has already started trying to commit suicide, and a few others are biting anyone they see.

"Did you steal my money? It was you? It must be you," a woman with eyes swollen like light bulbs rushed to Xiang Yu.

She pointed at Xiang Yu's nose and called her a thief, but Xiang Yu didn't tolerate her. "Sister, I just saw you crying over there. There's such a long distance between us. Besides, which eye of yours saw that I took it?"

She was already biting randomly, and when Xiang Yu pushed her, she went crazy. "Ahhhhhhh~~~" the woman screamed in despair.

Soon it was Xiang Yu's turn to enter the supermarket. As the gate opened, the people standing at the guardrails rushed into the supermarket, and Xiang Yu mixed in the crowd.

During this time, Xiang Yu felt a hand reaching into his pocket, and a sewing needle appeared in his right hand.

Xiang Yu stabbed the hand hard, and suddenly a pig-slaughtering howling sound came from beside him. Many people around looked at the woman, and Xiang Yu took advantage of the chaos to enter the supermarket.

The woman searched for Xiang Yu in the crowd, but she couldn't even see his shadow. The place on the back of her hand where she was stabbed was painful.

After Xiang Yu entered the supermarket, he walked towards the daily necessities area. Most people were buying food at that time, so no one was buying things like flashlights and some daily necessities.

Xiang Yu took a few batteries, five or six flashlights, and two military tents.
