Chapter 29: Show me the way
The temperature seemed to be even lower at night. "Xiang Yu, come in," Uncle Xiang looked at the slender figure in the snow and recognized Xiang Yu at once.
"I won't go in," Xiang Yu stood outside the yard. Soon, he and Xiang Yi both came out.
The two men were carrying two large mountaineering bags on their backs. Zhang Cuiping and her grandmother sent them out with worried looks on their faces.
Xiang Ling followed behind with a child in her arms.
"Dashan, and Xiaoyi, be careful outside. It's okay if you can't find food. Safety is the most important thing. Come back early..." Dashan is the nickname of Uncle Xiang.
"Hubby, if there is any danger, you must run away immediately, okay?" Zhang Cuiping instructed the two of them. What happened in the town last time had become a psychological trauma in her mind.
"It's cold outside, you guys go inside quickly, we'll be back soon," Uncle Xiang comforted the two and pushed them into the house.
"Grandpa, hold me," Xiang Ling kept trying to get the child down from his arms. "Dad, be careful."
After the two came out of the yard, they saw Xiang Yu standing under the street light. They couldn't see him clearly because it was too dark just now. Only now did they realize that Xiang Yu seemed to be carrying something on his back.
"Xiang Yu, what toy is this?" Uncle Xiang asked with confusion in his eyes. After all, he had never seen a compound bow before.
There are two rollers on both sides of the bow, which looks very mechanical. "Dad, stop talking, this is a compound bow."
Xiang Yi looked at Xiang Yu with surprise. He didn't expect that Xiang Yu could actually play this. And looking at the gun on her back, it seemed to be the kind used in hunting grounds abroad.
There was a time before when he was very fond of watching videos of hunting in foreign countries. He once saw a foreigner hunting with a compound bow.
A wildebeest was shot through by an arrow and died on the spot.
I just don't know if Xiang Yu's sword has such power.
When the three of them arrived at the entrance of the village, the village chief's son and his wife were already waiting there, but Xiang Cheng's parents had not arrived yet.
"When did you come?" Uncle Xiang asked, looking at the snow covering the two men.
"We've been here for a while. If you don't come again, my wife and I will go back," said the village chief's son shivering, and then the two of them stretched their bodies.
After they waited for about five minutes, Xiang Cheng's parents finally arrived, but the person who was going was not his mother, but Xiang Cheng.
"Sister Xiang Yu, I didn't expect you to go too?" Xiang Cheng didn't expect to meet Xiang Yu here. Originally, his father and mother were planning to go to the city to look for supplies tonight.
But for some reason his father told his mother not to go and told him to pack his things and leave.
"You little bastard, keep your voice down," Xiang Cheng's father slapped him on the back of the head and turned his head to look around.
"Let's go," Uncle Xiang walked in front, and several people walked slowly in the snow. There was no wind at night and the snow was light.
Xiang Cheng walked beside Xiang Yu. After leaving the village, he chattered non-stop. With his voice, the journey was not too boring for them.
Walking on the snow on foot was still too slow, so they walked and stopped from time to time, and met people from other villages during the journey.
But everyone was wrapped up so tightly that even acquaintances wouldn’t be able to recognize them if they met them.
When passing by the town, everyone tacitly chose to bypass it and found the fastest route to the city. If they walked quickly, they could arrive before dawn.
At six o'clock in the morning, the few people finally arrived outside the city. Just walk for more than half an hour and they can go directly into the city.
It’s so dangerous in a small town, let alone a densely populated city.
After discussing, they decided to rest first, recharge their energy, and then go out to look for things in the afternoon. Otherwise, if they encountered danger, they would not be able to escape with their current tired bodies.
They found a hotel and checked it out first. They only went in after confirming that there was no one inside. To be on the safe side, they climbed to the sixth floor.
Without a room card, the door could not be opened, so the village chief's son simply pried it open violently. They agreed to meet at 3 pm, and then they closed the door and rested.
The room is furnished with a large bed, a kettle and two bedside tables, which is simple and clean.
Xiang Yu set the alarm clock and woke up at noon. The doors of the next door were closed, so Xiang Yu carefully closed the door and went downstairs.
She didn't come to the city to find food, she came to find medicine. After her rebirth, she found that GJ seemed to have noticed the abnormal weather a long time ago.
When we were stockpiling supplies, we learned from the merchants that GJ had very strict control over all supplies during that period.
Especially medicines, she stockpiled all the things except medicines, which she only had a small amount of, and she couldn't buy them even if she had money at that time.
One foot stepped into the snow and almost half of his leg sank into it. Xiang Yu looked forward and could see only a few tall buildings in the blizzard.
The rest of the houses were almost buried in the snow.
There was a sound coming from the alley on the right. Xiang Yu turned his head and saw a child about the same height as Xiang Cheng rummaging in the trash can.
He was wearing an ill-fitting cotton coat, revealing two ankles that were already frozen and purple.
His greasy hair was stuck to his forehead in clumps. When he saw Xiang Yu looking at him, he was stunned for a moment and sniffed.
Then he continued to rummage through the trash cans. He had rummaged through several trash cans on the street. A pile of garbage could be seen floating in the snow with the wind and snow.
There are many two-story houses built in rows on both sides of the road, but the doors of every house are closed and there is no sign that anyone lives there.
The child must have found something in the trash can, hid it in his arms, held it tightly with both hands, and ran quickly past Xiang Yu.
"Hey, wait a minute," Xiang Yu ran forward two steps and caught up with the little boy in two or three steps. He was wearing a pair of shoes that didn't fit him.
Xiang Yu could easily catch up with him.
When Xiang Yu grabbed the back of the boy's collar, the boy immediately turned around and opened his mouth to bite Xiang Yu's wrist.
Xiang Yu quickly stretched out his left hand and pinched the little boy's open mouth, "Let me go..." The little boy raised his foot and kicked towards Xiang Yu.
"Let me ask you something. I won't steal your things," Xiang Yu let go of the back of his collar and pretended to touch his pocket with his right hand.
The next moment, a pack of compressed biscuits was taken out.
The little boy didn't say anything, but immediately reached out and snatched the thing from Xiang Yu's hand, "Ask."
"Which street is this? Can you please show me the way?" Xiang Yu looked at the time. It was already 12:30 noon.
She had two hours left.
"If you walk along here, you will see a river, and then you will cross the viaduct and there will be a street over there."
"Okay, thanks," Xiang Yu turned to leave but was stopped by the little boy again.
"If you want to go there, I advise you not to go there."
