Chapter 35: Going Home
Xiang Yu turned his head and saw Xiang Cheng standing in the dark alley, loading stones into the slingshot in his hand.
He used the same hand gestures that Xiang Yu had taught them to use when hunting wild boars. [The following two.]
Xiang Yu became alert instantly, exerted force with his hands that were clinging to the window, and used the force to leap into the room on the second floor.
Without stopping at all, Xiang Yu turned around and ran towards the third floor. This residential house was probably never lived in before, and many things in the room were covered with dust.
There was the sound of footsteps downstairs. Xiang Yu opened the door to the third-floor terrace, glanced around, then ran to the left and jumped down.
There was thick snow under his feet, and Xiang Yu's body was instantly buried in the snow. A compound bow appeared in his hand. Xiang Yu stood up and saw the solar energy on the roof.
He hid behind the solar energy and took out his bow and arrow. The two people downstairs had already caught up with him, so he shot two arrows quickly.
The two men who caught up to the roof fell to the ground wailing. Brother Xiao, who was originally waiting for news at the second-floor window on the right, saw that there was no response no matter how he called out to his companions.
Instantly he felt a chill on his back and the window of the next room shattered. He was so scared that he ran downstairs.
Xiang Yu looked down and saw Xiang Yi holding a brick in his hand and smashing it on the second-floor window.
"He's out," Xiang Yi shouted, then turned and ran, after all, the man had a gun in his hand.
After Brother Xiao ran out, he ran towards the snowmobile and fired two shots in the direction of Xiang Yi's escape.
Xiang Yu stood on the roof. The rollers on both sides of the compound bow had been pulled to the extreme, making a crackling sound.
With a whoosh, the arrow flew out and pierced directly through Brother Xiao's body and shot towards the ground, but Brother Xiao didn't feel the pain at first.
He ran forward five or six steps before staggering and falling to the ground.
Xiang Yu looked at the two people on the roof of the next door, climbed upstairs and pulled out the bows and arrows from their bodies. Her bows and arrows were as scarce as bullets.
If you don't use it sparingly, holding the compound bow in your hand will be like a bicycle without wheels. How can you move?
When Xiang Yu went downstairs, he saw Xiang Yi and Xiang Cheng standing in front of the door. "Why are you back?" Xiang Yu said in a relaxed tone, as if he was chatting.
But at this time, both of them had not yet recovered from their previous experience. They had just helped Xiang Yu kill someone.
Although they were not the ones who committed the crime, the killing of those people was more or less related to them.
Since it was the first time for the two of them to kill someone, they naturally couldn't be as calm as Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu squatted down and touched the corpse. He found two keys, two full magazines, and a pistol. A hint of joy flashed across his eyes.
Xiang Yu turned him over and continued to search him, and finally found a soft package under the holster where he placed his gun.
"Grade D..." Xiang Yu looked at the white powder in his hand. No wonder they were so lawless in robbing food and killing people at the beginning of the apocalypse.
Picking up the bow and arrow on the ground and putting them into his backpack, Xiang Yu continued to search the corpses. These people should have come out temporarily and did not have any supplies on them.
Several packages of D products were found.
The snow was falling heavily. Xiang Yu looked at the two figures standing behind him and gave one of the keys in his hand to them. After all, the two of them had helped him just now.
Xiang Yi was the first to react. He took two steps forward and took the key from Xiang Yu's hand. This was the key to one of the two snowmobiles.
"Brother Xiang Yi is coming back to help you," Xiang Cheng said at this time. They were originally fleeing in the alley.
But for some reason, Brother Xiang Yi suddenly turned around and said he wanted to come back to help. His uncles and the others were already very tired, so he followed Xiang Yi.
Xiang Yu turned his head to look at him, inserted the key in his hand into another snowmobile, and Xiang Yi imitated Xiang Yu.
After inserting the key into the car, I fumbled for a while to figure out how to open it, and then I quickly got the hang of it.
He brought Xiang Cheng and Xiang Yu and followed the two of them. When they returned to the alley, they found that the village chief's son and his men had not left.
Seeing the three men coming back, they realized that the previous group of thugs had also been dealt with.
The breath that was suppressed in their hearts relaxed, and the village chief's son and daughter-in-law suddenly felt the coldness on their bodies.
His legs had lost all feeling at this point, his body was shaking, and he found a place to change his clothes. Then he discussed something with the others.
Xiang Cheng, his father and uncle Xiang were riding in a snowmobile, while Xiang Yu was with the village chief's son and daughter-in-law.
Xiang Cheng was thin, so he could just lie down in front of the snowmobile, which didn't take up much space. It just made the vehicle drive slower, but it was better than walking back to the village.
It took a long time to get here, and they returned to the village overnight. When they arrived at Xiangjia Village, it was already past seven in the morning.
The snowmobile drove directly to the village clinic. Although it was called a clinic, the hospital actually covered a fairly large area.
When this place was first built, it was intended for villagers from all over the country to come here for medical treatment.
But for some reason, the construction was stopped halfway through. Now the facilities are complete, but many doctors left because of the water and electricity outage.
There are still a few left holding on here.
"Doctor, doctor..." Xiang Cheng shouted loudly towards the hospital after getting off the snowmobile. Soon, the curtain of a window on the first floor was lifted.
Xiang Yi and his uncle carried Xiang Cheng's father into the hospital. In such a big hospital, there were only three doctors left.
"How did this happen? How could he be injured so badly?" The three of them looked at the blood-stained white sheet wrapped around Xiang Cheng's father.
"Put him on this bed. Let me take a look at his injuries first..." the doctor in a white coat put on a mask.
The three men took a pair of scissors and cut the cloth on Xiang Cheng's father's leg, only to see that the area around the wound began to turn white.
Due to the low temperature, a layer of fine ice had condensed on the surface of the wound. The three of them frowned upon seeing this.
"You guys go out and wait first," the three of them closed the door of the operating room. Now that there was no water or electricity, they had limited tools to use.
One person administered the anesthesia skillfully, and then he became busy. After several people waited outside for about fifty minutes, three people came out of the operating room.
"Doctor, how is my father?" Xiang Cheng stepped forward anxiously.
"It would have been better if you had come earlier. Even if his injury healed, he would probably have a lame leg in the future."
"Lame..." Xiang Cheng murmured, but no matter what, his father was saved.
"It's good to be alive, it's good to be alive," Uncle Xiang looked into the ward. After all, Xiang Cheng's father was injured while saving them.
Now that the person has been saved, they can finally let go of the burden in their hearts.
In the end, Xiang Cheng was left alone to look after his father, while Xiang Yu, Xiang Yi and others returned to the village.
The village chief's daughter-in-law went to inform Xiang Cheng's family and told them that Xiang Cheng and his son were now in the clinic.
They were low-key when they left, and even more low-key when they came back. No one in the village knew that they had been to the city for a few days.
There were two snowmobiles, one in Xiang Yu's hands and the other in Xiang Yi's hands. After everyone returned home, they began to think carefully about everything that happened last night.
