Nalan Zhao's eyes showed a hint of hesitation as he tentatively asked, "Sister, do you want me to go out?"
"Huh? Why did you ask that?" Shen Zhiyi turned around and looked at Nalan Zhao in surprise. "Hiss, I was just asking."
Nalan Zhao blinked and secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought that Shen Zhiyi just wanted him to go out and arrest people.
The number of mechanical dolls destroyed yesterday was quite large, which probably alerted the enemy, so he can't continue to take action in the next couple of days.
"I'll stay home for the next couple of days and won't go out," Nalan Zhao said softly, afraid that Shen Zhiyi would think he was a lazy person.

Nalan Zhao has very fair skin, and his puppy-dog eyes make him look very innocent. Especially when he looks at people with those innocent eyes, it's really hard to resist.
When Nalan Zhao saw Shen Zhiyi turn around to look at him, he tightened his grip on his clothes with his hand on his lap, and his ears turned slightly red.
He pursed his lips, looking a little uncomfortable. "Sister, what's wrong?"

Shen Zhiyi remained silent for a moment, not taking the things Nalan Zhao was holding. "You can use them yourself. You've been going out to investigate from time to time lately. It's so hot outside, what if you get heatstroke?"
Nalan Zhao paused for a moment, a slight smile curving her lips, but it was barely noticeable. "It's alright, sister, I have another one."

But fearing that Shen Zhiyi wouldn't accept his gift, he looked up at her and gestured the necklace in his hand toward her.
"Sister, please accept it?"

She accepted the necklace that Nalan Zhao handed her.

Shen Zhiyi touched the necklace around her neck and recalled Nalan Zhao's actions after he came to her place. There was nothing wrong with it.
"Don't overthink it. If he had bad intentions, he would have done something bad the day before yesterday."
But Fox Moon felt something was off, though she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
"I still feel like something's off about him, like he's secretly plotting something."
Shen Zhiyi looked at Hu Yue's little head with a speechless expression, and reached out to rub it. "I think you've been reading too many romance novels."
Shen Zhiyi found some romance novels circulating on their islands among the gifts given to her by the wandering merchants.
She would take it out to look at it when she was bored, and Fox Moon happened to see it and became fascinated after taking a look.

Shen Zhiyi sighed, wondering why Hu Yue kept focusing on this point. Was she just too idle?
"I asked him first if he was hot running around outside, and that's when he brought it up."
Fox Moon thought about it for a moment, and it seemed like there was such a thing? Most of the time, the cat tree is where the little squirrel and Fox Moon play, while Black Wolf occasionally comes over to use the scratching post.
