Chapter 69: Tree supplies, wolves catch up

By the time we finished packing up the supplies, it was already dark.

Two hours have passed, and there are still fourteen hours left.

Shen Zhiyi and the others continued walking and found a place to rest for a while and have a meal.

"So, the trees here seem pretty big. How about we go up one of them?"

They were no longer in the woods; the further they went, the larger the trees became, as if they had been enlarged.

Sangsang looked up at the tree trunk and thought, "I could sleep right on this tree trunk."

“It’s not impossible.” Shen Zhiyi also looked up at the tree trunk, seemingly lost in thought.

Meanwhile, Chen Peng was already quietly preparing to climb the tree.

"Haha, thankfully this is relatively easy to climb, otherwise this suggestion would have been scrapped." Sangsang looked down and exclaimed, "Wow, it's really high!"

The three people had already climbed up.

After thinking for a moment, Shen Zhiyi made a large wooden plank and placed it on two adjacent tree trunks to form a layer, allowing them to stay in the tree more safely.

"Let's eat, let's eat." Sangsang had already taken out the fruit from the noodle tree and was ready to eat.

Shen Zhiyi also took out a noodle tree fruit. The noodle tree fruit was very big, almost the size of a melon, and she had to hold it with both hands.

Little Fish grabbed Shen Zhiyi and also got a fruit from the noodle tree.

Shen Zhiyi took a bite, and it was a soft and fragrant feeling, like eating a very soft steamed bun.

"Star, this fruit from the flour tree is so delicious! It's much better than those steamed buns." Sangsang was already thoroughly enjoying her meal.

Chen Peng nodded in agreement, "Moreover, the fruit of the noodle tree is very filling. I think if the two of you aren't very hungry, you won't be able to finish one of these fruits."

"Oh dear, how could I forget to dig up the tree!" Shen Zhiyi suddenly realized this crucial issue.

"...So you've got your eye on it again?" Chen Peng looked at Shen Zhiyi with a complicated expression.

Shen Zhiyi stretched out her finger and shook it: "No, no, no, you don't understand. I'm making plans for a better life in the future."

"After we finish eating, let's take stock of the supplies we just had, and then I'll go back and dig up a couple more trees."

Shen Zhiyi didn't finish a single noodle tree fruit; it was just too big and filling, so she left half of it.

Putting away the remaining half of the noodle tree fruit, Shen Zhiyi opened her backpack to check today's harvest.

[Flour (1 jin) * 20, Rice (1 jin) * 20, Raw dough (1 jin) * 20, Steamed buns * 40, Bread * 37, Biscuits * 54, Flatbread * 29, Flour tree fruit * 238]

This can be described as a great harvest.

But thanks to the dried fish, otherwise we wouldn't have needed to get so many.

Shen Zhiyi dusted herself off and asked, "Do you want to come along?"

"Let's go." Chen Peng stood up. "Sang Sang, stay here and keep an eye on our place for today."

Sangsang nodded quickly, "If anything happens, I'll call you immediately."

The two climbed down the tree and walked towards the woods.

Sangsang, who was in the tree, seemed to remember something and quickly called out to the two people's backs, "Remember to get me two trees too!"

"Know!"

"That tree is quite big, how do you plan to dig it up?" Chen Peng asked as they walked.

Shen Zhiyi didn't plan to dig up too many; just one tree would be enough. She would be satisfied if it bore a few fruits every two or three days; otherwise, she would cut it down.

"Little Fish loves digging trees, let it do it." Shen Zhiyi directly assigned Little Fish its task.

Chen Peng glanced back at the dried fish following behind him and laughed.

Little Fish glanced at him, puzzled, and sped up to run ahead of Shen Zhiyi.

The two quickly arrived at the grove of trees. Shen Zhiyi picked a tree and pointed to it, telling Xiaoyugan to dig it up.

"Awooo!" Don't worry, zookeeper, the beast will dig it out for you!

After yelling, Little Fish pounced on the tree and started digging it up.

Shen Zhiyi wasn't worried about the dried fish at all; the dried fish were quite capable now.

He turned around and helped Chen Peng dig up a tree.

"Brother Peng, why don't you get one?"

Chen Peng wiped the sweat from his face. "Let's dig out Sangsang's first."

Xiaoyugan was much faster than Shen Zhiyi and her companion. While the two of them were still halfway there, Xiaoyugan was yelling and urging Shen Zhiyi to pass.

"Little Dried Fish, you're amazing!" Shen Zhiyi squatted down in front of Little Dried Fish, picked up Little Dried Fish's paw, and looked at it.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I found that the dried fish's claws were only covered in dirt and that it wasn't injured.

Who would have thought that Xiaoyugan would be so helpful? She originally planned to finish digging up one stalk with Chen Peng and then come over to help Xiaoyugan. She probably hadn't even finished digging up half of Xiaoyugan's stalks by then. Who could have imagined...?

I ruffled the little dried fish's head and gave it two of the jellies it had recently become obsessed with.

"Aww!" Jelly!

The little dried fish picked up two jellies and ran to the side.

Shen Zhiyi originally wanted to help it open, but the dried fish ran away so fast.

Shen Zhiyi shook her head and came over to continue helping Chen Peng dig.

Meanwhile, after Shen Zhiyi and the other person left, Sangsang sat on the wooden board, looking around with great boredom.

However, it's almost eight o'clock now, and it's already dark.

It was all dark and there wasn't much to see.

Xiao Lan was left on the tree by Shen Zhiyi to keep Sang Sang company. Even though Xiao Lan was there, Sang Sang still put away the torch.

She's all alone now, and if she lights a torch, she'll easily be spotted by the wild beasts in the secret realm.

As Sangsang watched, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a ghostly green light.

Sangsang rubbed her eyes and looked again, but she couldn't see it. She thought she must have seen wrong.

Just as I was about to open the panel to see if there were any rumors in the chat area.

Suddenly, many eerie green lights appeared in the distance.

It's a pack of wolves!

Sangsang's eyes widened; the wolf pack was catching up!

Sangsang wanted to shout in the direction Shen Zhiyi and the others had gone, but she was afraid of alerting the wolf pack.

Sang Sang opened the panel and dialed Shen Zhiyi's video call. After Shen Zhiyi answered, Sang Sang made a shushing gesture before she could speak.

Then I sent a message to Shen Zhiyi.

"Star! The wolf pack is catching up! You and Peng, quickly find a place to hide! They're heading in your direction!"

Sangsang didn't dare to breathe too loudly, for fear that the wolves would discover that she was in the tree.

Shen Zhiyi's face darkened. "Brother Peng, let's go. Stop digging for now. The wolf pack is catching up. Sangsang said they're heading this way."

Chen Peng put away the shovel in his hand. "Let's go!"

The two ran while looking at the route map, trying to find a place to hide.

However, to their surprise, the wolf pack had already blocked Shen Zhiyi and her group's path.

Black Wolf stepped out from the side, his eyes fixed on Shen Zhiyi.

Chen Peng stepped forward, shielding Shen Zhiyi behind him, and whispered, "There are too many wolves; there's no way to escape."

"What are these wolves up to? We haven't provoked them."

"Aww!"
