Chapter 21 The Brigade Leader of Meteor City 21 (Revised) Nobunaga...

Chapter 21 The Brigade Leader of Meteor City 21 (Revised) Nobunaga...

A bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, shattering the silence.

Thunder roared, making the night all the more terrifying.

A deep, guttural roar came from behind the man. The beast seemed to be drooling, white saliva dripping onto the ground and flowing along the cracks in the floorboards toward the kneeling man.

The beast's mouth was still filled with crimson blood. It had just finished eating, but its stomach was still growling with hunger. It stared greedily at the person kneeling on the ground, making the person unable to look it in the eye, and the person's body trembled.

"Alright, Bryce."

The man grabbed the beast's cheek and squeezed its face so hard that it was deformed, making several "crackling" sounds.

The pain and the suppression of power forced the ferocious beast to lower its head, lying limply on the ground and whimpering. The deliberately strained sounds were full of grievance, and its fierce, slender eyes were moist.

"Be good, I won't treat you badly, just wait a little longer, okay?"

The man's voice was gentle, but his actions were forceful and brutal. He forcefully pressed down on the beast's head, rendering it completely immobile, and even grabbed the beast's neck as a threat.

Only after the beast had completely submitted did the man loosen his grip, pat the beast's head with a smile, and coax it patiently, "Alright, good boy."

There was a pool of blood in front of the man, shaped like a human, probably a child, and it had dried up.

"Sir...my lord."

The person who had been kneeling on the ground finally dared to speak. His voice trembled, cracking with fear, but as he thought of something even more terrifying, he closed his eyes and spoke with a determined air.

"The 'things' we brought have all been eaten by your pet. This... this is impossible to explain to our superiors."

"Oh?" The man straightened his clothes.

He was wearing a dark blue suit, specially tailored to accentuate his physique, which showed that he was taking good care of his figure.

The man wore a large black cloak that exuded elegance, but it was accidentally stained with red.

"You mean... it's my fault that you didn't hand over the 'thing'?" The man sneered, his gaze sweeping over the person kneeling on the ground, finally settling on their neck with an ambiguous look, and asked in a low voice, "Cameron, do you need me to compensate you?"

The beast behind him sprang to life, its bulging eyes reflecting a cold light in the darkness, and a threatening growl emanated from its throat, causing Cameron to tremble even more violently.

Fear seemed to materialize and overflow from his eyes. Cameron dared not reply, nor dared he look at the two figures in the darkness. The powerful pressure was almost suffocating him.

"Since it was my pet that caused the trouble, I should naturally take responsibility."

The man raised an eyebrow and said with interest, "I'll go with you tomorrow, and I'll personally select the 'things' to deliver. How about that?"

Even though it was a question, Cameron didn't dare to refuse at all.

He hurriedly answered "yes" several times, then staggered to his feet and left, eager to escape this place of trouble and prepare the ingredients and supplies needed to capture "the thing" the next day.

If only I had known… if only I had known…!

Cameron was filled with remorse, but he could say nothing more and was forced to accept this solution.

His chest was still pounding with lingering fear, so much so that it even ached slightly.

The image of the beast brutally tearing off the limbs of "something" and chewing them with its sharp teeth still echoed in Cameron's mind, making his stomach churn.

He could no longer bear it, grabbed the building next to him for support, and vomited.

The girl moved with light steps. She wore a cream-colored top, had a slender figure, and light blue shorts with white sneakers underneath. She was panting heavily, her eyes were bright, and her fists were clenched on either side of her chest, swinging back and forth with her running.

The girl was followed by a black-haired boy who looked very weak. His knuckles had turned white from running too much, and his face had an unnatural flush.

Because it was early morning, the sun hadn't risen much yet, the sky was pale blue, and there was a coolness unique to this time of year. A gust of cold wind blew by, and the girl stopped in her tracks, her expression unchanged.

That's enough for now.

The black-haired boy didn't react in time and almost fell to the ground, but fortunately the girl caught him in time. Kuroro breathed a sigh of relief, looked up at Ayana gratefully, panting heavily, and a hint of a smile appeared in his eyes: "Thank you, Ayana."

The little rabbit's cheeks were flushed red from the exercise, making him look incredibly cute. He felt warm all over, and the feeling of weakness seemed to recede further from him, which brought a sense of relief to Ayana.

She reached out and ruffled Kuroro's hair, feeling a warm glow in her heart, and said with a gentle smile, "After resting a little longer, we can go back for breakfast."

Kuroro's physique can hardly be described as "good"; he is very weak. Therefore, while Ayana is increasing his nutrition, she is also determined to train him every day so that he can become a healthy baby.

A familiar voice suddenly came from not far away. The two looked at the source of the voice at the same time, and there appeared a little hamster with light golden hair.

The knight-errant wore the purple clothes given to him by Ayana; the purple suited his skin tone perfectly and further enhanced his lively and vibrant aura.

The knight-errant clenched his fist and rushed towards the two of them. Upon seeing Ayana, the knight-errant's face immediately turned serious. He put one hand to his mouth and coughed twice in a pretentious manner, greeting her with feigned seriousness.

"Good morning, Ayana."

Ayana couldn't help but laugh at his pretentious seriousness. Her eyes were kind and gentle as she said, "Good morning, knight."

The knight seemed to really like Ayana. When he heard Ayana call his name, his eyes lit up instantly. He couldn't wait to talk to Ayana a few more times, but then he suddenly remembered his business and slapped his forehead.

"Kuroro, Ayana, you two need to be careful lately."

"Hmm?" Kuroro's complexion slowly returned to normal. He pressed his temples a couple of times, feeling much more relaxed, and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Several of my close friends have recently gone missing!"

The little hamster looked serious, his brows furrowed, and spilled out all the information he had gathered: "Meteor City has never been peaceful, but it's been especially bad lately. I heard that a group of people have stormed in, and they've brought a beast this, this big!"

At this point, to make the situation clearer, the boy gestured with his hands, drawing large circles in the air, and widened his eyes, saying, "I have a good friend who escaped back home; he was almost eaten by that wild beast!"

"He said that the beast used human bones to sharpen its teeth and ate human flesh. He saw with his own eyes the beast crunching and chewing on the body of one of his companions before swallowing it!"

A hint of fear flashed in the boy's eyes, as if he had imagined a terrifying scene. He shuddered, quickly patted his chest to suppress his fear, and continued, "My good friend who ran back has almost gone crazy because he witnessed this scene with his own eyes. He hides in a corner every day and hasn't eaten for several days!"

Ayana paused for a moment, then clicked "Yes" without hesitation.

With the system's reminder, she was certain that this matter was related to that organization.

But this time the system only popped up a task bar, nothing else, it was completely empty.

This mission... seems to require Ayana to gather information and conduct investigations on her own.

That would probably be very troublesome.

Ayana frowned.

"What's wrong?" A gentle voice sounded beside her. The boy seemed to think she was scared, and his eyes flickered with worry. He lowered his voice and said, "It's okay, that beast won't come after you."

Kuroro said this to comfort her.

But Ayana had some doubts.

That beast certainly wouldn't come looking for her.

After all, it's highly likely that she went to find that beast on her own initiative.

"I'm not scared anymore."

Ayana chuckled twice, then her expression turned serious. She rubbed her chin and suddenly asked the knight, "Did your good friend say where those people appeared?"

The knight blinked twice: "I don't know."

Since his good friend returned, he has been acting like a madman. His skin is as white as paper, his eyes are vacant, and he cannot answer questions. He looks like he has been terrified. It is unknown what kind of scene he saw.

Ayana nodded briefly, then pondered for a moment before finally saying, "Then... chivalrous one, could you take me to see him?"

Fresh blood, fresh blood, fresh blood.

Endless streams of blood flowed from the beast's sharp teeth, dripping down and mingling with the blood on the ground, leaving a deep, crimson memory in the boy's heart.

The beast stared intently at the boy, its throat emitting sounds and its mouth drooling, sending chills and terror through the boy.

His legs went weak and he collapsed to the ground, bracing himself with his hands behind him as he frantically crawled backward, crying out, "Don't come any closer... don't come any closer!"

"Oh?" The man dressed in blue-black clothes looked on with interest. He simply stroked the beast's head, and the beast immediately calmed down, obediently lying on the ground, letting out a pitiful whimper.

"You're very brave."

The man walked step by step toward the boy, the heels of his leather shoes making a sound on the ground. His expression was calm, and his tone even carried a hint of a smile as he joked, "But being bold isn't always a good thing. If you just faint, you might not feel any pain."

The man's expression changed, and a bloodthirsty smile suddenly appeared on his lips: "In that case, your screams will probably be especially beautiful."

The man made a gesture that the boy had only recently seen, and he knew that if he made this gesture, the wild beast would soon attack him.

At that point, he would have no chance of survival.

No, we absolutely cannot do that.

The silver blade reflected a cold light under the moonlight. The boy took out a dagger he had carefully polished for self-defense from his pocket and, taking advantage of the man's unpreparedness, suddenly stabbed him.

It happened in the blink of an eye!

The man was stabbed hard in the hand by the dagger, and blood gushed out from his palm instantly. The pain made the man scream, and he could no longer maintain his composure.

Frustration and anger filled his heart. In a fit of rage, the man ordered his pet to tear off the little boy's flesh, but it was too late.

The boy tensed up without a moment's hesitation, and taking advantage of the man's brief moment of pain, he used the unique terrain of Meteor City to conceal himself and escape!

hateful.

How awful! How awful! How awful!!

Damn it!!!

Don't let him find that brat, or he'll skin that brat alive, rip off his fingernails one by one, and crush his joints one by one!

The man's expression was fierce and crazed. He clutched his injured hand, venting his anger on Cameron, who was with him, pointing at Cameron and speaking to the beast.

Eat him!

Although he had escaped for a long time, the boy still couldn't shake off the terrifying scene.

The image haunted the boy like a persistent ghost. He clutched his head, hiding in a dark corner of the alley, the scene replaying in his mind.

"Nobunaga!!!"

The worried voice brought Nobunaga back to his senses, pulling him out of his endless memories.

He looked up and saw two boys and a girl appear before him at the same time.
