Chapter 25 The Leader of the Phantom Troupe in Meteor City 25 (The Truth Has Been Revised (Part 1...)

After struggling to complete all the system tasks last night, Ayana was extremely tired. She felt that everything in front of her was upside down and flipping around. Her upper and lower eyelids were constantly fighting, expressing their fatigue and exhaustion.

After settling Nobunaga in, Ayana could no longer hold on. She spared Adrian's life, leaving him barely alive to prevent him from dying instantly and having wasted her efforts. She returned to her room, closed the door, and without even changing out of her pajamas, lay down on the bed and fell asleep the moment she closed her eyes.

This was a real hardship for Adrian.

As a Nen user, his physical condition and recovery ability were naturally much better than ordinary people. Just as dawn broke and the sun had barely peeked over the horizon, Adrian, who had been unconscious, regained consciousness and woke up.

He opened his eyes, and all he saw was darkness.

The morning light was already dim and not very bright. In addition, all the windows in the house had been covered up with curtains by the children in the house, which made Adrian feel like he was in an unfamiliar dark environment, which inevitably made him feel scared.

Not only that, Adrian's hands and feet were bound with ropes, so he was unable to move and was forced to lie on the cold ground, feeling both cold and scared.

He opened his mouth to speak, shouting loudly to attract attention, only to find that his mouth was also taped shut, and he couldn't make a sound.

Although he had done many bad things and many people had died at his hands, and he had used some extremely cruel methods to frequently bring children to the brink of death and enjoyed the process, when it came to his own turn, Adrian's heart inevitably became terrified.

He was writhing and grotesquely twisting his body on the ground, trying to find a way to survive; he looked like a wriggling caterpillar.

Unfortunately, Adrian only kept bumping into things, increasing his pain, and didn't find even a sliver of hope for survival.

The darkness intensified the fear, causing it to cling to Adrian like a bone-deep wound, making him sweat profusely, his heart pound in his chest, and he dared not close his eyes, tears even streaming down his face from fear.

It wasn't that they felt guilty about their past actions, but rather that they were afraid of being treated the same way.

Adrian's eyes lit up when he heard the noise coming from upstairs.

Someone's there!

It sounded like a stranger, not the girl he met last night! And there was a child's voice too!

Since he's just a child, he'll be easy to fool and will obediently listen to you, so let him go!

Damn it... Once he gets out of here, he'll definitely teach those two wretched brats a lesson and make them pay the price!

Feitan, who was woken up by Uvogin, was very annoyed but couldn't fall back asleep, so he simply went downstairs. However, the dead fish was still feeling annoyed and slightly bored due to exhaustion.

He was dressed in all black, a black jacket and black trousers. This all-black outfit made him look even more listless and dejected. He didn't look like a child of his age, but rather like a corporate slave who had been working for many years.

Feitan listened to the people behind him as he walked downstairs. He rubbed his hair and was about to speak when he met the eyes of the person tied up in the living room. He was speechless for a moment, and the sound stuck in his throat, only managing to utter a single syllable "ah".

Phinks followed Feitan downstairs. He wasn't usually a talkative person, but when he was with Feitan, it was as if something had been stuck to his mouth, making it impossible for him to close his lips. He could only talk incessantly, and then Feitan would repeatedly scold him for being long-winded.

Fortunately, he was easygoing, so he didn't take Feitan's venomous words to heart. He would hear them and then forget them, letting them go in one ear and out the other, and they would disappear from his mind in a flash.

The same thing happened this time.

Feitan walked in front, with Phinks following behind, lost in his own world, talking incessantly.

Because it can be explained

Then they collided with the person who had stopped in front of them, and both of them fell to the ground due to losing control of their bodies, falling directly down the stairs.

One set of steps, two sets of steps, three sets of steps...

Fortunately, the two had already descended quite a few steps, so the fall wasn't too serious, but they still had several large bumps on their foreheads, which looked extremely painful.

Veins bulged on Feitan's forehead. He shoved Phinks off him, his expression remaining composed, but his droopy, lifeless eyes were filled with irritation. He roared, "What are you doing?! Can't you see there's someone in front of us?"

Finks also fell hard, but knowing he was in the wrong, he got up, clutching the back of his head, and could only laugh awkwardly.

"Tsk." Feitan was angry, but he didn't intend to do anything to Phinks. He turned to look at the man who was rolling on the ground like a caterpillar, looking at him with hopeful eyes, and walked straight towards him.

He wasn't a particularly gentle person, nor was he in the mood to be gentle to a stranger, so he didn't hold back at all. His rough behavior even caused the man's lips to break, and a few drops of blood oozed from the gap in the wound.

Ignoring the pain in his wound, the man, despite his parched mouth and throat screaming with thirst from not having had a sip of water, shouted at the top of his lungs.

"You wretched brats, what's your purpose in tying me up here?! Let me go right now, or I'll have Bryce skin you alive, so you'll wish you were dead!"

"And that girl, that wretched brat, letting her die like that is too easy for her, I want..."

Feitan expressionlessly reattached the tape to the man's mouth.

There is only one girl here.

It goes without saying who the man is.

"You're trying to skin me alive first thing in the morning? Looks like yesterday's lesson wasn't enough for you."

Ayana was the last to emerge from the room. She yawned, and her light blue eyes, unusually devoid of their usual liveliness, were filled with weariness.

Overwhelmed by drowsiness and exhaustion, Ayana rested one arm on the railing and the other on her elbow, looking down at the man in the living room below. She said coldly, "Have you forgotten? Your Bryce is no longer your loyal supporter. It attacked you and will never again skin your children for human cushions."

Adrian's memories flooded back instantly, and his face paled visibly.

The thought that Bryce, whom he relied on, would never come to his rescue again filled Adrian with utter despair. His body trembled helplessly, and his once proud head finally bowed.

“Ayana…” Kuroro stood beside the girl. He seemed to notice that she was not in good condition today, obviously not as good as she had been a few days ago. His clear black and white eyes were filled with undisguised worry. He was about to ask her something with concern, but the girl saw through his intentions and cut him off before he could say anything.

The girl clenched her fists, her fatigue vanishing instantly. She returned to her usual energetic and endearing self, winking mischievously at Kuroro and asking, "What's wrong?"

Seeing the girl's expression, Kuroro's tense heart, which had been strained by worry, immediately relaxed. He smiled from the bottom of his heart, his eyes narrowed and crinkled with laughter. He shook his head from side to side and said sweetly, "It's nothing."

"Explain." Feitan's words were brief but firm.

He sat on the sofa with his arms crossed, his two droopy, dead fish eyes fixed on the girl, exuding an irresistible aura. He coldly surveyed Ayana, offering no further comment on his words.

"Ayana, you went out last night, didn't you?" Kuroro scratched his face, explaining and adding to Feitan's story while also expressing his concern, "Actually, everyone knows you weren't here last night, including me. Although we understand that you must have had your own plans to go out, and we didn't stop you, we were still worried about you."

He paused, his gaze suddenly lowered, and his voice also dropped. This sudden drop in voice perfectly evoked a sense of guilt in people, making them naturally trust him and not have any doubts about him, so that they would utter all their words.

"So...can you tell us where you went last night and what happened?"

Feitan snorted and turned his head to the side, but did not refute Kuroro's words, which was taken as tacit agreement.

Ayana then noticed that everyone in the room was looking at her.

She glanced around and suddenly felt her mouth was a little dry, but her heart was filled with a warm feeling, so she silently asked the system a question in her mind.

[Which organization and clues do you want to tell those children? That's certainly allowed, but host, do you really want to do that?]

Once you tell them, they'll be forced into danger and share it with you, okay?

Instead of doing that, wouldn't it be better to protect them secretly and let them live a carefree and happy life?

The system's words make sense.

But everyone has the right to know the truth, and the children living in Meteor City are already in danger, living with death and peril.

This concealment is not happiness for them, but rather a carefully packaged and beautified deception.

Even children have the right to know the truth.

Okay, I understand.

[Then I will no longer interfere; it is up to you, host, to decide whether to tell these children.]

Ayana no longer hesitated. She made up her mind, her gaze became firm, and she took a deep breath and said, "Next, I will tell you everything I know. If you are afraid, do not want to listen, or do not want to learn about this matter anymore, you can stop at any time, and I will not mention these things again."
