Chapter 8 The Brigade Leader of Meteor City 08 (Tibetan Mastiff has been repaired...)

The sound of a wild beast panting heavily.

Blood flowed uncontrollably onto the ground, which should have formed a bloody trail, but because the man moved too fast, it became a chaotic mess, making it impossible to discern his path.

An unnatural, sweet, and metallic smell emanated from the man, his mouth filled with the metallic taste of blood, and the wounds on his body even burst open due to the intensity of his movements, causing the flesh to peel back.

The man seemed oblivious to the pain; his eyes were bloodshot, and his face was filled with excitement.

A strange sense of excitement enveloped the man's heart, making his blood boil.

He followed the scent to find his way, moving through the darkness.

Faster, faster.

Faster.

Kuroro felt a sense of foreboding as his heart plummeted downwards.

He flipped through the book absentmindedly, the pages rustling as he turned, but he couldn't concentrate on a single word, feeling as if something was about to happen.

Kuroro simply closed the book, turned off the light, and pulled back a small corner of the curtain to observe his surroundings by the moonlight.

But in that instant, a chill ran down his spine as if he were being watched by a wild beast.

Kuroro's expression changed drastically, and he immediately drew the curtains, but it was too late. The next second, the glass window shattered with a crash, and shards of glass flew straight at Kuroro. He dodged the attack of the glass shards while holding his book and retreated backward.

When he looked up again, Uvogin was already standing in front of Kuroro.

Under the moonlight, Uvogin looked even more like a wild beast whose wildness had not yet faded.

His body was covered in messy wounds, his shirt was torn to shreds with little to no trace left, and large areas of his upper body were exposed, revealing his dark brown skin. Combined with his incredibly strong muscles and tall stature, he possessed a wild charm.

Uvogin's eyes widened, bloodshot, as he stared contemptuously at Kuroro, his tone dripping with murderous intent: "Where is that brat? Take me to her, or I'll beat you to a pulp."

Kuroro leaned against the door.

His heart sank, and he quietly placed his right hand on the doorknob, a faint smile on his face as he feigned to stall Uvogin: "I don't understand what you're talking about."

"Stop pretending." Uvogin sneered, veins bulging on his neck, his eyes a mixture of anger and excitement. "That little leopard cub is here to avenge you, isn't it? You don't recognize it?"

He chuckled coldly, "Tell me now, and I might consider letting you go, and allowing you to..."

3, 2, 1.

run.

Kuroro opened the door with lightning speed and then slammed it shut, trying to lure Uvogin out.

His actions were swift and decisive, flowing smoothly like clouds and water.

But Uvogin possessed beast-like reaction speed. Before Kuroro could even run two steps down the corridor, Uvogin kicked open the door and jumped out of the room.

He quickly caught up with Kuroro, reaching out to grab him while spewing out extremely arrogant words: "You brat, you dare to run away? I'll beat you to a pulp today..."

The door was kicked open again.

The flying door panel slammed heavily into Uvogin, forcing him to stop and catch the sudden attack.

"Who are you going to beat up?" came the girl's sleepy voice.

Ayana was clearly awakened; her eyes were still blurry, and her face was filled with weariness and irritability.

She yawned lazily, walked up to Kuroro, and asked again, "Say it again, who are you going to beat up?"

"They actually delivered themselves to my doorstep, saving me the trouble of looking for them." Uvogin flung aside the door panel that was pressing down on him, a flame burning in his eyes. "I was careless this afternoon, let's have another match!"

Ayana then fully regained consciousness.

She rubbed her eyes, and after seeing who it was, an impatient look appeared on her face. She waved her hand dismissively and said, "I'm not fighting. We've already fought once, and you can't beat me. There's no point in fighting again."

"And it's so late, aren't you going to sleep?"

Since she was sleeping and no one would be going into the room, Ayana changed into her most comfortable pajamas, made of smooth silk, delicate and soft, which even reflected a subtle light and looked very good on her.

She yawned again and said lazily, "I'm going to sleep. You should go back to sleep too. Who's going to pick a fight in the middle of the night?"

[The key character [Uvogin] has been unlocked; it is recommended to maintain a friendly relationship with him.]

Goodness.

System, don't you ever sleep?

[The system is a robot, it doesn't need to sleep, dear.]

The cold, mechanical voice pulled Aiana back to her senses. She was temporarily overcome with drowsiness, turned her head, took Kuroro's hand, and gently squeezed his palm: "Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"

Kuroro shook his head.

He was wearing the pure black sweater that Ayana had given him. Black suited Kuroro well, making his skin look even whiter and reducing his sickly appearance, but he was still too thin.

Kuroro looked at Ayana with bright, obedient eyes, his voice hoarse: "I didn't want to wake you. I was planning to lure him out."

“It’s alright.” Ayana’s voice was still a little hoarse from just waking up. “You couldn’t handle him, you should have woken me up.”

"Hey, don't ignore me!" Uvogin roared angrily, then added, "No, this afternoon..."

Ayana interrupted him, saying, "I beat you up this afternoon, and you're not happy about it, so you want to beat me up back?"

"What?! You beat me up?!" Uvogin immediately became agitated. "That was because I underestimated you and deliberately went easy on you, which is why you..."

Surprisingly easy to understand.

Ayana deliberately went along with Uvogin's words, boasting and flattering, "Yes, yes, you're the best. If you hadn't let me win, how could I have possibly won?"

Her mouth was so talkative that it never stopped. Her pink lips opened and closed, leaving people stunned: "You are the most powerful and strongest person in the world. No one in the world can beat you. You are the most powerful."

It doesn't sound like flattery; it sounds more like coaxing a child.

No one had ever coaxed Uvogin like this before, leaving him bewildered and unsure how to react. After a long pause, he finally managed to stammer out, "Stop talking nonsense, are we going to fight or not?"

But it had completely lost its momentum.

Ayana said firmly, "No."

"No way!" Uvogin wasn't about to give up so easily. He became aggressive again, plopped down on the ground, and said in a furious tone, "If you don't fight me, I'm not leaving."

But in Ayana's eyes, he was like a strong black bear at that moment. She didn't find him scary; she even found him somewhat cute.

"Whatever." Ayana lifted the door panel that had been thrown on the ground, gave Kuroro a wink, and put the door back in while earnestly advising him.

"But in this cold weather, why are you choosing to sleep in the freezing corridor instead of your warm bed? Aren't you just asking for trouble?"

"The bed?" Uvogin was confused.

Having grown up in Meteor City, he had no idea what a "warm bed" meant.

"Yes, the bed, aren't you going to sleep?" Ayana walked to an empty room, opened the door, and said casually, "It's very warm~"

The door was opened, and the scene inside was revealed to Uvogin.

The mattress and duvet cover looked incredibly soft, the curtains were drawn tightly, there were some simple home fitness equipment, and a few sets of neat clothes were placed in the closet.

The unfamiliar scenery, however, gave Uvogin a strong sense of security.

He suddenly froze, standing there dumbfounded.

Ayana's heart was bleeding.

God knows how many points she spent setting all this up in an instant.

She took a deep breath, put on a gentle smile, and said good-naturedly, "How about it, do you want to go in and give it a try?"

But Uvogin closed his eyes, turned his head away, and stubbornly refused her: "I won't try."

He made up his mind to stand guard in front of Ayana's door tonight, and he wouldn't budge an inch until Ayana fought back.

Ayana's lips twitched. She lost patience and grabbed Kuroro's hand, pushing him into the room. She said goodnight to him reassuringly before heading back to her own room.

But Uvogin wouldn't let her go, blocking her path; "No, you can't sleep, you have to fight me first."

Ayana sighed, pondering how to resolve this huge problem, when the system suddenly spoke.

[A side quest has been detected that can be accepted. This quest is mandatory and will be accepted automatically.]

Task objective: Clean up the garbage in the planting area, within two days.

This task requires assistance from others.

Got it!

Ayana rolled her eyes and coughed twice: "Actually, I can fight you too."

Seeing Wojkin's eyes light up, she changed the subject and said, "But you have to do me a favor first."

To date, Uvogin is the strongest opponent Ayana has ever faced.

But…Ayana discovered that he had a fatal weakness.

If Uvogin were to be described as an animal, he would be a massive bear, but this bear's nervous system consists of only one nerve, meaning he is easily fooled.

"What kind of help?" Uvogin raised an eyebrow.

Ayana stared at Uvogin with a smile, but mumbled something vague: "I'll tell you tomorrow, go to sleep tonight."

Ayana was definitely not trying to keep Uvogin in suspense.

She said that because she was certain that if she told him the conditions now, Uvogin would go all out, working through the night to clean up all the trash.

Uvogin stared at Ayana suspiciously for a while before pulling out a mattress and blankets from the room, spreading them out next to Ayana's room, and lying down calmly, directly facing Ayana and Chrollo's astonished gazes.

Ayana no longer thinks Uvogin looks like a bear.

She now believes that Uvogin is more like a puppy, or even the fiercest Tibetan Mastiff.
