Chapter 9 The Troupe Leader of Meteor City 09 (Revised due to fever...)
A new day has begun. The sun is shining brightly, the wind is blowing, and everything is beautiful – a perfect day for going out!
Ayana was not in a good mood when she was woken up early in the morning by the cold, mechanical voice of the system.
Uvogin's outburst last night kept her from getting a good night's sleep, leaving her in extremely poor spirits. Two dark circles had appeared under her eyes, and she now looked listless and lifeless.
Ayana buried her head in the pillow, trying to block out the annoying mechanical sounds and sleep a little longer.
But the system couldn't sense her agitation and continued its relentless broadcast.
Points Balance: 300 points
[It is recommended to immediately replenish special abilities to ensure safety.]
With her sleepiness completely gone, Ayana buried her face in the pillow for a moment before reluctantly opening the system shop.
She can currently only unlock two special abilities.
[Powerful boost.]
【check the details. 】
Ayana already knew this special ability quite well, and she continued to look to the side.
Biomanipulation.
【check the details. 】
[After use, any species can be designated for control. Each use lasts for 5 minutes.]
Although it only lasts for five minutes, it allows you to control a specific creature. If you were to face a life-or-death situation, this special ability could be the key to turning the tide.
Ayana fell into a brief moment of contemplation.
A moment later, she redeemed each of the two functions once.
With few points remaining, Ayana decided to save some points in case of an emergency, just in case, to prevent a repeat of last night's unforeseen circumstances.
Ayana wanted to test [biomanipulation] first to determine the boundaries of its scope.
But before she could get up, there was a knock on her door.
Immediately afterwards, Kuroro's voice came from outside the door.
"Ayana, are you awake?"
The boy seemed to have just woken up not long ago; his voice was very soft, and his still-childish tone was filled with a gentle warmth.
He paused, his tone suddenly becoming impatient, clearly not speaking to Ayana.
"Wait, don't kick the door down!"
The newly installed door was kicked open again last night and slammed against the wall with a loud bang.
Having suffered two severe blows in succession, the poor wooden door could no longer bear the weight and split open in the middle, with wood chips falling to the ground, looking pitiful and wretched.
If the door were human, it would hate Ayana and Uvogin to death.
"Speak!" Uvogin shouted irritably, his foot still raised in mid-air, maintaining the posture of kicking the door.
He was quite adept at using the things in his room. He changed into a new set of clothes that fit him much better than before, making him look more youthful for his age.
Perhaps because they were new clothes, Uvogin cherished them all the more, carefully buttoning up each button of the brown jacket and wearing his dark red elastic trousers neatly as well.
The new clothes clearly put Uvogin in a good mood. He clenched his fist, stomped into Ayana's room, and roared fiercely and wildly, "I've been waiting all night. Don't sleep anymore. Now tell me your terms!"
A "well" character appeared above Ayana's head.
She had intended to have Uvogin stay for breakfast, but now that idea had completely vanished.
"Knock before entering a girl's room."
Ayana, expressionless, casually pulled a book from the desk next to the bed and threw it at Uvogin.
Seeing that the latter easily dodged the attack, Ayana was a little disappointed. She yawned, waved her hand casually, and said, "If you can clean up the area where we fought yesterday within two days, I will agree to fight you again."
It happened in the blink of an eye.
Almost the instant Ayana finished speaking, Uvogin rushed out of the window of the room.
Fortunately, this time he knew to open the window instead of smashing the glass.
The big trouble was finally gone, and the room returned to calm. Ayana rubbed her temples, feeling much more awake, and got up to look outside.
Kuroro was still wearing a black sweater and soft cotton pants. He was very polite. When Ayana didn't let him in, he stood obediently in front of the door, looking at Ayana with his big, dark eyes.
Kuroro's pupils are naturally much larger than normal, but this doesn't give him a scary look. Instead, it makes him seem more innocent and pure, which makes people feel affection for him and lower their guard.
Ayana thought Kuroro was frightened by Uvogin.
She immediately changed her attitude, becoming gentle and refined, and said in a soft tone, "Good morning, Kuroro."
The first rays of morning light streamed into the room through the open window, making the girl's fair and radiant face appear to glow.
The girl wore a silk nightgown, her long, light-gold hair falling naturally over her shoulders. Her eyelashes were curled, and her light blue eyes sparkled when she smiled, exuding a healing aura.
Not getting a response from Kuroro, the girl wasn't in a hurry. She slowly asked him, her soft voice seemingly containing a pool of water: "Kuroro, were you scared?"
The little rabbit is a bit dazed today.
Its ears, which should have stood up, drooped limply on either side of its face. Its tail no longer wagged, and its eyes were dull. It stood there blankly, dazed.
After a long pause, he belatedly replied, "Huh? Um... no."
Although this look is cute, something's not quite right.
Ayana threw back the covers and got up, walking closer to Kuroro before noticing that the blush on the boy's cheeks was unusual.
His breathing was heavy, and his eyes were misty.
Ayana's alarm bells rang in her mind. She reached out and placed her palm on Kuroro's head, feeling a sudden heat in her hand.
Oh no! My darling is sick! He must have caught a chill from the wind last night!
Kuroro's physical condition has been detected as abnormal; an emergency mission is about to be issued!
[Mission Objective: Help Kuroro cool down and restore his health.]
This is a mandatory task and must be performed immediately.
Kuroro's eyes were watery from the fever, and his reactions became sluggish. His mind seemed to be stuck, and he asked haltingly, "What's wrong?"
The voice was slow and weak.
Ayana quickly got up and pushed Kuroro onto her bed.
The sick boy was unusually obedient and showed no sign of resistance. Ayana had just finished saying, "You should lie down now," when Kuroro crawled into bed the next second.
He even covered himself completely with the blanket, leaving only his head sticking out. His innocent big eyes blinked again and again, piercing straight to Ayana's heart.
Kuroro is like an obedient and sensible little bunny.
Ayana covered her nose, silently reminding herself several times, "I can't have a nosebleed." She then bought essential fever-reducing items like a thermometer from the shop, and while coaxing Kuroro, she stuffed them into his mouth.
The little rabbit's eyes were glistening with tears as it obediently held the thermometer in its mouth, staring blankly at Ayana.
So cute!!
Ayana took several deep breaths to calm herself down.
She planned to go downstairs to boil some hot water, make some fever-reducing medicine for Kuroro, and then pour some hot water.
Ayana had never taken care of anyone before, but she still understood the physiological knowledge that normal people know, and knew that drinking more hot water at this time was definitely the right thing to do.
But as soon as she turned around, Kuroro grabbed her hand from behind.
The little rabbit's eyes were moist, and her voice was weak and timid. She hooked her fingers around her little finger, and her voice sounded like she was pleading, "Where are you going?"
No matter how strong a person is, when they are sick, they will unconsciously want to rely on someone they can trust.
This applies to adults as well as to the young Kuroro.
The thermometer fell from Kuroro's mouth to the ground. He frantically lifted a corner of the blanket, tightly grasped Ayana's hands, and his wet eyes, like an unsealed pond, seemed to be overflowing with water.
He paused for a moment, wanting Ayana to stay, but he was too afraid to, so he could only say...
"I'll go with you."
