Chapter 12 The Leader of the Phantom Troupe in Meteor City 12 (Bathroom repaired...)

Kuroro's high fever had subsided, and his face had turned from red to white, but his eye sockets still looked somewhat sunken. He didn't have much of a smile on his face; it was an unusually cold expression, making him look rather aloof.

When Ayana looked at him, the boy smiled, the coldness vanishing in an instant, as if it were just an illusion.

His illness made Kuroro's voice even weaker than usual. He coughed and asked, "Are you applying medicine? Do you need my help?"

Ayana was surprised that Kuroro would suddenly wake up.

Seeing that the medicine for Wokin was almost finished, she quickly stood up and said, "I was just applying the medicine, but it's all done now. You don't need any help."

Kuroro nodded, glancing casually at Uvogin without saying a word, only lightly licking his chapped lips.

The high fever had almost dried up all the moisture from Kuroro's body. Ayana noticed this and quickly poured him a glass of water. She then touched Kuroro's forehead with her hand and asked him with concern.

Are there any other symptoms that are bothering you?

The small, cool hand made Kuroro pause for a few seconds, his reaction still a little slow. After a while, he shook his head and said in a hoarse voice, "No more."

"Hey!" Uvogin, completely oblivious to the danger, suddenly stood up. "Can we fight now?!"

His voice sounded a bit strange compared to the beginning; it didn't sound like he really wanted to fight, but more like he was putting on an act, a way for a child to attract attention.

Ayana didn't rush to reply to Uvogin, but instead asked Kuroro, "Do you want to sleep a little longer?"

Kuroro blinked twice: "No need, I'll become stupid if I sleep any longer."

This nap allowed Kuroro to recover almost completely, and he was even able to joke around peacefully with Ayana.

He smiled broadly, his dark eyes narrowed into slits, shining brightly in the sunlight like a rainbow after the rain: "Are you going out? I'll go with you."

Ayana then turned to Wogin for a reply, but instead of agreeing immediately, she pretended to be suspicious, crossed her arms, and snorted, "I need to check if you've cleaned things up properly before I decide whether I want to fight you."

Uvogin frowned at the questioning of his abilities. He strode toward the door, made a gesture as if to follow, and said sternly.

"I cleaned it very thoroughly, come and see for yourself!"

The weather is great today.

The azure sky was cloudless, with only the sun hanging high above, generously radiating its light.

The warm light made her feel cozy, and Ayana felt sleepy, a tired look unconsciously appearing on her face.

She was extremely busy today. First, she escaped death, then she applied medicine to Uvogin, and now she had to go out to check on that piece of land.

If it weren't for the need to complete the mission as soon as possible, Ayana would never have gone out again.

"Are you alright?"

Kuroro tugged at the hem of Ayana's dress from behind, his innocent eyes filled with worry: "You look very tired. Did something happen while I was sleeping?"

The boy's tone was full of sincere concern, but for some reason, it also carried a hint of probing, which made Ayana feel a strange sensation.

Before she could think about it, Kuroro immediately changed the subject, his eyes shining as he asked her a question.

"Do you want to go back and rest? I'll go get checked for you."

What are you two whispering about behind my back?

Uvogin suddenly interrupted the conversation, glaring at them: "I won't allow you to go back. Since you doubt my abilities, you have to witness my results with your own eyes."

It gives the feeling of a child seeking praise.

Ayana couldn't help but chuckle.

But Uvogin truly put in tremendous effort, and he truly cleaned up that land.

However, the cleaning method is rather special.

In order to maintain speed, Uvogin chose to move the garbage from one piece of land to another, which greatly increased the amount of waste on other lands while cleaning them up, resulting in an extremely bizarre scene.

A vacant lot was surrounded by a mountain of garbage, with only a very narrow road through which it could pass.

This causes the stench of garbage to accumulate inside, making it a veritable odorous bakery.

Uvogin proudly raised his head, as if waiting for praise: "How was it? Did I clean it well?"

Ayana's lips twitched twice, and she didn't know how to reply for a moment.

She glanced back, and Kuroro's face showed a rare moment of speechlessness.

An awkward, deathly silence fell over the air.

Not receiving the heartfelt praise he expected, Uvogin grew anxious and urged, "Say something!"

At that moment, Uvogin was like a goose flapping its wings, trying its best to get attention and praise.

Ayana's gaze held a complex meaning, but she ultimately refrained from uttering any discouraging words. Instead, she subtly expressed, "It has indeed been done very well, but there are still some areas that need improvement."

"What?!"

To everyone's surprise, Uvogin exploded at the slightest provocation, his eyes widening in disbelief: "What's wrong with it?!"

A large, foul-smelling oven was right next to the three of them, constantly releasing a stench that tiny, odor-causing cells desperately rushed into Ayana's nasal cavity.

She covered her nose, her facial expression becoming somewhat distorted, and her voice revealing her irritation.

"Can we talk somewhere else first?"

As soon as she entered the house, Ayana deflated like a punctured balloon, completely relaxing.

But she still felt that she smelled bad, so she wanted to wash herself as soon as possible.

But Uvogin was not happy about it.

He stood in front of Ayana, his face long and drawn, and pressed, "What exactly is lacking?!"

As the distance closed in an instant, the stench returned, even more intensely than before, nearly causing Ayana to stumble and fall from the spot.

Uvogin spent the entire morning in the stinky bakery and was thoroughly marinated. Although he himself didn't care, Ayana's head started to ache from the stench.

She pinched his nose with two fingers and dragged him into the bathroom, her voice almost screaming.

"Wash off the stench on yourself before you talk to me!"

As a result of her upbringing, Ayana rarely spoke so loudly to others.

She was genuinely driven to a frenzy by the stench.

Ayana slammed the door shut again, completing the series of movements with effortless grace and without the slightest hesitation.

The stench lessened instantly, but before Ayana could relax for even two seconds, Uvogin's voice, filled with astonishment and confusion, came from the bathroom.

"What are all these things?!"

Ayana sensed something was wrong.

She looked at Kuroro, who had been standing silently to the side, and when their eyes met, a smile appeared on her face: "Kuroro, can you do me a favor?"

Kuroro: "..."

With slender, fair fingers, he picked up the shower head hanging on the wall. The boy took off his black sweater, leaving him wearing only a white vest and black shorts.

Fortunately, the shower room was filled with hot air, so the boy didn't feel cold; in fact, he felt a little hot.

Ayana didn't teach him how to use everything in the bathroom, she just gave him a general overview, but the boy, with his intelligence, mastered the operation of all the items at a glance.

Shower head, rotary valve, shower gel, shampoo, ...

She's definitely a young lady from out of town; she's quite particular.

I just don't know how she brought these things in.

Kuroro turned on the shower while thinking about it.

As the screw was turned, warm water gushed out of the showerhead.

Kuroro tested the water with his hand; the temperature was just right, and it would feel very comfortable to spray on a person.

"What are you doing?!"

Uvogin stood up menacingly, his whole body on high alert, staring intently at Kuroro. His beady eyes kept darting around, but his tone betrayed a hint of panic: "I'm warning you, don't come any closer!"

Is she actually afraid of water?

Kuroro suddenly found things much easier.

He temporarily turned off the valve, half-raised the shower head, and spoke calmly and patiently with a faint smile on his face, reasoning with Uvogin: "I've already promised Ayana to help you clean up, and I can't break my promise."

Normally, Uvogin would just think that this kid's kind and understanding manner was annoying and deserved a beating.

But at this moment, he keenly sensed a dangerous aura.

Uvogin slammed his head into Kuroro's shoulder, knocking him to the ground, and then charged straight toward the door.

He frantically pressed the handle, but the door was already firmly locked from the outside by Ayana, so his efforts were in vain.

As Kuroro stood up from the ground and walked towards him with the showerhead in hand, Uvogin's nerves became increasingly tense.

In desperation, he tried to kick the door again, but Ayana had anticipated this and had used her points to reinforce all the doors, both top and bottom.

With all his escape routes blocked, Uvogin could only lean against the door, a look of terror on his face, staring at the showerhead in Kuroro's hand as if he had been granted a pardon, muttering to himself.

"I'm warning you!! Don't come any closer!"

"Come any closer and I'll beat you up!!"

"Don't come any closer!!"

Uvogin's roars were not intimidating, but rather comical.

The sound of the showerhead turning on and a deafening scream rang out at the same time.

Ayana clasped her hands together in front of her chest and solemnly expressed her gratitude to Kuroro in her heart.

After about several tens of minutes, a gentle voice came from the bathroom: "I'm done washing."

Ayana rushed to open the door, and as soon as she did, a huge black shadow rushed out.

The shadowy figure was incredibly strong and fast, forcefully knocking Ayana to the ground.

She collapsed to the ground, and just as she came to her senses, she heard a loud bang from the door upstairs, as if Uvogin had slammed his door shut.

...This has left such a deep psychological scar on the child.

Ayana silently complained to herself as she got up, rubbing her sore buttocks, and looked into the bathroom.

Water droplets dripped from the wet ends of her hair onto the ceramic floor tiles, then flowed down the seams into the drain.

The mist filled the entire bathroom, making the people inside appear even whiter and cleaner. He hung the showerhead back on the wall and looked at Ayana.

Perhaps because Uvogin was being mischievous, Kuroro was soaked to the bone.

The white vest, damp and wrinkled, clung to his body, making his skin look like a blank sheet of paper and highlighting his thin frame.

Kuroro's clothes and hair were very messy, and his shoulders were swollen and red, which stood out against his skin.

"What's wrong?" the boy asked casually, wringing out the water from his clothes.

Ayana snapped out of her daze: "You... what happened to your arm?"

"Ah, it's alright." Kuroro smiled, his eyes narrowed. "When I was giving Uvogin a bath just now, he accidentally bumped into me."

What? Just accidentally bumped it!

Did Uvogin just "accidentally" touch it?!

Ayana hurriedly stood up, rushed into the shower room, lifted Kuroro's arm, and carefully examined the swollen area on his shoulder. She said, "Wait for me here," and was about to get the medicine when Kuroro grabbed her wrist.

"..." The boy lowered his head, his eyelashes trembling slightly.

His skin turned red for some reason, and two blushes appeared on his face.

Ayana's heart tightened, thinking he had a fever again: "Why is your face so red? Are you feeling unwell?"

“…No.” The boy still didn’t look up, and his earlobes turned pink.

He spoke slowly, scratching his face twice with his other hand, seemingly hesitating whether or not to speak.

Seeing that Ayana was getting more and more anxious, the boy finally seemed to have made up his mind. He suddenly raised his eyes, but lowered them again the moment his eyes met Ayana's.

"This is the bathroom."

He avoided Ayana's gaze, biting his lip as he carefully chose his words before speaking: "My clothes are all wet."

“So…” Kuroro didn’t continue, nor did he try to avoid the question, and looked directly at Ayana.

What?

Ayana didn't react for a moment.

[Host, although Kuroro is your good boy, don't forget that you're a girl and he's a boy.]

Ayana's head exploded with a bang.
