Chapter 10 Training Program

"I won't," Ye Suixin said, shrinking his neck slightly. He had witnessed Ye Xiyun's prowess firsthand.

"Should I punch you right now?"

"Help! Someone's trying to kill me!"

The two ran and played around, and in the blink of an eye they arrived at the cafeteria.

...

"I heard that Yaofeng Medicine Valley will open in a few years."

"Absolutely, we must try our luck this time."

"With your cultivation at the ninth level of the True Qi Realm? That place is extremely dangerous, it only opens once every ten years, and even Heavenly Origin Realm cultivators can perish there. Are you sure you want to go?"

"What's there to be afraid of? The bold will get rich, and the timid will starve."

"Alright, alright, don't blame me if you die then."

...

Ye Suixin and the other person heard it too, but they ignored it, as these things had nothing to do with them.

After finishing their meal, they told each other their accommodations and then parted ways.

So apart from mealtimes, the two of them hardly ever see each other, but it's still much better than not seeing each other for months at a time.

...

The two parted ways, and on their way back to the medicine pavilion, a tall disciple of about fifteen years old stepped out and blocked Ye Suixin's path.

"So it's you who became Elder Zhao's disciple?" the disciple's gruff voice rang out.

The disciple's name is Fang Tong, and he is a third-year student.

Last year, I heard from substitute teacher Zhao Lei that his grandfather wanted to take on a disciple.

The entire class went crazy over this, practicing desperately and trying to recommend themselves to Zhao Lei, since Elder Zhao was a figure on par with the ten elders.

But this is the result I never expected.

I thought Old Master Zhao would choose a highly talented disciple as his successor, but he only found someone with a good memory.

The students in his class were quite indignant, so they encouraged the simple-minded Fang Tong to teach Ye Suixin a lesson.

Fang Tong didn't think much of it; he had the same idea.

"Yes, is there something you need, Senior Brother?" Ye Suixin asked Fang Tong with neither humility nor arrogance.

Fang Tong had expected to frighten him, but to his surprise, he said, "You're not that old, but you've got quite the nerve."

"What's wrong, senior brother? If there's nothing else, I'm going home."

"What is it again?... Oh, right, I'm here to put your arrogance to a minimum, don't get too cocky," Fang Tong's voice came out, sounding somewhat dazed.

Seeing Fang Tong looking somewhat foolish, Ye Suixin came up with a plan.

She immediately feigned pitifulness, looking at Fang Tong, "So, Senior Brother, do you think I'm arrogant?"

"Huh?" Fang Tong was also taken aback. Looking closely, he saw no arrogance whatsoever; the child was simply innocent and adorable.

Ignoring Fang Tong's thoughts, Ye Suixin continued, "Alas, it's a pity that I have poor talent and low cultivation. Even after passing the assessment, no teacher wanted me. Now that my memory is slightly better, I was accepted as a disciple by Elder Zhao, but my senior brothers still criticize me."

Ye Suixin spoke slowly, sounding extremely aggrieved, as if she was about to cry.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry, Junior Brother. I was also persuaded by others. I also think it's good that Junior Brother was accepted by Elder Zhao. He can relax every day and doesn't have too much pressure to cultivate," Fang Tong quickly comforted Ye Suixin, afraid that he would burst into tears at any moment.

"Really? Senior brother, do you really think so?"

"Really, I didn't know your situation before, but now I think it's great."

This kid has had a tough time too, and it's good for him to be with Old Zhao. This is Fang Tong's true thought.

“Okay,” Ye Suixin replied.

Seeing that Ye Suixin was still downcast, Fang Tong offered, "Junior brother, where do you live? I'll take you home."

He felt quite embarrassed about what had just happened; it was really inhuman of him to make things difficult for an innocent child.

Ye Suixin continued Fang Tong's words: "Okay, I happen to have some questions I want to ask you, senior brother."

After that, Ye Suixin asked a lot of questions, about alchemy and medicine peaks, and even about medicine valleys.

Before long, the two arrived at Ye Suixin's small building.

"Suixin, I'm sorry about today. I'll be leaving now. Come find me anytime if you need anything," Fang Tong said.

Ye Suixin said, "Okay, thank you, senior brother."

He was keen to befriend Fang Tong, believing that having more friends meant having more options.

...

That night, Ye Suixin tossed and turned in bed, feeling rather uncomfortable being alone.

I usually talk and chat with Ye Xiyun, but now that I'm all alone, the more I think about it, the less I can sleep.

Ye Xiyun over there is also...
