"Wow, where did this newlywed couple come from?" the chubby boy teased from the side as he looked at them.
The group slowly walked over, laughing heartily.
The laughter reached Xi Yun's ears, and her face turned red. Sui Xin wasn't much better off. She coughed lightly and laughed, "Aren't you envious? You should find one too."
"Hahaha," Jianjun laughed at this moment, "Our Sword Sect has quite a few handsome men and beautiful women, would you like me to take you to see them?"
The group chuckled dryly, remaining silent, their gazes darting away.
Jianjun noticed this as well and asked, "What, you're unwilling? Or have you already found someone you like?"
"Little fatty, do you have one?" he asked, smiling at the chubby boy.
The chubby boy gave an awkward smile and whispered, "I've got it, but I don't know if she'd even be interested in me."
He lowered his head, his eyes seemed a little dazed, and he dared not look around carelessly, for fear that his seniors would notice.
Fei Rong listened from the side, and for some reason, she felt a little angry and wanted to beat up the fat man. She even clenched her fists.
"Oh~", Jianjun said meaningfully, then looked at Peng Fei, "Young friend, what about you?"
“I have one too,” Peng Fei said, mustering his courage.
Finally, he looked at Lu Cheng and smiled, "Young friend, what about you?"
It's not that I necessarily want to arrange Daoist partners for them; it's just out of curiosity. I thought Lu Cheng was so dull and seemed unapproachable, so I figured he probably wouldn't find anyone suitable.
"I, I probably do... I guess so," Lu Cheng stammered.
The air seemed to freeze for a moment. Even Sui Xin hadn't expected that Lu Cheng would have someone he liked.
"What? Lao Lu, you have one too?" the chubby boy asked in surprise. He had the same thought as Jian Jun, and since they were usually together, he was rarely seen going out.
Upon further reflection, wasn't one of them one of the seven people? And he and Lu Cheng were a duo, which made perfect sense.
Sui Xin also thought of it, and glanced at Qian Yu, who seemed unaware and looked puzzled.
He glanced at the chubby boy again and found that he was looking over as well. He transmitted his voice and said, "Could it really be Qianyu?"
“Most likely,” the chubby boy replied.
After thinking about it, it doesn't seem strange. Qianyu is naturally graceful, incredibly beautiful, and highly talented, except for her somewhat cold demeanor.
"Looking at it this way, they seem to be quite a good match," Sui Xin said with a smile.
“That’s true,” the chubby boy said.
Seeing that no one was speaking, Jianjun quickly stepped in to smooth things over, "Ahem, alright, alright, let's get back to the main topic. Do you know why I asked you to come here?"
Before they could speak, Jianjun continued, "People shouldn't have everything go too smoothly. If there are things you can't do, you have to learn to let go. Just like this mountain, no matter how you climb, you can never reach the top."
"Huh? Why can't we reach the top?" Sui Xin asked, puzzled.
Jian Jun guessed that someone would ask this question, and said, "This mountain is called Wubian Mountain, and this ladder is called Tiantong Ladder. Since the establishment of the Sword Sect, the two have been integrated into one."
Originally, this mountain was called Boundary Mountain. Legend has it that a wise man once reached the summit and named it after it. However, this is just a legend. No one has ever climbed to the summit since, and it has been renamed Boundless Mountain.
"Then why is it boundless? This mountain doesn't even look particularly high," Peng Fei asked.
"Haha, it does look not very high. Even a disciple at the Heavenly Origin Realm could easily fly to the top. However, the height of a mountain is determined by the height of a person. This mountaintop is not the same as that mountaintop," Jian Jun said meaningfully.
Everyone looked puzzled.
"Is the Heavenly Ladder particularly slippery?" Jianjun asked.
"Hmm," the group nodded. They had just tried it; it was like ice, they couldn't even stand on it, let alone walk on it.
But when viewed from below, it looks perfectly normal, just like any other floor.
“The Heavenly Ladder has a unique characteristic: it can externalize the will of the people. Five parts cultivation and five parts talent are required, and the externalized thin ice is the biggest obstacle for you to ascend,” Jian Jun explained.
"In other words, the higher our talent and cultivation, the higher the mountain?" Sui Xin asked.
“That’s right, not only that, but as the altitude increases, the pressure also increases dramatically. Reaching the summit may really just be a legend,” Jianjun said, looking up at the mountaintop.
A person's greatest enemy is always themselves, and the hardest one to surpass is also oneself. To climb to the top of the mountain, one must be more talented than oneself and have a higher level of cultivation than oneself; neither is dispensable.
This is obviously impossible; one can only approach it infinitely, but never surpass it.
“Cultivating on the Heavenly Ladder greatly helps disciples’ cultivation and can speed up their cultivation, so it is listed as one of the five great treasures,” Jian Jun said, adding, “but it is only useful for disciples below the Earthly Origin Realm.”
Even so, it remains extremely important to the Sword Sect.
"Besides the pressure, there doesn't seem to be anything else. How can I increase my cultivation speed?" Fei Rong asked, puzzled.
"Hehe, would you all like to give it a try?" Jianjun said with a smile. "If you want to try, I can take you to the mountainside, not the mountainside, but your own mountainside."
The group exchanged glances, nodded, and decided to give it a try. They were itching to find out more, so they casually said, "Okay, we're willing."
Jian Jun nodded, then looked at Xi Yun, "Of course, young friend Xi Yun's cultivation is sealed, so she can't go up."
"Why?" Xi Yun asked.
"The prerequisite for mountain climbing is having cultivation. Without cultivation, mountain climbing will not be effective. I will bring you here again when your cultivation is restored," Jianjun explained.
