Chapter 3 Xiao Sui Xin Enters the Sect

"Yes, I will be obedient," Xiao Suixin clenched her fists as if she had made up her mind.

Lu Yeling looked at Sui Xin, whose eyes still had tears in them, and felt like laughing.

...

The first peak, also known as Medicine Peak, is majestic and imposing, with a faint medicinal fragrance permeating the air. At the top of the mountain is a grand hall, made of jade, which looks antique and gives people a sense of tranquility.

Ye Hao and his two companions arrived outside the palace gate.

"Young man, could you please give this jade pendant to Li Haoran, Elder Li? Tell him that an old friend has come to visit," Ye Hao said with a smile as he handed the jade pendant to the young disciple guarding the main hall of the First Peak.

The young disciple was taken aback. "Elder Li is in seclusion. May I go and ask Elder Li's disciple for permission?"

Five years ago, after Li Haoran obtained Ye Hao's magical artifact, he had been in seclusion to study it. At first, he thought about how to use the artifact, but later he found that he could not use it. He could only settle for second best and use a magnifying glass to look at the fine structure inside.

"Okay, thank you."

Inside the main hall, ten chairs were placed side by side at the deepest part, representing the ten elders of the First Peak. Li Haoran was one of the ten elders, ranking ninth.

"Ninth Martial Uncle?"

"Ninth Uncle, wake up!" The junior disciple came in and said to the young woman who was dozing off in the ninth chair, while tugging at her sleeve.

The woman's name was Lin Miao. She was stunningly beautiful and had a beautiful figure. She was Li Haoran's youngest disciple and also his most beloved. Lin Miao lived up to expectations. Her talent in medicine was extraordinary. She was already a fifth-grade alchemist. After thirty years of cultivation, she had already reached the threshold of the Heavenly Origin Realm.

This woman was a little eccentric; she loved to sleep, especially while sitting up. Aside from refining medicine and sleeping all day, cultivation was just a side effect. If it weren't for sleeping every day, she would have already reached the Heavenly Origin Realm.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Lin Ling was woken up and was a little impatient. She hated being disturbed while sleeping.

“Someone came to see the Ninth Master with the Ninth Master’s personal jade pendant, saying that an old friend had come to visit,” the junior disciple handed the jade pendant to Lin Miao.

"Oh? A jade pendant?" She recalled her conversation with her master five years ago.

...

"Ninth Brother, are you taking on any disciples this year?" Li Haoran asked Lin Miao with a wry smile. There was nothing he could do about it. The other elders all had a lot of disciples and grand-disciples, making it quite lively. He himself didn't want to take on any disciples and felt lonely.

"Why would I take on apprentices? I'm still sleeping soundly," Lao Jiu said, puzzled.

"Let's take a few. I've seen several promising alchemists this year, how about..."

"No, no, please stop urging me," Lin Ling interrupted Li Haoran, yawning as she replied.

“How about this, I’m going into seclusion for the next few years to do my research. If that person comes to me with my personal jade pendant, can you help me take on a disciple? If no one comes, I won’t urge you anymore.” Li Haoran first told Lin Miao about his encounter with Ye Hao on his way down the mountain that day, and then said this.

Lin Miao was getting impatient. "Fine, fine. He already rejected you back then, so why is he still coming? He's obviously not interested in cultivation."

Li Haoran chuckled inwardly, "It's good that he's been tricked. If he doesn't come, I'll just stay in seclusion. That kid has sword-like eyebrows and bright eyes, and an imposing presence. How could he be willing to do hard labor all the time? I don't believe it."

...

Lin Ling regained some of her senses. "They really came? Let's go out and see."

If I like it, I'll reluctantly accept it; if I don't, I'll just send it down the mountain. Anyway, they don't know about my agreement with my master. Lin Miao thought to herself as she walked out of the hall.

Lin Miao glanced at Ye Hao casually, then looked at Lu Yeling and said, "So you want to be my disciple? You're already at the Earthly Realm, about the same level as me. I can't teach you. You can leave."

Ye Hao and the other person were a little stunned. They looked at each other, not expecting this situation. Sui Xin also cautiously peeked out from behind Lu Yeling to see what was going on.

"Wait a minute!" Lin Ling called out as soon as she saw Xiao Suixin peeking out. She had never seen such an adorable child before.

With a whoosh, Lin Ling appeared behind Ye Hao and pinched Sui Xin's cheek.

"Ah, what are you doing?" Sui Xin was startled and instinctively resisted, but then panicked a little, wondering if she would be disliked and kicked off the mountain for being so fierce.

Ignoring Suixin's protests, Lin Ling exclaimed, "Wow, what an adorable little kid, with such soft cheeks!"

"How about I take him as my disciple? You two can forget about it." Lin Miao said to Ye Hao and his wife, somewhat pleased.

"Fellow Daoist, our original intention was to have you accept this child as your disciple," Ye Hao replied with a dry laugh.

"Oh, that would kill two birds with one stone!"

"However, he can only cultivate with me at Little Medicine Peak. This child's age and cultivation level are both insufficient to meet the requirements of Medicine Peak."

"no problem"

The three then chatted for a while, asking about Li Haoran's situation and discussing the matter of following one's heart.

"Fellow Daoist, this child is quite mischievous; I'll have to trouble you to take good care of him from now on," Lu Yeling said to Lin Ling, looking at Sui Xin.

"It's alright. I was just worried that he'd be too boring if he wasn't mischievous," Lin Miao said casually, sitting on a stool with Sui Xin in her arms and pinching his cheeks.

After being pinched for a while, it felt quite comfortable, so I stopped resisting.

Lu Yeling sensed that the woman in front of her was acting strangely, but she didn't say anything and could only smile apologetically.

"Alright, I'll take care of Xiao Suixin now. Don't worry, take care, and don't bother seeing us off." After understanding the situation, he saw the guests off shortly afterward.

Ye Hao and his wife had no choice but to leave. Although Lin Miao was a bit strange, they were still willing to believe in Li Haoran.

"Little Suixin, from now on you'll be following me. Call me Master," Lin Miao said, placing Suixin on the ground.

"Master," Sui Xin did as he was told, immediately kneeling down and kowtowing three times to Lin Ling. Lu Yeling had taught him these manners that morning.

"Hmm," Lin Ling was still quite satisfied with this disciple for the time being. She just didn't know how talented he was. If his talent was too poor, his fellow disciples would laugh at him. But it didn't matter. None of their disciples were as cute as hers.

"If anyone bullies you, just tell your master, and I'll stand up for you."

"Okay, thank you, Master." Sui Xin felt that this master was pretty good.
