Chapter 39 The Taoist Hall and the Sword Hall

The next day, after breakfast, the two flew towards the seventh peak. Their current plan was to focus on cultivating Taoist arts and swordsmanship, while also practicing alchemy. As for why they chose swordsmanship, firstly, their friends were all around, and secondly, swords looked cool.

As soon as they arrived at the foot of the mountain, they ran into the chubby Li Wu.

He jokingly said, "I can see your fat body from a long way off. Can you even wield a sword?"

Li Wu also saw Ye Suixin and the other person. "It's nothing. I'm a nimble fat man and a sword genius."

Suddenly realizing something was amiss, he asked, "Hey? Weren't you two not coming to the Seventh Peak?"

"Oh, it's like this..." Sui Xin briefly recounted what happened yesterday.

"Top five? There are a lot of monsters among the older students, especially the two classes before us. They suppressed their cultivation and didn't advance, their strength is ridiculously high." The chubby boy subconsciously thought of a red figure, feeling that Sui Xin and the other two were in a bit of trouble.

"Oh? Aren't you at the ninth level? You can't beat them either?" Ye Suixin was slightly surprised.

The chubby boy replied, "No, that's not true. I'm a genius. They're at most a little stronger than me. I was eighth last year. But your cultivation levels are too low; how can you compete with them?"

Xi Yun retorted irritably, "So what if my cultivation level is low? The sect doesn't just look at cultivation level; it compares points."

Li Wu thought for a moment and nodded, "That's true. Anyway, the points are reset every year, and they were just reset a few days ago, so you still have time."

Suddenly, Sui Xin thought of something, "By the way, can we see the points ranking now?"

"Not yet. The rankings are released monthly, so it will probably be at the end of the month."

After chatting for a few more minutes, the group continued up the mountain, intending to first go to the Taoist Hall to learn Taoist magic. Along the way, they encountered Lu Cheng, Peng Fei, and Wu Qianyu, and together they headed towards a palace that was much larger than the others.

Above the palace gate were three large characters: Dao Fa Tang (Hall of Daoist Teachings). Because almost everyone came here to learn Daoist teachings, it was much larger than an ordinary palace. Upon entering the main hall, a peak Xuan Yuan level elder sat atop the steps, flanked by about twenty Tian Yuan level teachers, with many students below.

As the bell rang, Sui Xin and Xi Yun first registered with the teacher at the registration desk, and then found a place to sit down with the little fat boy and the others, ready to listen to the teacher's lecture.

The course arrangement is also very simple; the Taoist practice class lasts all day. The old man in front chants special secret methods to calm the disciples' minds and achieve a state of emptiness and clarity, making their cultivation twice as effective with half the effort.

Disciples can cultivate on their own, ask their teacher questions at any time, and go out to verify what they have learned at any time. There are no restrictions on their comings and goings.

The requirements for the Dao Fa Hall are that you can earn one credit and one point by spending four hours there each day. You need to earn 100 points in one academic year to pass the course.

As Xi Yun listened to the old man's slow chanting, she felt her state of mind improve considerably. She stopped having random thoughts and her absorption of spiritual energy increased significantly. Sui Xin felt the same way and gradually entered a better state.

After the old man finished chanting, the disciples began their own practice. Many people came and went or asked the teacher questions, and the teacher taught them carefully.

In the morning, Sui Xin first used the True Phoenix Technique to absorb spiritual energy for four hours to temper her meridians. She also took the opportunity to conceal her spiritual energy vortex, fearing it would attract unnecessary attention. Then she studied spiritual cultivation methods for two hours, but hadn't officially started practicing them yet, only gaining a general understanding of their contents.

Xi Yun felt the same way; she didn't think this was a good place to practice martial arts, as the space was too small to allow her to fully utilize her skills.

As noon approached, the chubby Li Wu was the first to open his eyes and walk outside; he was starving. Ye Suixin and the others, hearing the commotion, also opened their eyes and left one after another.

"How do you feel?" Li Wu turned around and asked Sui Xin behind him.

Sui Xin shook her head. "It's alright, but it doesn't feel quite right for me to practice my techniques there. I can't fully utilize my skills."

"Hehe, that's what I thought too at first, but then I realized that it wasn't a place for cultivating techniques, but just a place for absorbing spiritual energy and answering questions."

Sui Xin frowned slightly.

Li Wu smiled slightly when he saw this, "In other words, use other times to practice the cultivation method, find problems and then ask the teacher, and if there are no problems, just absorb spiritual energy for a few hours."

Sui Xin suddenly realized, "Oh, I see."

After thinking about it for a while, it made a lot of sense, so I decided to change my plans. Based on what my master said, I figured I would spend about six hours absorbing spiritual energy, two hours practicing my cultivation techniques, and two hours refining medicine each day.

That is, every morning I absorb spiritual energy, in the afternoon I learn some swordsmanship and martial arts techniques, and then I go to the alchemy hall.

After a while, Sui Xin asked Li Wu again, "Little Fatty, what are the arrangements for the Sword Technique Hall?"

"The Sword Technique Hall is relatively easy. For beginners, the teacher teaches basic sword techniques for one hour every day, which is not a big problem; however, after half a month, once the basic sword techniques are basically mastered, each person will be randomly assigned a low-grade Yellow Rank sword technique. For each technique mastered, you can earn 100 credits and points."

"These points aren't easy to earn. Those with high talent might need two months to barely learn one book, and the teachers' evaluations are very strict. You probably won't pass without five or six months of practice. But you're guaranteed to learn at least one book in a year to complete the course," the chubby boy explained casually, as if he wasn't under any pressure.

Sui Xin nodded and asked curiously, "So how much have you practiced?"

The chubby boy said proudly, "Those three are all at level seven, but I've reached level ten. Pretty impressive, right?"

Sui Xin smiled. The chubby boy had two books in a year, so his talent in swordsmanship must be quite good.

The group chatted slowly on the way, then went to have a meal together, and it was already afternoon.
