Chapter 57 Preparing to Make a Move

Peng Fei frowned, then, as if remembering something, said, "I think I understand."

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Lu Cheng asked Peng Fei.

"When I was reading books about sword turtles before, I came across an article that stated that sword turtles typically awaken their first ability, water control, in the True Spirit Realm."

Then, in the True Essence Realm, it awakens a second ability, Wind Control, which greatly increases its speed, hence the name Sword Turtle.

Most importantly, during their advancement, sword turtles are prone to energy loss of control, most commonly manifesting as strong winds or ice spikes that indiscriminately spread outwards. Therefore, there must be sword turtles in this canyon.

Peng Fei paused for a moment, then continued, "I just don't know how many sword turtles there are. Judging from what just happened, at least two of them are about to advance. Moreover, sword turtles are social animals, so it's hard to judge their exact strength."

"What's there to be afraid of? I'm already at the peak of the ninth rank, not far from the True Essence Realm. Besides, I have any pills I want. I can take one down with each hand." The chubby boy patted his chest and said confidently.

"Moreover, this is the first time we've all done a mission together, so it's very meaningful. We need to make it look good."

Peng Fei shook his head, then looked at Sui Xin, "We're fine, but Sui Xin... could she be in danger?"

If it were just the two of them, they could escape even if they couldn't win. However, Sui Xin's cultivation level is too low, and the sword turtle is naturally fast, so it would be difficult for them to escape.

The safety of my partner is more important than losing a few credits.

This is also the main reason for his concern.

Sui Xin smiled and said, "Don't underestimate me just because I'm only at the fourth level. My spiritual energy is quite abundant, comparable to that of a seventh-level cultivator. Don't worry too much; at least I can keep myself alive."

As he spoke, the spiritual energy within his body slowly dispersed outwards, and the powerful pressure, accompanied by bursts of high temperature, squeezed the surrounding air, causing the surrounding rocks to crack under the immense pressure.

They are in no way inferior to seventh-level cultivators.

"Good heavens, Sui Xin, you're too freakish! I thought you were specially chosen for the Seventh Peak because of your talent in alchemy, but I didn't expect your cultivation to be so strong as well," Peng Fei said, dumbfounded, almost unable to believe it.

Apart from Xi Yun, the others were also somewhat shocked. This was the first time they had seen Sui Xin display his strength, so it was understandable that they were surprised.

"I can't help it. The price of having a large amount of spiritual energy is that the advancement speed is very slow," Sui Xin explained, somewhat helplessly.

Peng Fei nodded. "I see."

"Don't worry about me, go on your way."

Everyone nodded, said no more, and walked inside together.

Xi Yun pulled Sui Xin along and gave him three pills. It was impossible for her not to worry.

Suixin didn't say much, and pulled her along as they continued walking.

The formation remained the same, with Sui Xin and the other two still protected in the middle.

Occasionally, a few strong gusts of wind would blow from ahead, but the further they went in, the stronger they became, though it didn't put much pressure on them.

"Coo coo," after walking for about an hour, I suddenly heard a sound.

Lu Cheng, who was in front, raised his hand to signal everyone to stop. "Everyone be careful, there's some noise ahead."

The group nodded and slowed their pace.

The further they went, the louder the sound became, and even the power of the storms they blew increased significantly. The strongest one took a lot of their strength.

Finally, a cave emitting a faint blue light appeared before them. The entrance was covered by a thin layer of ice, and the cold wind blowing out from time to time washed the rock walls.

“This should be it,” Lu Cheng said.

He turned to look at everyone and asked, "What do we do next?"

"Suixin, why don't you throw some of those stinky pills in?" Xiyun tugged at Suixin's sleeve and said.

"Huh?" Sui Xin was completely taken aback by the question.

"What stinky pill?" the chubby boy asked, intrigued.

He casually opened the storage bag, took out another storage bag from it, and handed it to the fat man with ill intent, "These are the things inside, take a look?"

The chubby boy took it and looked inside. He saw a plume of black smoke billowing out, making it hard for everyone to open their eyes. Luckily, Suixin and Xiyun had hidden to the side beforehand.

"Ugh!" The chubby boy's eyes turned red from the smell, and he quickly tightened the bag.

Qianyu and the other two also covered their noses, their faces full of disgust.

"It stinks!" the chubby boy said softly. If he hadn't been afraid of disturbing the sword turtle, he would have shouted it out long ago.

Peng Fei pinched his nose and said, "I think it's a good idea."

"I think that works too."

"Um"

After witnessing the power of the Stinky Pill, Xi Yun's suggestion was unanimously approved.

The chubby boy nodded. "Okay, you guys hide well. I'll be right back."

After saying that, he quietly crept towards the cave entrance. About ten meters away from the entrance, he used his spiritual energy to grab a handful of stinky pills and threw them into the cave, then quickly flew back.

The group hid behind a huge rock, about two or three hundred meters from the cave entrance, quietly watching the entrance and waiting for something unexpected to happen.

"Roar roar roar"

A series of sharp roars rang out, and a sword turtle charged out first.

This was the first time the group had seen the true appearance of the sword turtle.

Before me was a creature that looked remarkably like a millstone, except that its emerald green shell, about a meter in diameter, was covered with crisscrossing patterns, and four short legs and a small head protruded from around the shell.

Unlike what is described in the book, it also has an antler on its head, which looks like the antlers of a newly grown deer.

"Wait a minute," Sui Xin said, pulling the chubby boy who was about to get up.

Sure enough, accompanied by a roar, a second sword turtle rushed out of the cave, followed by a third, a fourth...
