Chapter 82 Shopping

The two strolled leisurely.

The streets were bustling with activity, with vendors hawking their wares and selling their wares everywhere. Stalls and vendors stretched along the streets as far as the eye could see, and there was a dazzling array of goods, especially those in red.

The people on the street were chatting and laughing, radiating joy, as if some happy event had occurred.

Xi Yun felt a little incredulous. She had been to this place before, but it had never been as lively as it was today. "Sui Xin, why does it feel so lively today?"

"Fool, it's almost New Year's in the mortal world," Sui Xin laughed.

Lunar New Year's Eve is approaching.

It's been a long time since I've had a Chinese New Year like this, mainly because my parents don't have this habit either.

He only remembered spending time with Zhang Tie and his friends in the village a few times when he was a child, but he didn't find it very interesting, probably due to his parents' influence.

"This is the most important folk festival. In order to welcome the new year, people put on red clothes and buy red lanterns to decorate their homes, which means sweeping away the old and welcoming the new."

Although I didn't feel anything, in reality, monks are just like everyone else; they all have beautiful hopes for the future, only they express them in this way.

Sui Xin explained that Xi Yun might actually not know these things.

After all, she had lived with her family since she was a child and had basically never gone out.

“How could I not feel anything? I feel great! Just seeing everyone laughing and chatting makes me feel happy,” Xi Yun said, clearly enjoying the cheerful atmosphere.

"What's the point of living alone? My parents don't care about me, and in the end, I'm just having a silly time all by myself."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? This is such a great thing! We wouldn't feel lonely together. I don't care, you have to spend Chinese New Year with me this year, and you have to in the future too."

Xi Yun, with her pampered young lady demeanor, startled Sui Xin for a moment before recovering her composure. "Alright, alright, whatever you like."

"Since it's Chinese New Year, we should do it in a festive manner. Let's go buy some red lanterns and decorate the house. We can also change into a few different outfits and buy some fun things..."

Sui Xin Jian Xi Yun really liked it, and said a whole bunch of things without repeating himself; the originally planned grocery shopping was all put off until the last minute.

The street truly lived up to its name, with all sorts of things available in a dazzling array of styles. Xi Yun was overwhelmed by the variety and wanted to try everything.

"Whatever you like, is it pretty?" "How about this one?"

He kept saying things like that, but in the end he didn't actually buy many things. After browsing around, he only bought a few red lanterns and some paper cuttings.

It's not that I'm unwilling to spend money, it's just that no matter how beautiful the items are, they don't seem to meet my expectations. They're far less beautiful than the hairpin in my hair, so I'm reluctant to take them off.

Seeing a brightly decorated clothing store ahead, Xiyun pulled Suixin inside, saying, "Let's go check out that clothing store."

Upon entering, a dazzling array of fabrics and styles come into view.

The shop owner was a woman, dressed in flamboyant clothes, with a very good figure.

Are you two here to buy clothes?

As soon as they stepped inside, the proprietress's voice rang out, sizing up Sui Xin and the other person, secretly marveling at their appearance.

What an exceptionally elegant couple, a perfect match in terms of looks and talent.

"Hmm, ma'am, do you have any styles you'd recommend?" Xi Yun asked.

There are just too many clothes; if I were to choose them myself, I don't know how long it would take.

"You two really have extraordinary style; you're clearly not ordinary people. Some new styles just arrived today."

The proprietress smiled and led the two inside as she spoke. Most of the clothes around them were ones that Xi Yun had never seen before; they were all strange and wonderful, but undeniably beautiful.

"Recently, with the Chinese New Year approaching, we received two very special outfits today, 'Red Plum Blossoms Reflecting Spring Snow'," the shop owner explained enthusiastically to the two, pointing to a robe.

The robe wasn't very thick; it was somewhat like a skirt overall, and the whole garment was predominantly red—not a bright red, but a harmonious one.

The skirt is embroidered with delicate plum blossoms, and a few white snowflakes adorn the plum blossom branches and leaves, making it look very elegant, serene yet beautiful.

The workmanship is also very exquisite, from the small details of the cuffs to the overall style, it is all extremely good.

Xi Yun was also stunned and couldn't help but touch it.

Normally, she and Sui Xin mostly wear light-colored clothes, but she didn't expect red to look so good, with a unique kind of beauty.

The boss smiled slightly as he observed Xi Yun's reaction.

"This robe was made by a famous master in Xuanyu City. It is made of rare golden silkworm silk. Golden silkworm silk is very flexible and can automatically adjust the size according to the wearer. Moreover, there are only two sets available at present. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, and it is especially comfortable to wear."

"The other set is the men's style here."

The female boss directed their gazes to the side, where they saw a fiery red robe.

Unlike skirts, robes give people a great sense of security, as if wearing one will make you feel warm.

The style is mostly the same as the red dress; you can tell they're a pair at a glance.

“I want both sets,” Xi Yun whispered.

The moment she saw the robe, she was determined to buy it. Wearing these two outfits, everyone would know they were a couple.

"That's exactly what I was thinking," he said with a smile.

Then he looked at the shop owner and said, "Madam, how much are these two sets? We'll take them."

"Haha, you two are so generous! These two sets of 'Red Plum Blossoms Reflecting Spring Snow' are worth two Grade 5 Star Stones in total," the shopkeeper said, beaming with joy.

"A little pricey," she muttered casually, "but we bought it."

Two grade 5 star stones are definitely expensive. Ordinary people don't need so many star stones. Just one grade 1 star stone is enough to buy several pieces of clothing.
