Chapter 127 Lu Qingjia saw his second brother
Lu Qingxiao was a little irritable. Seeing this, he grabbed Lu Qingjia's wrist to prevent him from moving.
The powder of white flesh and bone was poured onto Lu Qingjia's wound, and the wound, which had exposed bare white flesh, instantly healed back to its original state with lightning speed.
The skin that grows back is even whiter and more delicate than the original.
Lu Qingxiao's eyes darkened, and he ran his fingertips over Lu Qingjia's wrist, feeling the smoothness of the wound. A strange feeling inexplicably arose in his heart.
Lu Qingjia, Lu Qingjia has really fallen into his hands.
Lu Qingxiao was still in disbelief; he felt like he was dreaming.
I wonder when Lu Qingjia will wake up.
Lu Qingxiao looked at the unconscious Lu Qingjia, waved his hand, took the bowl of blood, and left the room.
Almost as soon as Lu Qingxiao left, Lu Qingjia started muttering to himself.
"Water...water..."
Lu Qingjia had a dream.
In his dream, he was all white, his figure ethereal and indistinct, like a wandering soul.
The courtyard is surrounded by red walls and green tiles. Inside, there is a peach tree in full bloom, with peach blossoms falling everywhere. The bluestone slabs are almost entirely covered with peach petals.
He stared blankly at the scene before him, wanting to reach out and catch the slowly falling peach petals.
But it was empty.
Lu Qingjia was somewhat puzzled, but then he saw something unbelievable.
The young man had sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, a high nose bridge, and his black hair was tied up high. However, he was thin and frail, and even in the spring when the chill had not completely dissipated, he was only wearing a thin undergarment.
Those thin, cool lips were pale and looked very dry, as if they hadn't drunk water for many days.
He rushed out of the yard as if he had gone mad, acting as if he had gone insane.
Lu Qingjia clearly recognized the person; it was his second brother, Lu Qingxiao.
Lu Qingjia couldn't help but feel puzzled. In his mind, his second brother was calm and composed, and practiced martial arts very diligently, so why would he do something so strange now?
Thinking of this, Lu Qingjia followed.
He followed the boy gracefully to another courtyard.
The courtyard was covered in moss and dust, a desolate sight to behold.
He was slightly surprised; there was such a place in the general's mansion? He had never been there before.
The second brother walked into a room, and then low sobbing sounds came from inside.
Lu Qingjia was curious, but when he saw the room, he was stunned.
The room contained only a few scattered tables and chairs, the most valuable item being the soft couch. However, the edges of the couch were moldy, and a pale-faced woman lay on it, coughing incessantly, as if she were coughing up her lungs as well.
"Xiao'er, come here."
The woman on the sickbed stretched out her thin, bony hand, her dull, cloudy eyes fixed on the kneeling boy, her voice carrying a sense of impending death.
Lu Qingjia watched as Lu Qingxiao stumbled and crawled over, then knelt before the emaciated woman and sobbed softly.
"mother……"
Lu Qingjia was shocked!
He only dared to watch from a distance, and only when he was sure that the two people could not see him did he dare to step forward.
"Second Brother?" Lu Qingjia called out softly.
Seeing that Lu Qingxiao did not react, Lu Qingjia quickly realized that his second brother could not only not see him, but could not even hear him speak.
"Xiao'er, go and invite the general over for your aunt. Your aunt has something important to ask him."
"Mother, but you're not feeling well right now. Should I go and fetch a doctor for you?"
"No need," the woman waved her hand and said, "If the general comes, he will fetch a doctor for me."
Lu Qingjia, listening from the side, was completely bewildered. What did they mean by calling a doctor? And who was this woman?
He had never seen her in the mansion before, and why did his second brother call this woman "mother"?
Lu Qingxiao looked at his biological mother with some worry, but finally nodded heavily, "Mother, Xiao'er obeys!"
Watching her second brother run out trembling, Lu Qingjia followed him out.
But as soon as Lu Qingjia stepped into the courtyard where the peach blossoms were fluttering, she heard a familiar voice.
He was somewhat puzzled, but he didn't intend to investigate further.
But to my surprise, my second brother also stopped in the courtyard.
Lu Qingjia saw her second brother raise his hand and slowly touch the bark of the peach tree, catching a peach petal in his palm.
"Wah—" A baby's cry echoed through the sky.
Lu Qingjia was stunned. Why were there children's voices coming from their house at this hour?
Lu Qingxiao was also stunned. Hearing this voice, his anxiety was slightly calmed down. Lu Qingjia saw that Lu Qingxiao walked into a courtyard.
Lu Qingjia followed, and what happened next shocked him even more.
This courtyard—isn't this Father's courtyard? He remembers playing here often not long ago.
He saw his father come out of the room, holding a small baby in his arms.
Lu Chong held his newborn son in his arms, his face beaming with joy, the wrinkles on his forehead and the smile at the corners of his mouth almost squeezing together.
"Father, please, please save Aunt Chen!"
When Lu Qingxiao saw Lu Chong come out of the room, he immediately rushed forward and knelt on the ground, his forehead hitting the ground heavily, and soon a trickle of blood appeared.
Lu Chong was immersed in the joy of having a son when he was suddenly startled by the commotion. When he looked up and saw that the person who came was Lu Qingxiao, a hint of impatience flashed in his eyes.
He stepped forward and carefully handed the baby he was holding to the wet nurse next to him.
"Has something happened to her?"
The sound seemed to be tinged with ice.
Lu Qingxiao cried, tears streaming down his face. He noticed Lu Chong's expression, but he continued to kowtow on the ground.
"Father, Auntie is ill, she begs you to go see her!"
Lu Chong thought it was something serious, and upon hearing this, he waved his hand dismissively.
"Go outside the manor and fetch a doctor yourself. Your younger brother was born today, and I can't leave."
These words were like an ice pick, coldly piercing Lu Qingxiao's heart.
He looked up in disbelief, seemingly not expecting his own father to say such cold words to him.
He hesitated for a moment, then finally said, "Your son obeys..."
When Lu Qingxiao got up, he glanced at the child in Lu Chong's arms.
Is this the legitimate younger brother?
Looking at the loving expression on Lu Chong's face, Lu Qingxiao realized that he had never seen his father show such an expression to him before.
But thinking about it, it makes sense. His father rarely visited his and his aunt's courtyard; the longest he went without coming seemed to be a year.
Even the second year he came to their courtyard, it was only because he was going to school.
