Chapter 41041 Rainbow Fairy

Chapter 41041 Rainbow Fairy

Xiao Lianhua and I settled down reluctantly in Yunlou Palace - I soaked in the water tank, and Xiao Lianhua found a cushion in the corner and closed his eyes to rest. He placed the box of Yaochi lotus seeds next to him, without moving.

Once I have some free time, the previously delayed plans are put on the agenda again - I can no longer suppress my desire to pursue the colorful tail.

"Little Lotus!" I blew out a string of urging bubbles, urging, "Let's go find the Rainbow Fairy!"

Little Lotus slowly opened his eyes, their clarity clear, clearly not asleep at all. He glanced at the box of lotus seeds, then at me flopping in the water. A hint of resignation and indulgence curved his lips. "...I know. Why rush? The Rainbow Fairy won't run away."

Despite this, he stood up, walked to the edge of the pool, and expertly scooped up my bubble and held it in his palm. "Let's go and meet the Rainbow Fairy, who has mastered the art of transforming light and color."

Nezha had disappeared to some unknown location in the inner hall, and we hadn't informed him. Even if we had, he probably wouldn't have bothered to intervene. I could sense his impatience. But there was nothing we could do; the Jade Emperor had entrusted us to him. I was a little disappointed not to see Li Jing; I'd really liked to see the famous scene where he was besieged by the two Nezhas.

We walked straight out of the heavy gate of Yunlou Palace and asked a passing fairy for directions. When the fairy saw us—especially Little Lotus—she was trembling with fear. When she heard we were looking for the Rainbow Fairy, she tremblingly pointed in the direction.

"The most beautiful palace in the west, northwest is..." When we looked towards the northwest, she left quickly as if she was escaping.

"Am I scary?" Little Lotus touched her face helplessly.

I blew a bubble. "Don't doubt your own face. Maybe it's the majesty that belongs only to Nezha. But when she lowered her head, I saw her blush."

After all, Nezha is the Marshal of the Three Altars who possesses both majesty and good looks.

Little Lotus: ...

Heading towards the northwest cloud road, Little Lotus suddenly raised a question.

"Little Carp, if you had met Nezha, the Marshal of the Three Altars, first, would you blush when you saw him?"

What kind of question is this? I blew a bubble of frustration.

"You look the same. What's the difference between me meeting him first and you first?"

He stroked his chin and thought, "Even though our faces look the same, our temperaments are different... right?"

I:……

After a brief silence, I decided to tell the truth: "Although it may be a bit unkind to say this...but the you I saw in my dream and the current Nezha, the Marshal of the Three Altars, actually have quite similar auras." That arrogance and sharpness are exactly the same.

Now it was Little Lotus' turn to remain silent. After a long pause, he asked sullenly, "Was my personality...as...annoying?"

I:"……"

This question really leaves me at a loss as to how to answer it. So, do you subconsciously think that Nezha’s personality is annoying?

"Hate? No, isn't this kind of personality quite popular?"

No, aren't we going to find the Rainbow Fairy? Why did you mention personality issues?

"That's good." His tone seemed to rise slightly. It was really strange.

We didn't talk any more after that. The wind-fire wheels under Little Lotus's feet ignited red flames, steadily carrying me through the layers of glittering auspicious clouds and the towering fairy palace.

The further we flew toward the northwest of the Heavenly Palace, the more bizarre the surrounding light became. No longer a single, auspicious celestial light, but a flowing, ever-changing halo of colors began to appear, and the air was filled with the fresh, moist scent of the first clear day after rain.

Finally, amidst this rainbow, we came upon the Rainbow Dome Palace. According to a passing fairy maiden, the Rainbow Fairy resides there. As its name suggests, the palace stands atop a rainbow bridge. Before arriving, I had never imagined a palace built on a rainbow, and even after seeing it in person, I still couldn't imagine it. Mythology is truly wonderful; rainbows can become tangible.

"Let's go to the rainbow first! I've never walked across one!" I excitedly said to Little Lotus. It felt like I was in heaven; everything was amazing. I wish I had a cell phone camera at this moment; it would be so photogenic!

Little Lotus was also stunned by the wonder before her, her eyes sparkling with amazement. He held me and carefully landed me on the rainbow. I leaped from his arms, instantly transforming into a human form. As my feet touched the rainbow, I was overcome with excitement. I lay down, caressing the rainbow with my hands, but I still couldn't guess what material this substantial rainbow was made of.

My imagination is really limited. What kind of material would be more reasonable for the rainbow explained in science to be in the mythological world?

"Ayu, what are you doing?" Little Lotus was confused by my behavior. "Do you like rainbows so much?"

I said, "Not really. I just always loved seeing rainbows after the rain when I was little." Seeing a rainbow after a summer rain always surprises me. But I don't think I love rainbows that much. Perhaps as I grow older, many of those so-called childhood surprises aren't so magical after all.

"Let's go to the inner side of the hall." I stood up and turned back into a carp, snuggling in the arms of the little lotus.

Entering the Rainbow Dome Hall, one feels as if stepping into a world composed purely of light and color. Here, light seems to come alive, gently enveloping visitors without causing the slightest glare.

The ground beneath my feet wasn't the ground itself, but rather flowing, shimmering, star-colored sand. Every step cast a tiny halo of light. Above me was a slowly rotating dome composed of nebulous blocks of color, a deep and dreamy spectacle. The air lingered with the ethereal, melodious sound of a million tiny crystal wind chimes simultaneously rustling in the breeze.

Deep within the hall, a figure, with its back to us, hovered in mid-air. She wore a fairy dress woven from countless tiny flakes of light, its hem like a flowing sunset glow, constantly shifting colors. Her long hair wasn't black, but rather a melting rainbow waterfall, flowing with a rainbow of colors.

I:! ! !

Meet a real-life Mary Sue!

She extended her index finger and gently hooked a streak of red light, then an orange one... until finally a purple one. As the light from her fingertip shone, all of it merged into a chaotic cloud. And that chaotic cloud seemed to be infused with life, slowly floating upwards, then constantly changing shape, eventually becoming a colorful arch bridge—a miniature rainbow.

The light in her hands seemed to become wool!

It's simply amazing!

"How amazing!" I couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

The figure heard the sound and slowly turned around.

The moment we saw her face clearly, Xiao Lianhua and I were both slightly startled. It wasn't the stunning beauty we'd imagined, but rather an indescribable, radiant glow that emanated from within.

Beauty is not only a dazzling appearance, but also a deep reflection of temperament.

Her eyes wandered, first curiously scanning the small lotus, and finally landing on me, held in the lotus's palm, within the bubble. At that moment, those wandering eyes froze, a hint of obvious... confusion and bewilderment.

"Who are you?" Her voice was like clear spring water dripping on jade, ethereal and pleasant.

Little Lotus stepped forward and nodded slightly. "Excuse me, Fairy. We have come by the order of His Majesty the Jade Emperor to seek out Fairy Rainbow and learn the art of transforming light and color."

The confusion in the Rainbow Fairy's eyes deepened. She looked at the little lotus carefully. "The Jade Emperor's will? Could you teach me how to change light and color?"

"Exactly!" I immediately straightened my body in the bubble, trying to make my scales shine brightest under the changing light in the hall. "Fairy, I am the new Cloud and Water River God. I have long heard of your great name, and I have come here today to ask for a favor."

I paused, then spoke in the most sincere tone, "I would like to ask you to use your divine power to dye this ordinary tail of mine... into a dazzling and radiant rainbow tail like the rainbow bridge you created!"

I said, looking at her expectantly, my tail wagging excitedly, causing the bubbles to sway.

Rainbow Fairy: “…”

The Rainbow Fairy fell into a brief downtime. She tilted her head slightly, and her colorful hair cascaded like a waterfall, as if she was trying to digest the request I had just made.

"...dye?" She repeated the word, her tone filled with uncertainty. "Dye... the fish's tail? Dye it... into rainbow colors?"

"That's right," I nodded, and the bubbles began to shake violently. "Just like your colorful hair, I also want a colorful tail."

The Rainbow Fairy lifted a strand of hair, her eyes flickering back and forth between mine and hers. Finally, her gaze returned to my tail, the blankness in her eyes gradually replaced by a huge sense of absurdity and intense interest, as if she had encountered the greatest challenge of her career.

She slightly frowned, her ethereal voice carrying an unprecedented seriousness and a subtle excitement:

"This... is a commission I've never had before. Scale dyeing... attaching light colors to living scales, maintaining a dynamic, changing, colorful effect without affecting their water-walking abilities..." She muttered to herself, her eyes lost in thought, as if she were conducting a complex deduction. "Conventional cloud rendering, halo attachment, even spatial refraction and projection... it seems difficult to achieve a lasting and natural effect..."

I:? ? ?

What spatial refraction? Dead memories suddenly attack me!

She spoke faster and faster, and her eyes became brighter and brighter, with the kind of fanatical light that is unique to scientists when they encounter unprecedented difficulties.

"Interesting! So interesting!" She suddenly looked up, her eyes locked onto mine, a startling radiance emanating from her. Her previous confusion and bewilderment vanished, replaced by a burning desire to research. "Cloud and Water River God, this challenge...this fairy accepts it!"

Little Lotus and I exchanged glances, each with a hint of foreboding. Why was this fairy's gaze so frightening?

The Rainbow Fairy raised her hand lightly, and the light flowing in the hall seemed to be summoned, quickly gathering in her palm and condensing into a ball of yarn that kept changing its shape?

With an almost fanatical concentration and excitement on her face, she walked towards me step by step, holding the glittering ball of yarn, her voice so gentle that it was creepy:

"Come here, little carp, don't be afraid, let me see... How should I color your tail so that it will stun the three realms?"

I:……

Help, help! Little Lotus, help!
