Chapter Fifty: Physical Strength at a New Low

I took a bite of wonton, put down my bowl, and ran as fast as I could. Unfortunately, I had lost my martial arts skills, and my stamina had dropped to a new low. After running for three blocks, I finally collapsed from exhaustion next to a beggar's shack. My body slid down the wall, and I couldn't get up anymore.

Watching helplessly as the domineering tycoon carried me back to his house, I was filled with immense excitement. At that moment, I hated the bandit who crippled my martial arts, that bastard.

Don't let me find out who crippled my martial arts. If I find out, I will grind them to dust. They are so hateful.

"Woman, after tonight you will be my woman. Are you happy?"

The voice of a certain narcissistic king reached my ears in a way that was outrageously self-absorbed. If I still had the strength, I would have liked to slap him to death right here.

How can there be such an annoying person in this world?

The domineering tycoon carried me like a sack of potatoes, weaving through the streets and alleys, constantly muttering "woman, woman," attracting stares wherever he went.

Yet no one dared to step forward to stop him, which shows that he was used to being arrogant.

And so, the domineering CEO carried me back to the Lingguang Prince's Mansion and threw me into the mansion's reception room.

A moment later, an old woman dressed in red and green arrived. She looked incredibly dashing, but her attire was truly indescribable.

However, this did not diminish my affection for her. Her dashing and heroic figure descending from the sky was like that of a fairy from the moon palace, exquisitely beautiful, and made my dull eyes suddenly brighten.

This must be the famous Madam Qiu.

"Good day, Madam," I forced a smile, trying my best to appear obedient and kind, hoping for a slap across the face, which might give me a chance to survive.

"My dear daughter-in-law, I'm sorry you've suffered so much. I'll untie you right now."

"Guards, prepare the best wine and food for me. Tonight, your lord is marrying this young lady. Take a good look; she will be your mistress from now on."

As expected, the slap didn't happen; instead, this is the sound that reached my ears.

Who are these people? This is no prince, she's just a bunch of bandits. Who could imagine that the First Rank Lady, personally appointed by the King of Yi, would look like this?

If her son brings home a woman from a brothel whose family background and name she knows nothing about, and says he wants to marry her, shouldn't she be cursing her son for being absurd while trying to find a way to get rid of that clueless woman or even kill her?

Besides, this is a prince of a kingdom taking a wife. How can it be done so casually? It's one thing to not have the emperor's blessing for the marriage, but there should still be the proper etiquette. Even taking a concubine shouldn't be done so casually.

Are you sure you're not both an idiot, mother and daughter?

This is nothing like what's described in the storybooks. I'm in big trouble now. I actually messed with this family of oddballs just to tease someone.

After the old woman untied the ropes her son had used to tie me up, she prepared a few side dishes for me and then busied herself with wedding preparations. The domineering CEO also happily went out with his mother. Only a few maids remained in the room, and I made an excuse to send them all away.

"Help! Someone help! Help!"

After eating three large bowls of rice, I finally regained some strength and ran to a secluded courtyard, where I cried out for help a few times with my last glimmer of hope.

Looking at the wall, which was two or three people high, I felt somewhat helpless.
