Is Chapter Thirteen a dream?

When I woke up again, I was back on my own earthen bed. There was a stove burning brightly in the room, and the whole room was warm. My father, Luo Mingfeng, the head of Luo Fengtang, whom I hadn't seen for many years, was adding firewood to the stove.

It's as if nothing that happened before never happened, and it was all just a dream.

But my perfectly intact legs told me that this was not a dream.

"You brat, you're finally awake! Now that you're awake, why don't you come down and eat?" My dad has a terrible temper, like a firecracker, ready to explode at any moment, and sometimes he even spontaneously combusts. Just like now, even though he could practically burst out laughing when he saw I was awake, he still called me to eat in the tone of someone who had just lost their daughter.

As I got out of bed to prepare for dinner, I asked him how he found this place.

My dad said he found it himself, but I noticed his eyes were darting around, as if he was lying.

To evade my father's pursuit, I set up a lot of deception. I had temporary residences in almost every town and village in Minchuan. I carefully selected this place, and he didn't find me even after I stayed here for several years. This shows how incredibly clever I am.

But it happened today, so someone must have leaked the information. Not many people know about this place, except for me, Ji Ruchen, Xiao Qing, and that guy named Feng Qingxiao.

First, I'm out of the running. Although I was injured in a fight before, I was determined to die and never thought of bowing down to my father. If he knew about my condition, it would only embarrass him. Although I was angry that he took it upon himself to marry me off to someone else, I didn't want him to be talked about behind his back because of me.

Besides, even if I wanted to call for help, it would be too late. I stayed here for one night and was taken away. It would have been too late to call for help.

Secondly, ruling out Xiao Qing, that girl is two-faced and treacherous. She framed me many times at Liangrenju. Now that she's on Ji Ruchen's side, she must want me dead, so it's impossible for her to be. Ji Ruchen's attitude is ambiguous, so that's also unlikely. That leaves only the mysterious immortal Feng Qingxiao.

He's an immortal, with boundless magical power; it's not surprising he could find my father. It seems it's him after all. Let me test him.

"I'll tell you what the man here looks like, how tall he is, and what color his clothes are."

"Handsome appearance, eight feet tall, dressed in black," my father blurted out instinctively as soon as I finished speaking.

I thought to myself, "It really is him," but I forgot that this applies to strangers as well. In my eyes, Ji Ruchen has always remained the same as when I saved him: dressed in white, aloof and proud, pure as jade. Even after I became a pawn, his image in my heart never changed.

To outsiders, however, he was always the ruthless and decisive Crown Prince of Yi Kingdom, with a strong sense of violence, always dressed in black court robes.

Dad realized he'd fallen into his trap and immediately shut up, but I laughed. After all these years, Dad hasn't improved at all; he still answers every question and is incredibly obedient. If my second and third brothers were here, they'd definitely be secretly laughing to themselves.

Actually, looking back now, my father was very good to me, my stepmother was nice, and my younger brothers were quite adorable. I was just too stubborn; I always felt that my stepmother's arrival had stolen my father's affection for me, and this sense of crisis only intensified after my younger brothers were born.
