Chapter 236 Longing Like a Tide

He couldn't help but laugh out loud, "He's already swindled enough money from you, there's no need for him to come back."

"So...you're called Mo Li, right? What brings you here?"

"I mean no harm. I just...want to borrow some—medicine!" Gu Liyan looked at An Qianbai with deep affection. "Would you...be willing to give me your medicine?"

Seeing his adoring gaze, An Qianbai frowned immediately. "I'm sorry, I don't have the medicine you need here! Please leave my room immediately, or I'll have to call for help!"

Gu Liyan was slightly taken aback, not expecting An Qianbai to be so cold-hearted. However, he was also happy, after all, she was loyal to him!

Gu Liyan smiled but wasn't angry. Instead, she nodded politely and said, "I'm sorry, I was being presumptuous. I've disturbed your rest, Xiaobai. I'll be going now."

An Qianbai didn't notice anything amiss with his first sentence, but when he said, "I'm disturbing your rest, Xiaobai," she immediately called out, "Wait a minute!"

Gu Liyan trembled and froze.

An Qianbai stood up and asked, "Is your injury internal or external?"

"I... have internal injuries," Gu Liyan said, suppressing a smile.

"Wait a moment," An Qianbai said, taking a bottle of medicine from the medicine box. "Do you think this will help you?"

Gu Liyan turned around and only glanced at An Qianbai, without even looking at the medicine bottle. "Thank you!"

An Qianbai glanced at him unconsciously, but noticed large patches of blood on his half-exposed mouth and collar. Pointing at his collar in surprise, she exclaimed, "Ah! What happened to you?!"

Hearing An Qianbai's exclamation, he immediately sensed something was wrong and quickly covered her mouth, saying, "Shh!"

An Qianbai stared at Gu Liyan in astonishment. Although his purple eyes were light, the way he looked at her resembled someone else's!

Anle's voice came from outside the door, "Young Miss, what happened?"

Before An Qianbai could speak, Gu Liyan replied in An Qianbai's voice, "It's nothing, I just had a nightmare!"

"Oh. I'm right outside the door. Please call me if you need anything, Miss."

"good."

An Qianbai looked at the guy in front of her who was pretending to cover his mouth with a surprised expression.

Hearing An Le leave, Gu Liyan breathed a sigh of relief. "It's alright, nothing's wrong..."

Before he could finish speaking, An Qianbai shoved Gu Liyan away and angrily hissed, "Bastard! You're so rude!"

Gu Liyan slammed into the wall with a muffled groan and slid down to the ground.

An Qianbai glared furiously at Gu Liyan, who was slumped on the ground. "Get out of here! Otherwise, I'll kill you!"

Gu Liyan trembled as he listened to An Qianbai's harsh words. A sharp pain, like an ice pick, spread through his heart, but he was powerless to refute it.

She slowly stood up, walked towards the window, turned back to look at An Qianbai, and smiled gently, "Thank you for... the medicine..."

After saying that, he turned over and jumped out of the window.

An Qianbai frowned slightly, watching his departing figure, and felt a strange heartache.

After thinking about it, it might be because his clothes and his light purple eyes are very similar to someone else's...

Turning her head, An Qianbai unconsciously noticed the faint traces of blood on the wall. "This..."

To confirm the glaring blood color, An Qianbai stepped forward, but her foot kicked a medicine bottle, the very one she had just given to Gu Liyan!

It must have been my own palm strike that knocked him to the ground...

An Qianbai picked up the medicine bottle, her brows furrowed. "That guy, he suffered an external injury..."

Why did he lie to me?
