Chapter 240 One Shot, One Peace

Mo Chen looked into his eyes, which seemed somewhat familiar, but for a moment he couldn't remember where he had seen them before. He nodded and said, "I guess so."

"In that case, you can help Yin Yang repay the debt he owes me!" Cui Ming said with a smile. "Consider it payment for the Imperial Heaven Sword!"

Mo Chen was completely bewildered. Looking at Cui Ming, he suddenly remembered where he had seen that look before! It was clearly Gu Liyan's foxy gaze, incredibly sinister and cunning!

"you……"

(You're robbing me!)

Before Mo Chen could finish speaking, Cui Ming interrupted him, saying, "Don't worry, I won't be polite with you. Young brother, all you need to do is offer 100,000 gold coins!"

"without……"

(No way!)

Before Mo Chen could utter another word, Cui Ming interrupted again, "I know there's no problem, then I won't stand on ceremony with you, young brother! I'll go check on my disciple first. Let Elder Mu Xiu accompany you!"

After saying that, Cui Ming slipped away!

Mo Chen was speechless, then angrily flung his sleeve, "That old fox! He's forcing me to buy something!"

Mu Xiu coughed lightly, "Young brother, since we're all family, talking about money would be too hurtful. You're the chosen one, and my Sword Pavilion is willing to be your backer!"

Mo Chen rolled his eyes. "The only fighting force you guys have is Yin and Yang. Otherwise, who would need you?"

Mu Xiu smiled and remained silent; after all, their Sword Pavilion had funds!

——

Yisheng woke up with a start. He had dreamt that he was expelled from his sect and died in a deep valley! He wiped the sweat from his forehead, thankfully it was just a dream!

However, a broad figure blocked the sunlight in front of him. After Yi Sheng squinted to adjust to the light, he saw that the familiar figure was Cui Ming!

He scrambled off the bed in a panic, saying, "This disciple was unaware of the Sect Master's arrival and has been impolite. Please forgive me!"

Cui Ming turned to look at Yi Sheng, who was pale and covered in cold sweat. Thinking about the misunderstandings he had made about Yi Sheng during this period, he felt sorry for him.

"Sheng'er..."

Yi Sheng trembled and looked up at Cui Ming. He couldn't believe it; the Pavilion Master had never called him by his childhood name since his coming-of-age ceremony.

"Master, Master..." Yisheng began timidly.

Cui Ming's gaze softened as he helped Yi Sheng up. "So you were waiting for me to call you before you would call me 'Master'!"

“Master, I…” Yisheng lowered his head like a child who had done something wrong.

"It was my fault. I never cared about your feelings."

“Master…” Yisheng looked at Cui Ming in disbelief, but as soon as he finished speaking, his face suddenly changed and he fell backward.

"Sheng'er!" Cui Ming was startled and hurriedly helped Yi Sheng up. Yi Sheng saw that Cui Ming felt a tightness in his chest and then vomited a mouthful of black blood.

"Sheng'er! Could it be that the poison has taken effect?" At that moment, Cui Ming took out Yi Ping's antidote.

Just as he was about to feed it, a pebble knocked it to the ground.

"Did you poison him to kill him?" Jin Yi pushed open the door and shouted.

“You are…” Cui Ming looked at Jin Yi with a surprised expression.

Jin Yi sighed, his face pale, but he still stepped forward. "What you gave him wasn't the antidote, but the final, lethal poison!"

Cui Ming was stunned, and his hands trembled involuntarily. "I... I almost killed Sheng'er!"

Jin Yi frowned slightly as he looked at Yi Sheng. "Strange, why does he look so much like him..."
