From the pitch-black mountains came the howls of wolves and the wailing of ghosts, sounding like phantoms under the dark moonlight. Murong Xiaoxiao turned pale with fright, tightly hugging Xiao Tao, who was walking ahead, her whole body trembling.
Xiao Tao, who was being hugged by Murong Xiaoxiao, immediately felt the soft touch on her back. Her face turned red, and she said angrily, "You, you, you! You little hooligan, what are you doing!"
"Huh?" Murong Xiaoxiao snapped out of her daze, released Xiaotao, and said awkwardly, "I'm sorry, when I'm scared I just want to hug something tight. I used to hug my stuffed animal when it thundered or rained..."
"I'm not your doll!" Xiao Tao retorted irritably upon hearing Murong Xiaoxiao's words.
Murong Xiaoxiao blushed slightly, looking apologetic. Then, she nervously looked around, as if afraid that a terrifying face would suddenly jump out from the darkness.
"Awooo—"
Hearing the wolf howl again, Murong Xiaoxiao turned pale with fright; the howl was truly terrifying.
Seeing Murong Xiaoxiao's pitiful pale face due to fear, Xiao Tao sighed, helplessly stretched out a hand, and said in a mature tone, "Never mind, you can just hold my hand."
Seeing Xiao Tao's outstretched hand, Murong Xiaoxiao felt a warmth in her heart and took her hand without hesitation. The warmth from her palm made Murong Xiaoxiao feel even warmer.
Xiao Tao, in a mature tone, reassured me, "Don't worry, no matter what kind of demons or monsters they are, they'll all have to give way in front of me!"
Mo Chen shook his head, both amused and exasperated by Xiao Tao's words. Pang Zi, standing to the side, glanced at Xiao Tao, wanting to see what this little girl was capable of and whether she was even more powerful than Gu Liyan.
As he moved forward, Pang Zi kept his eyes on Xiao Tao: This girl is so beautiful. If she grows up, she will definitely be a femme fatale!
As Pang Zi was thinking to herself, Mo Chen suddenly grabbed her from behind. Pang Zi stopped abruptly and asked with a puzzled look, "Wh-what's wrong?"
"Idiot, watch your step!" Mo Chen glanced at Pang Zi's feet and said irritably.
Pang Zi looked down in confusion, only to see a steep, impenetrable abyss just a step away. A cold wind blew up from the dark slope below, and Pang Zi shivered involuntarily. If he fell, he would be half-dead, if not killed!
Pang Zi wiped the sweat from his face and exhaled a breath of relief. "Phew, thanks a lot..."
Mo Chen glanced at the abyss in the darkness; there was no way forward. He turned to Murong Xiaoxiao, who had just walked up behind him, and asked calmly, "Are you sure you're leading the right way?"
Murong Xiaoxiao saw that there was no road ahead. She glanced down the hillside and took a few steps back, scratching her head somewhat awkwardly. "It should... be right, right?"
"Should?" Mo Chen frowned, his expression displeased, upon hearing Murong Xiaoxiao's uncertain words.
Murong Xiaoxiao looked at Mo Chen nervously and cautiously said, "I... I sensed that the compass was positioned below..."
Mo Chen frowned, hesitating whether or not to go down.
At this moment, Xiaotao tentatively suggested, "Um, should I go down and take a look?"
"no!"
Before Mo Chen could nod, Murong Xiaoxiao was the first to speak up and stop him, "It's so dark, what if something happens if you go down?"
Xiao Tao stared blankly at Murong Xiaoxiao. Her tone was clearly that of a housekeeper. For a moment, Xiao Tao froze on the spot and didn't dare to say anything.
Mo Chen glanced at Murong Xiaoxiao and said calmly, "Alright, I'll go down with you. Xiao Tao and Fatty, you two wait upstairs."
"Ah?" Murong Xiaoxiao exclaimed in surprise, then realized what was happening. A look of panic crossed her face, but she still nodded. "Okay, alright..."
Noticing Murong Xiaoxiao's fear, Xiaotao immediately stopped her, saying, "No way! I don't want to be with this fat guy! If we're going, the rest of us will go together!"
Upon hearing Xiao Tao's words, Murong Xiaoxiao raised her hand and said, "Okay! I agree!"
Xiao Tao and Murong Xiaoxiao exchanged a knowing smile.
Seeing the two's inexplicably friendly attitude, Mo Chen shook his head and said helplessly, "Alright, let's go down together."
As soon as he finished speaking, Mo Chen raised his hand, flipped his palm, and the peach blossom fan flew out, hovering in mid-air, and then grew dozens of times larger.
Immediately afterward, Mo Chen leaped up and jumped directly onto the platform, then turned around and waved to the others, "Come on up."
Murong Xiaoxiao and Pang Zi stared in astonishment at the large, suspended fan, speechless with surprise.

Seeing Xiaotao reach out to help her, Murong Xiaoxiao snapped out of her daze, reached out and grasped Xiaotao's soft little hand, and jumped onto the peach blossom fan.
After Murong Xiaoxiao regained her footing, Xiaotao smiled gently and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I'll hold your hand, you won't fall!"
Murong Xiaoxiao nodded, her face flushed, and the fear in her heart gradually dissipated.
"You idiot! Hurry up and get on! Are you waiting for me to pull you up?" Xiao Tao said irritably to the fat man who was standing there in a daze.
Pang Zi glanced at the Peach Blossom Fan, then at the dark abyss below, swallowed hard, and immediately waved his hand: "No, no, no need, I won't go down. I'll stay up here and keep watch for you!"
"Bullshit! We don't need lookouts, you coward, hurry up and get on!" Xiao Tao said angrily.
Pang Zi shook his head vigorously. He wasn't afraid of the dark or wolves, but he was afraid of heights. No matter how much money you offered him, he wouldn't go down!
Seeing Pang Zi's terrified expression, Mo Chen couldn't help but laugh and said, "Fine, fine, since you're willing to keep watch for us, then you can stay up there."
