Chapter 324 Death Vortex

Thunderclouds blanketed the sky, seemingly threatening to engulf heaven and earth. Seeing this, Pang Zi, who was leisurely lying in the grass, leaped up and looked up at the sky. Feeling the oppressive power of the thunder, he couldn't help but feel a chill of fear. "What...what's going on? How did the weather suddenly change like this?"

"Wait! A change of weather?" Pang Zi suddenly realized something and hurriedly took out a brocade pouch from his bosom, muttering to himself, "My father gave me a brocade pouch before he died, saying that a change of weather would reveal the secrets of heaven..."

Without further hesitation, Pang Zi pulled a slip of paper from the brocade pouch. On it, written in bold, flowing characters, were the words: "The Mysterious Fox saves the world, eliminating evil spirits. Even in the netherworld, the might of heavenly thunder is free from demons and wickedness..."

"Xuanhu? Could it be...that lord?" Pang Zi looked up at Tian Lei and muttered to himself, "Xuanhu saves the world, what a great person I've met! But only this lord could cause such a commotion."

Realizing that the heavenly lightning was related to Gu Liyan, Pang Zi felt relieved, and the fear in his heart turned into reverence.

The thunder was strange; it came and went in a flash, and in the blink of an eye, the sky cleared up again. What was even more incomprehensible was that the surrounding air seemed to have been sublimated, becoming exceptionally fresh.

Just then, a noise came from the surroundings. Pang Zi looked up and followed the sound, only to see Hua Xiaoxiao and Murong Xiaoxiao approaching with red eyes.

Pang Zi hurriedly went to greet him, "How is it? Have you found the magistrate?"

As he spoke, Pang Zi looked behind the two women, only to find that there was no one there.

Somewhat puzzled, he asked, "What happened? Why are only the two of you back? Where are the masked man and the little girl?"

Upon hearing Pang Zi's words, Murong Xiaoxiao unexpectedly felt a lump in her throat and began to sob, stammering, "He, they... Heavenly Thunder... Waaah..."

Pang Zi's expression changed, and he panicked, asking anxiously, "Could it be...could it be that they were struck by lightning and died?"

Hua Xiaoxiao shook her head and said, "No, actually it was because of the summoning of heavenly lightning that Xiao Tao and Xiao Li were injured, so Mo Chen took them back."

Hua Xiaoxiao didn't tell Pang Zi the specifics, because the fewer people who knew about the demonic scorpion, the better, so as not to cause unnecessary panic in the world.

Pang Zi breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Hua Xiaoxiao's words. "Ah, you scared me! I thought they had all been struck dead by lightning!"

"Hmph, they're all good people. I'd rather kill you than kill them!" Murong Xiaoxiao wiped away her tears, glared at Pang Zi, and said irritably.

Pang Zi scratched his head, realizing he had said the wrong thing, and weakly said, "Actually, I'm a good person too..."

"Hmph!" Murong Xiaoxiao curled her lips and snorted coldly.

Hua Xiaoxiao gave a bitter smile, "I think I'll probably never see them again."

"Huh?" Upon hearing Hua Xiaoxiao's words, Pang Zi exclaimed in surprise, "You, you mean the master isn't coming back? Then, what about the money I have..."

At this point, Pang Zi quickly shut his mouth.

"Huh? What money?" Murong Xiaoxiao looked at Pang Zi with a puzzled expression.

"No, it's nothing." Pang Zi hurriedly waved his hand, then said to Murong Xiaoxiao, "Now that the master has left, let's part ways quickly! After all, our paths are different!"

Hua Xiaoxiao nodded readily. "Yes, I also need to go back to the desolate city to meet up with Zixin. Let's say goodbye here."

"No, no, no, Madam, I want to follow you!" Pang Zi looked at Hua Xiaoxiao with some surprise.

Hua Xiaoxiao looked at him questioningly. "Hmm?"

“My lord is fond of you, Mistress, so I must protect you in your stead,” Pang Zi said without hesitation.

Before Hua Xiaoxiao could speak, Murong Xiaoxiao, hands on her hips, pointed at Pang Zi and scolded, "You're not allowed to go! What will happen to my sister if you go?"

Pang Zi rolled her eyes. "I've already said, my engagement with her is null and void! It has absolutely nothing to do with your Murong family anymore! Go cool off somewhere else!"

"Then you have to come back with me and explain things to Murong Xiaoxiao! Otherwise, you can't leave!" Murong Xiaoxiao said angrily.

"Besides, I can go wherever I want, why should you tell me what to do?" Pang Zi said bluntly.

Watching the two of them bickering, Hua Xiaoxiao smiled slightly and said, "Fatty, since that's the case, you should go back with her. It's better to talk things out face to face. Otherwise... it's no use for the sisters to chase you all the way to the desolate city!"

Pang Zi curled her lip and said, "I would rather die than have anything to do with the Murong family!"

"You—" Murong Xiaoxiao stomped her feet in anger, "You bastard!"

After saying that, she ran away in a fit of anger and embarrassment, wiping away her tears.

Hua Xiaoxiao seemed to have noticed something and asked with some doubt, "Do you have some kind of grudge against the Murong family?"

Pang Zi chuckled awkwardly, "Hehe, Madam, you have sharp eyes, you can't hide anything from me. Actually, most of the infamy I have is orchestrated by the Murong family behind the scenes! And it has indirectly implicated you, Madam!"

Hua Xiaoxiao looked at Pang Zi with suspicion, "Damaged me? What does that have to do with me?"

"Actually, the title of 'Murderous Witch' was brought up by them. Because the Murong family is so powerful, as soon as I made a name for myself, they used the title of 'Murderous Witch' to suppress me and spread rumors that I couldn't subdue you. As a result, despite my great reputation, I ended up with a reputation for being incompetent!"

Pang Zi spoke angrily, then apologized to Hua Xiaoxiao and admitted his mistake, revealing that he had no choice but to lie.

“Yes, you are actually a loyal and righteous person, but you are forced by life. You must never deceive again.” Hua Xiaoxiao did not blame you, but patiently said, “However, you cannot come to the desolate city with me.”

Pang Zi looked at Hua Xiaoxiao in confusion, "What? Mistress, you—"
