The atmosphere was oppressive, making it hard to breathe. Li Hao looked at Mo Han and the others with a tense expression.
"When is your second aunt coming back?" Mo Han asked coldly.
“My second aunt said she went to ask for medicine for Brother Gu, but she didn’t say when she would be back…” Li Hao said weakly.
Mo Chen frowned. "Do you know where she went?"
Li Hao scratched his head awkwardly, "Second Aunt didn't tell me..."
Upon hearing Li Hao's words, not only Mo Han, but also Mo Chen almost rolled up his sleeves and beat Li Hao up.
Just then, hurried footsteps sounded outside the door, and before the person even arrived, a murmur of conversation could be heard:
"Is Lan Ying about to die?" Huang Xi asked.
"Probably not. Last time, even though I was hit by the Seven-Day Death spell, I was fine, wasn't I?" Green Embroidery shook her head and said.
"I think this time it's more likely to end badly, otherwise they wouldn't have called us over," Huang Xi guessed.
"You two stop guessing, just take a look and you'll know!" Cheng Xi said irritably.
As they spoke, the group arrived outside the door, and before they could knock, the door was opened.
"Wow, that scared me!" Huang Xi patted her chest, still shaken, and glared at Mo Chen who opened the door. "You rascal, how come you walk so quietly!"
Cheng Xi glanced at Mo Chen, who was all smiles, and involuntarily frowned. "Who are you? Where is Lan Ying?"
Before Mo Chen could speak, Lan Ying heard someone call her name and came to the door. "Oh? You're here so soon?"
Lan Ying was excited to see Cheng Xi and the others.
Seeing that Lan Ying was unharmed, Cheng Xi and the others couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Are you alright?"
Lan Ying asked in confusion, "Of course I'm fine!"
"Then why did you send someone to deliver the message..." Huang Xi looked bewildered.
Lan Ying stepped aside. "You'll see when you come in."
The girls entered the room, and to their surprise, there were quite a few people in the room. However, what caught their attention was Gu Liyan, who was lying on the bed with a pale face.
"Gu Liyan? What happened to him?" Huang Xi asked with a worried expression.
Cheng Xi frowned. "Could it be that the message you sent was actually about Gu Liyan?"
Lan Ying nodded. "Yes, this guy is dying..."
Before he could finish speaking, Mo Han retorted irritably, "Even if you die, my junior brother won't!"
"Can't you speak properly..." Huang Xi originally wanted to scold Mo Han, but when she saw Mo Han's appearance, she was stunned. Although Mo Han could not compare to Gu Liyan's stunning beauty, he was imposing and gave people an insurmountable feeling.
Looking at Mo Han, Huang Xi was mesmerized: "He's so handsome!"
Noticing the gazes of her sisters, Cheng Xi hurriedly tugged at Huang Xi's sleeve.
Huang Xi realized what was happening and said shyly, "I'm sorry, I was rude. My name is Huang Xi. What is your name, sir?"
Mo Han glanced at Huang Xi and said indifferently, "Mo Han."
"Greetings, Young Master Mo." Huang Xi was once again swooning.
However, Chengxi and Lüxiu quickly realized what was happening. Lüxiu pointed at Mohan in surprise, "You're Mohan, who's ranked second?!"
Mo Han's lips twitched involuntarily; being second always annoyed him. Mo Chen, however, secretly chuckled to himself, thinking, "Just as expected, he's destined to be a perennial runner-up!"
"Report!" A soldier rushed in. "General, Li Jin, the head of a family of physicians outside the city, has come to request an audience!"
"Li Jin?!" Everyone was surprised to hear this name.
"Li Jin, who's ranked number one?" Lan Ying asked, somewhat puzzled. "Why is he here?"
Lan Ying was considering whether to meet him or not when Mo Han spoke up, "He's ranked ahead of me? I want to see what he's capable of! You, tell him to come here directly!"
The soldier trembled with fear upon hearing Mo Han's words, but dared not act without Lan Ying's permission.
Lan Ying shook her head helplessly, "Listen to Mo Han, call them over."
"Yes, yes!" The soldier nodded hurriedly, but his legs went weak with fear and he scrambled away.
"So handsome!" Huang Xi was still swooning.
Before long, Li Jin and Li Erniang arrived at the door, led by the soldiers.
"This is it. You two can go in now. I... I'm leaving first," the soldier said, and then slipped away.
Watching the soldiers flee as if they were running away, Li Jin couldn't help but smile. "It seems the general here manages things very strictly!"
Little did they know, they were simply frightened by someone's cold-heartedness!
Li Erniang thought the soldier was frightened by her appearance and just wanted to leave quickly. "Ignore him, let's go in."
The two walked in, only to find seven or eight pairs of eyes fixed on them. Feeling the danger in the gazes around him, Li Jin broke out in a cold sweat and didn't dare to look up. He hurriedly bowed and said, "This humble subject, Li Jin, greets all the generals."
Li Jin bent down, revealing Li Erniang, who stood up straight. Although Li Erniang also felt the pressure from a gaze, she ignored it when she saw Li Hao and said with a smile, "You brat, what are you doing here? Why aren't you coming over to me?"
The moment Li Hao saw Li Erniang walk in, he thought he was seeing things. But after hearing Li Erniang's words, he was certain that this ugly woman was his second aunt.
Li Hao hurriedly went over and awkwardly asked, "Second Aunt, you, what brings you here?"
"I can go wherever I want, why can't I come?" Li Erniang proudly raised her chin, but when she caught sight of Mo Han and Mo Chen to the side, she was stunned. Under the astonished gazes of everyone, she knelt down on the ground with a look of terror on her face.
