Leaning against the window, Qingge, who was worried about the selection exam, was quietly admiring the flowers when Momo suddenly noticed a red streak spreading out from among the blossoms. She paused, puzzled, "Strange, why is it like that over there..."
A shadowy figure could be vaguely seen moving among the flowers. Qingge frowned slightly, then jumped out of the window and slowly approached the dark figure...
Seeing the red stains on the ground that had soaked the flowers, Qingge exclaimed in shock, "This, this is actually blood?!"
Qingge looked around but didn't see anyone pass by. She was puzzled. "I've been watching this place the whole time. How could there be blood here?"
Qingge thought for a moment and walked towards the direction of the shadow she had seen earlier. When she got there, she suddenly tripped over something. Looking down, Qingge was slightly taken aback. "This..."
Gu Liyan's white hair was stained red with blood, and four or five arrows were stuck in his body. His chest heaved violently, and he looked like he was on the verge of death.
Qingge crouched down and picked it up. "Is this a fox? Could it be...?"
Qingge immediately thought of Gu Liyan, but then shook her head. "No, Gu Liyan is seriously injured, blind, and paralyzed in bed. It can't be him."
When Qingge picked up Gu Liyan, Gu Liyan was already trembling all over, curled up in fear, and groaning in pain.
Seeing Gu Liyan curled up, Qingge said softly, "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you. I just want to take you back to heal your wounds."
For some reason, as soon as Qingge finished speaking, Gu Liyan relaxed and obediently lay in her arms.
Seeing how obedient he was, Qingge couldn't help but smile slightly. "You really aren't him. He wouldn't be so obedient."
Qingge looked up at the flowers and grass around her that had been stained red, then looked down at the fox in her arms. "Little fox, who did you offend..."
Entering the room, Qingge closed the doors and windows, placed Gu Liyan, whom she was holding, on the table, and turned to get the medicine box. At this moment, Gu Liyan slowly opened his eyes, saw Qingge's figure, and stared at her in disbelief, "I, how did I get here with her..."
Qingge approached with the medicine box, and smiled slightly as she saw Gu Liyan looking up at her. "Lie down properly, I'll heal your wounds."
Gu Liyan shrank back, thinking that Qingge had recognized him, but then he heard Qingge say, "Why are you such a coward, little guy? You're so different from someone else!"
Gu Liyan blinked and breathed a sigh of relief: Luckily, they didn't recognize me, otherwise I really wouldn't know how to explain.
Qingge frowned as she looked at Gu Liyan's wound. "It doesn't seem to have hit any vital organs, but you'll have to bear with it for a while."
Before Gu Liyan could react to Qingge's words, Qingge reached out and pulled the arrow out of his body with a "plop".
Gu Liyan convulsed in pain, but before he could even scream, he heard footsteps outside, followed by Yang Wei's voice: "That beast is nearby, we must find it!"
"yes!"
Yang Wei squinted at Qingge's bedroom, thought for a moment, and then walked towards it.
Hearing the footsteps getting closer, Gu Liyan subconsciously glanced at Qingge, who had no expression on her face. She was immediately filled with panic and tried to get up and run away, but Qingge slapped her down. Gu Liyan winced in pain and turned her head to look at Qingge with teary eyes.
Qingge smiled awkwardly and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, I hit you too hard just now. Don't worry, I won't let anyone else hurt you again."
After giving Gu Liyan a reassuring look, he turned to Yang Wei outside the door and said loudly, "Is this General Yang? Since you're here, why don't you come in and sit down?"
Yang Wei was taken aback but then delighted. He was about to go in when he suddenly remembered Princess Qingge's reputation. He quickly withdrew his leg and said, "This humble servant can stay outside the door. I dare not disturb Your Highness Princess Qingge!"
"Hmph, if you dare not disturb me, then why make a scene in front of my palace!" Qingge sneered.
Yang Wei was slightly taken aback, knowing that Qingge was blaming him, and then cautiously said, "Your Highness Princess Qingge, there was a reason for this, and this humble general had no choice!"
Qingge coldly replied, "Oh? I'm curious, is it because you neglected your duties and allowed an assassin to enter the palace and reach me, or are you trying to disturb my rest by doing whatever you want?"
Yang Wei excitedly said, "That's not how it is, Princess Qingge! It's just that a fox disturbed His Majesty's presence, and His Majesty ordered Eunuch Ruyi to capture it and take it back, so I..."
"Hmph, you've gone to such lengths to send out your secret guards for just one fox? If there really were an assassin, wouldn't you have to send me to help you pacify the world?" Qingge sneered. "In the end, it's all because you're incompetent. A bunch of good-for-nothings who can't even catch a fox!"
Outside the door, Yang Wei, who was so ashamed by Qingge's words, looked gloomy but dared not utter a word in rebuttal.
"General Yang, please remember, even my imperial brother cannot enter my palace at will! You had better understand your place. Some territory is not yours, so don't even think about fighting for it!" Qingge said coldly.
Upon hearing Qingge's words, Yang Wei gritted his teeth, his face filled with resentment, but he remained silent for a long time.
"I've finished speaking. If you understand, then get lost!" Qingge sneered.
"Yes!" Yang Wei said angrily, then turned and left.
Hearing Yang Wei's footsteps disappear, not only Gu Liyan but also Qingge breathed a sigh of relief.
Turning her head, Qingge looked at Gu Liyan and asked, "Are you alright?"
Gu Liyan looked up at Qingge, then lay back down, looking utterly exhausted and pitifully gazing at her.
