Chapter 385 Assassination of Qingyang

Green Embroidery entered the room and examined Qingxin, who was lying on the bed. Unwrapping the bandages and looking at the gruesome wound, Green Embroidery's expression turned grave. She carefully applied medicine, re-bandaged the wound, and then looked at Gu Liyan beside her: "I didn't expect that as a puppet, your injuries would heal so quickly. I'm very curious about what method you used to recover?"

Gu Liyan was slightly taken aback and replied with a smile, "You're a doctor, if you don't even know my physical condition, how would I know?"

"Isn't this strange? A few days ago, when I examined your body, there were no signs of life at all; you were practically a walking corpse. But now..." Green Embroidery looked at Gu Liyan with suspicion, "you've completely recovered, just like a normal person!"

Gu Liyan smiled calmly, "I am not the puppet you speak of, nor am I a walking corpse. I have my own consciousness and my own thoughts. I am a normal person!"

Upon hearing Gu Liyan's words, Lüxiu realized her assumption was wrong and hurriedly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. I was just curious about the changes in your body. I also wanted to know how you recovered. If possible, I hope you can help me understand, after all, it was injured while protecting Princess Qingge, and Her Highness doesn't want to owe anyone anything, including a dog!"

Gu Liyan glanced at Qingchu lying on the bed, frowned, and asked, "This was actually her idea, wasn't it?"

“This…” Green Embroidery nodded awkwardly and said, “It is indeed Princess Qingge’s intention. If you have a way, I hope you can help.”

Gu Liyan nodded. "I understand. Tell her I will do my best to save it."

Even without making a promise to Lüxiu, Gu Liyan would not stand by and watch another version of himself die.

Green Embroidery nodded. "Then I'll go tell Princess Qingge right away!"

"Wait!" Gu Liyan called out to Lü Xiu, "Could you... not tell her about me?"

"What?" Green Embroidery looked at Gu Liyan in confusion.

"What I just told you..."

Green Embroidery looked at Gu Liyan and smiled, covering her face, "Was it you who said it, about having independent consciousness and thoughts?"

Gu Liyan nodded awkwardly, "I don't want her to feel any psychological burden, so it's better not to tell her."

Green Embroidery gave Gu Liyan a strange look, then nodded. "Okay, but you owe me a favor!"

After finishing her sentence, Lüxiu left directly. Gu Liyan smiled bitterly: Why did I come all this way?

Approaching the bedside, looking at the unconscious Qingming, he sighed, "No matter what happens, I won't just stand by and watch you die..."

When Lüxiu entered Qingge's room, Qingge immediately asked, "What did he say?"

“Gu Liyan said…”

Before Lüxiu could continue, Qingge interrupted her, saying with displeasure, "He is not Gu Liyan!"

Green Embroidery quickly changed her tune, "Oh—he said he agreed to save her clearly."

Qingge's expression softened, but she still said with displeasure, "He's smart enough. He was clearly a puppet brought by Gu Liyan, but he didn't come to save me at the crucial moment. In the end, he even sent a dog to do it. If he didn't save me, who would?"

Green Embroidery opened her mouth as if to say something, but didn't say anything, keeping her head down and lost in thought.

Qingge noticed that Lüxiu seemed preoccupied and asked, "Lüxiu, if you have something on your mind, tell me. Don't keep it to yourself."

Green Embroidery pursed her lips and said, "Princess Qingge, I don't think we should be so cold to him. After all, he was sent by Gu Liyan to protect you..."

"Hmph, protect me? That's easy for you to say, but you didn't even show up when it mattered!" Qingge said irritably.

Seeing Qingge's displeasure, Lüxiu simply stopped speaking well of Gu Liyan.

The two chatted for a while when they suddenly heard a dog barking next door. Qingge's face lit up with joy. "Qingqing is awake! Let's go check it out!"

Seeing Qingge's delighted expression, Lüxiu sighed helplessly...

It was clear that it was now lively and energetic, pacing on the bed with a furrowed brow and an anxious expression, constantly whimpering, as if it were crying out, or even lamenting.

Qingge pushed open the door and went straight to it. Seeing that it was full of energy, she excitedly exclaimed, "It's clear! That's great, you're finally alright!"

Qingge looked at Qingqing with delight, bent down to meet its gaze, and said, "When you collapsed in my arms covered in blood, I was so worried!"

"Awoo~" Qingqi raised her head, glanced at Qingge, and responded with a muffled sound.

Qingge looked down and saw that Qingzhi's injuries had mostly healed. She reached out her arms to hug it and said, "Come here, come to me!"

Qingge reached out to pick up Qingqing, but Qingqing dodged Qingge's hand and jumped into Gu Liyan's arms, who was leaning against the headboard.

Qing jumped into his arms, and Gu Liyan finally came to his senses. He wearily raised his eyes and looked at Qing lying in his arms, weakly saying, "I'm tired, don't make a fuss..."

"Are you alright?" Qingge finally noticed Gu Liyan. He looked pale, covered in sweat, and pale-lipped, and asked with concern.

Seeing Qingge standing in front of him, Gu Liyan was stunned for a moment before speaking, "Princess Qing... I, I'm fine..."

"Awoo..." Qing suddenly looked at Gu Liyan with a reluctant expression and started whimpering.

Gu Liyan looked clearly and said softly, "I'll be fine after a rest..."

Hearing Gu Liyan speak weakly, Qingge looked at him with some concern and said, "If you're too tired, you should take a nap."

Hearing Qingge's concern for him, Gu Liyan paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Yeah, I'll be fine after a good night's sleep."

Qingge nodded, her voice much lower, "Then you should rest. I'll take Qing to the next room."
