Beneath the abyss of gravity, all that is visible is darkness...
"What's going on! Doesn't Qingqiu even have a luminous pearl anymore? It's all pitch black. If it weren't for my good eyesight, I would have fallen!" Ping'er muttered, kicking away a stone at her feet.
The palm-sized rock was kicked away, and when it landed, it made a "thud" and smashed into the ground, creating a crater.
After a loud bang, a strange green light suddenly flashed in the pitch-black vision.
Ping'er's eyes lit up immediately, "Finally found you—the Reincarnation Compass!"
Ping'er was as light as a swallow, and she ran directly towards the green light, arriving at the source of the light in just a few breaths.
The Reincarnation Compass, emitting a faint green light, hovered in mid-air. Ping'er smiled and was about to reach out to take it down when a voice suddenly sounded behind her:
I advise you not to touch it!
"who?!"
Ping'er turned around in fright and saw a man walking towards her from the darkness deep in the forest behind her.
Ping'er watched the newcomer warily, thinking to herself, "I never imagined that there would be someone in this world who could evade my divine sense detection—"
The man walked in, wearing a purple robe and a mask that obscured his face. He stopped ten meters away from Ping'er.
Ping'er scrutinized the man, unable to discern any information from him, and asked in confusion, "You must be the guardian of this divine artifact?"
"A guardian of the divine artifact?" Upon hearing Ping'er's words, the man smirked and said, "I don't want to be a guardian. I'd rather... become the user of this divine artifact!"
Ping'er's expression changed upon hearing this, and she immediately became wary. "You've come to steal the divine artifact!"
"Heh, stealing?" The man in purple laughed as he looked at Ping'er. "If I were stealing, then what did your thoughts just now amount to?"
"Take it?" the man in purple said with a meaningful smile.
“I…” Ping’er glared at him. She didn’t say anything.
Seeing Ping'er speechless, the man in purple smiled and said, "It seems we have the same goal; we both want to steal this divine artifact..."
Ping'er rolled her eyes, and said without batting an eye, "Who wanted to steal it? I just... just wanted to take a look!"
The man in purple couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing this. "Alright, now that you've seen it, can you leave?"
"I'm not leaving!" Ping'er said, hands on her hips and a frown on her face. "If I leave, you'll take the artifact with you! I'm going to keep an eye on you!"
"Hehe! You're not looking at me, you're looking at the divine artifact, aren't you?" the purple-robed man chuckled.
"I don't care! I'm going to keep an eye on you! You're not allowed to touch the artifact!" Ping'er pouted and stared intently at the man in purple.
Seeing that Ping'er had no intention of leaving, the man in purple smiled bitterly and said, "To tell you the truth, I actually found the artifact a long time ago, but I can't take it away by myself!"
Ping'er asked in confusion, "What? Is it because it's too heavy?"
The man in purple said with a wry smile, "It's not because it's heavy, but as far as I know, this artifact can only be used by two people at the same time. If one person operates it alone, something terrible will definitely happen..."
Upon hearing the man in purple say this, Ping'er's face immediately tensed up as she asked, "What...what terrible thing will happen?"
Seeing Ping'er's flustered expression, the man in purple chuckled and said, "Why don't you try it yourself!"
Ping'er said irritably, "Why don't you try it yourself? Why do you make me try it!"
The man in purple laughed and said, "I've tried it before!"
Ping'er blinked and asked curiously, "Have you tried it?"
The man in purple smiled mysteriously, "Heavenly secrets cannot be revealed!"
Ping'er rolled her eyes and revealed a sly smile. "Is that so? Since you won't tell me, then I'll give it a try."
After saying that, Ping'er reached out her hand to touch the artifact.
The man in purple hurriedly exclaimed, "Don't touch it!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the man in purple flashed forward like lightning, appearing in front of Ping'er and grabbing her hand with lightning speed.
Ping'er had actually been moving in slow motion and had stopped halfway through, but she was still quite startled to see the purple-clad man move with lightning speed.
Seeing that he had stopped Ping'er in time, the man in purple said irritably, "Do you know? You almost caused a huge disaster!"
Ping'er looked at the man in purple, revealing her little tiger teeth with a grin, and said, "Hehe, I was just teasing you! Look how nervous you are!"
nervous?
The man in purple subconsciously touched his face, and upon finding the mask still on, he breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness, the mask is still on!"
Looking at Ping'er, she said irritably, "You can't even see what I look like, yet you lied to me and said I was nervous!"
Ping'er pouted and said, "Who said your nervousness is visible on your face? You've squeezed my hand so hard it hurts, that's how I can tell!"
The man in purple immediately realized what had happened and hurriedly let go of her hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!"
After saying that, he hurriedly let go of Ping'er's hand.
Seeing the man in purple's respectful attitude, Ping'er waved her hand magnanimously and said, "No need to apologize to me! Actually, it's partly my fault. I wanted to verify whether what you said was true or not."
The man in purple blinked his purple eyes, looking at Ping'er with a puzzled expression. "Verification? Verify what?"
"Of course, it's to verify if the method for using the artifact you just described is true!" Ping'er said with a smile. "Now I know, what you said is true! I can tell from how nervous you are that this thing is really terrifying!"
The man in purple rolled his eyes: What an audacious little girl!
