Chapter 452 Witnessing People's Hearts

"No! It's too long, Xiao Li's body won't be able to take it!" Mo Bai bargained, holding up three fingers, "Three days!"

"No way! Seven days!" Gu Yan glared at Mo Bai and said irritably.

"Five days!" Mo Bai angrily held up five fingers and said vehemently, "After five days, you must release him yourself!"

"Fine! Five days it is! I've had the worst luck in eight lifetimes to get things done for you!" Gu Yan said angrily.

"Hmph, I'm the one who's unlucky to know you two!" Mo Bai muttered under his breath.

Gu Yan didn't hear Mo Bai's words clearly and asked, "What did you say?"

"I said, if there's nothing else, I'll go back!" Mo Bai said, then turned and left without looking back.

Seeing Mo Bai's nonchalant attitude, Gu Yan angrily said, "If this guy can rule the Ancient Wilderness World, I would rather live in seclusion for a thousand years than enter the world!"

—On the other side

Gu Liyan was confined in the cold and damp for four days and four nights, but her health deteriorated day by day. She was in a daze, sometimes awake and sometimes asleep, unaware of time or temperature, only feeling unbearably hot and cold, and experiencing sharp pains in her chest at times.

On the fifth night, when Gu Liyan fell asleep again, Gu Yan came to the solitary confinement room alone.

Gu Yan thought that he could secretly lift the restriction and then wait for Gu Liyan to discover that the restriction had been lifted so that he could come out and avoid losing face by personally inviting him out.

Gu Yan was making plans in his mind, and his face was full of worry. After lifting the restriction, he was about to leave when he coughed lightly to remind everyone, "Ahem, you... I've already checked with Mo Bai and the others. You didn't intentionally invade the demon territory, so I'm here to lift the restriction. You can go back and rest in three hours."

After finishing speaking, Gu Yan prepared to leave, but did not hear any sound from Gu Liyan. He looked at the dark confinement room in confusion, only to find Gu Liyan sleeping soundly in the corner.

Gu Yan frowned, then raised his voice and said, "Hey, you can come out today!"

Gu Liyan remained silent and motionless, which made Gu Yan frown even more, and he decided to go in and find out what was going on.

Pushing open the door to the solitary confinement cell, Gu Yan was immediately enveloped by a bone-chilling cold. Even he was affected by it. Gu Yan couldn't help but curse inwardly, "Why is this place so cold? No wonder those little demons who made mistakes don't dare to go into the solitary confinement cell anymore."

As she spoke, Gu Yan walked inside and saw Gu Liyan huddled in a corner with her back to him. She immediately said irritably, "Do you want me to ask you to leave? It's so cold, I really don't know how you can stand it!"

In the pitch-black solitary confinement cell, Gu Liyan remained motionless, seemingly oblivious to everything.

Gu Yan impatiently kicked him hard, cursing, "You brat, stop pretending to be dead and get up!"

With a kick, Gu Yan's body moved slightly due to inertia, then there was a "plop" sound, and then there was silence again, and everything returned to calm.

After a few seconds of silence, Gu Yan sensed something was wrong; she could smell blood in the air. She quickly knelt down and turned Gu Liyan's body over. Her eyes widened in shock:

Gu Liyan was wearing a mask, and his eyes were closed. You could see his furrowed brows. Gu Yan took off Gu Liyan's mask and was stunned to see that he had the same face as Mo Bai.

Although this wasn't the first time they'd met, Gu Liyan always seemed distinctly different from Mo Bai. His face always wore a gentle smile, like a spring breeze, bringing warmth to people.

But this time when I saw him, there was no smile, only a frozen look of pain on his face, which made those who saw him feel sorry for him.

Not only that, Gu Yan looked at his deathly pale face, which was covered with a layer of frost. Dried black blood remained at the corners of his mouth, along with fresh blood that had just been spat out. He looked extremely weak...

"Are you alright? Hey!" Gu Yan didn't know what to call him, so he hurriedly shook Gu Liyan hard.

Gu Liyan shuddered and vomited blood again, which startled Gu Yan so much that he almost knocked Gu Liyan to the ground.

Seeing that Gu Liyan was already unconscious, Gu Yan was worried that Mo Bai would find out and scold him again, so he had no choice but to pick up Gu Liyan and run towards his room.

Fortunately, it was still early and no one saw it. Otherwise, even if Mo Bai didn't find out, Gu Li, who was always gossiping, would have found out.

When Gu Yan brought Gu Liyan back to the room and placed her on the bed, the frost on Gu Liyan's face had faded, leaving only small water droplets covering it, as if she had broken out in a fine layer of cold sweat.

Seeing Gu Liyan's pale face, Gu Yan felt guilty. If he hadn't sent the seriously injured Gu Liyan to the confinement room, he wouldn't have done what he did...

Gu Yan picked up a towel and wiped the "cold sweat" off Gu Liyan's face. Suddenly, she noticed that Gu Liyan's neck and below were burning hot, as if on fire!

Gu Yan was startled and quickly checked him over. He exclaimed in shock, "How could this kid have suffered from the backlash of two domains? He even has an energy body similar to mine inside him... This shouldn't be!"

Gu Yan frowned as she looked at Gu Liyan, still somewhat uncertain.

Just then, Gu Liyan's eyelids twitched. Seeing that Gu Liyan was about to wake up, Gu Yan hurriedly threw away the towel in his hand and stood in front of him with a serious expression, waiting for him to wake up.

Gu Liyan opened her eyes and saw Gu Yan standing there with a cold expression, not saying a word. Instead, she looked at the room's furnishings, everything in front of her was the same as that of Qianjue Mountain.
