Chapter 458 Trust and Dignity

Snowflakes landed on his shoulders, and Mo Chen subconsciously shrank back, shivering from the cold. "It's so cold! Is this temperature okay?"

Gu Liyan stopped the spell and saw that the surrounding water had turned into ice crystals. He opened his mouth and said, "Did it work? This should... be okay, right..." Gu Liyan swayed and felt dizzy.

"Mo Li!" Mo Chen, who was standing at a distance, saw Gu Liyan swaying and about to fall and hurriedly called out.

Just as he was about to step forward, a figure suddenly ran quickly behind Gu Liyan and caught him in her arms as he was about to fall.

Gu Liyan opened her eyes weakly, and when she saw the person's appearance, she smiled faintly and said feebly, "You're back..."

Mo Bai frowned as he glanced at Gu Liyan, then at the frozen cave entrance. He raised his right hand and gently waved it towards the cave, instantly shattering all the ice crystals with the force of the wind!

Mo Bai let out a long breath and looked at Gu Liyan with a relieved expression. "It's good that you're here, otherwise even if I rushed back, it would have been too late."

Gu Liyan shook his head. "You are the one who saved the demon race, not me!"

Mo Bai frowned as he looked at Gu Liyan. "You want to give me this credit? Why? Do you know that your father and the others suspect you? This is the strongest evidence to clear your name!"

Gu Liyan smiled bitterly, "I don't belong to this world, but everything here is closely related to you, so all the glory and disgrace belong to you, not me!"

Upon hearing Gu Liyan's words, Mo Bai frowned, looking at him unsure of what to say.

Mo Chen rushed over and asked worriedly, "Mo Li, how are you?"

Mo Bai shoved Gu Liyan into Mo Chen's arms and said irritably, "He won't die!"

Mo Chen was puzzled as to why Mo Bai's attitude had suddenly become so cold. He looked at Gu Liyan with a question in his mind and asked, "What's wrong with Lord Bai? Why is he so angry?"

Gu Liyan shook his head and smiled wryly, indicating that he did not know.

Mo Bai walked towards the cave and saw the frozen demon not far from the entrance. He raised his hand and released it.

The little demon shivered, and when it came to its senses, it saw that it was the White Emperor who had saved it. Overwhelmed with gratitude, it exclaimed, "Lord White Emperor! It was Lord White Emperor who saved me! Thank you so much, Lord White Emperor!"

The little demon knelt on the ground and kowtowed to Mo Bai countless times.

Mo Bai knew that this respect should have belonged to Gu Liyan!

Mo Bai waved his hand and said, "Get up. We can't stay here any longer. Go outside and wait immediately."

"Yes!" the little demon replied respectfully.

After finishing his sentence, Mo Bai walked straight inside, repeating the same words as he rescued the people.

After walking a little further in, they saw a group of lesser demons come out. Before they could ask anything, Gu Yan and Gu Li walked over.

"Mo Bai!" Gu Li greeted Mo Bai with a smile, "I knew you'd come back in time!"

Gu Yan, who was standing to the side, also stepped forward and nodded with satisfaction, "Well done, you've finally shown the demeanor of a leader."

Mo Bai frowned, and instead of continuing the topic, he said, "The demons have already discovered this place. We should leave as soon as possible."

"good!"

The three of them emerged from the cave, only to find the little demons who had come out first surrounding Gu Liyan and Mo Chen, barking menacingly:

"Hand over this traitor at once!"

"Hand over the traitor!"

Mo Chen stood in front of Gu Liyan, sweating profusely as he pleaded, "Mo Li is not a traitor! Don't wrong him!"

"Bullshit! If he wasn't a traitor, how come our cave was sealed off by the demons the moment he left!" A burly man who looked like a squad leader stepped forward and shouted.

"this……"

In the end, Mo Chen had also suspected Gu Liyan before. Hearing what the little demons said, he hesitated for a moment and looked at Gu Liyan.

Gu Liyan lowered his eyes, his pale face showing exhaustion, his lips as white as paper, and his whole body was covered in wet rain, some of which was even frozen, making him look extremely disheveled.

Mo Chen, recalling how Gu Liyan had used all her strength to cast a spell, was certain of his own feelings and stepped forward, saying, "Mo Li is not a traitor! He just..."

Before Mo Chen could finish speaking, Mo Bai, who had just emerged from the cave, hurriedly interrupted him, "He is indeed not a traitor!"

"Lord Baidi! Strategist!" Seeing Mo Bai and the others come out, everyone felt as if they had seen their pillar of support and hurriedly gathered together.

"Lord Baidi."

The little demons looked at Mo Bai with adoration, which made Mo Bai feel uncomfortable. He walked past the crowd with a cold face and came to Gu Liyan...

Gu Liyan's gaze remained fixed on Gu Yan, and seeing that he was unharmed, she gave a bitter smile: It's good that you're alright...

Following behind Mo Bai, Gu Yan and Gu Li also arrived in front of Gu Liyan. Looking at Gu Liyan's weak appearance, Gu Yan couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but no words came out.

Mo Bai approached Gu Liyan, knelt down to help him up, looked at him deeply, nodded, and then turned to the crowd, saying, "Mo Li is not a traitor! I intercepted him midway. He had already been severely injured by the demons. If he were a traitor, why would the demons attack him and try to kill him?"

Upon hearing Mo Bai's words, the group of little demons who had previously doubted Gu Liyan suddenly realized the truth.

Mo Chen stared wide-eyed at Mo Bai with some surprise. He didn't know how Gu Liyan had gotten injured before, but the reason he was so weak now was clearly because his magic had been completely exhausted!
