While Gu Liyan was still in a daze, Yan Muxue and Cangyi turned around and disappeared into the clouds.
The moment Yan Muxue turned around and stared coldly at him, Gu Liyan felt a chill run through his entire body!
He knew that what Yan Muxue said about them becoming estranged and mortal enemies... was true!
The clouds and mist gradually dissipated, signifying the end of the battle between the demon and monster races.
The surrounding darkness remained, but a warm light appeared – the bonfire lit by the demon race after their victory. They gathered around the flames, cheering, dancing, and howling with joy at surviving their ordeal!
Watching their carefree, wild, and nonsensical joy, Gu Liyan felt completely out of place with them! Perhaps it was precisely because they were from a different world!
Gu Liyan stood at a distance, watching their clown-like shadows without saying a word.
Gu Yan remained silent among the demons. Suddenly, he saw Gu Liyan's back and, feeling guilty for leaving him alone to run into the battlefield, walked towards him.
"Xiao Li!" Gu Yan came up behind Gu Liyan and asked softly, "Everyone is celebrating, why aren't you going over? Although there isn't much food, there's plenty of wine!"
With his back to Gu Yan, Gu Liyan spoke wearily, "No need, Father. I'm a little tired now and just want to rest."
When Gu Yan heard Gu Liyan say she was tired, she asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell? Do you want me to channel some of my inner energy into you?"
"No need!" Gu Liyan interrupted Gu Yan impatiently, frowning as he said, "I just want to be alone right now. I just need to rest quietly."
Gu Yan sensed that something was wrong with Gu Liyan, but couldn't quite put her finger on it. Without thinking too much about it, she instructed him, "In that case, you should rest for a while. Remember not to stray too far from us."
Gu Liyan nodded slightly with his back to Gu Yan, and walked away.
Gu Yan watched Gu Liyan with concern, and only looked away when he saw that Gu Liyan had not gone far and sat down to rest under a tree.
"What are you looking at?"
Gu Yan had just turned around when he bumped into Gu Li, who was completely drunk. Gu Li squinted his blurry, drunken eyes at Gu Liyan and chuckled, "Oh! So you're looking at little girls!"
Gu Yan covered her nose and looked at Gu Li with disgust, saying irritably, "How much did you drink? Can't you tell the difference between men and women? That's my son, Xiao Li! And didn't you agree with me that you couldn't drink more than half a bottle during the mission?"
Gu Yan glanced at the spot where Gu Li was drinking and saw that there were still four bottles of wine left!
"Hehe, not many, just five bottles!" Gu Li chuckled, holding up three fingers as he gulped down the liquor.
An old saying goes, "Isn't rolling your eyes enough? You can't even distinguish between three and five anymore!"
Seeing that Gu Li was already drunk, she simply stopped trying to stop him. Instead, she shoved Gu Li away and said with a look of disgust, "Get out of here! Go drink somewhere else! Don't come any closer if you reek of alcohol!"
Gu Li wasn't angry. He chuckled, turned around, and, holding the wine bottle, staggered off to find Mo Bai.
Mo Bai leaned against a rock, seemingly lost in thought, lost in thought.
Gu Li strolled over and sat down beside him. "Lord Bai Di! I toast you! Thank you for saving my life!" Gu Li raised his wine bottle and clinked it against Mo Bai's, speaking earnestly.
It turned out that when Gu Liyan and Gu Li had not returned, Gu Li was surrounded by more than a dozen demons. Just when he was about to be defeated by their overwhelming numbers, Mo Bai broke through the encirclement and rescued him.
After Gu Li finished speaking, he immediately poured wine down his throat. The scene of Mo Bai saving him kept flashing through his mind, and he could not forget it!
Mo Bai glanced at Gu Li but didn't care at all; saving him was the right thing to do!
When Gu Li's wine bottle was empty, he saw that Mo Bai was frowning and not drinking the wine. He chuckled and snatched the wine from Mo Bai's hand.
Mo Bai glared at Gu Li, then saw him holding the wine in his arms and grinning foolishly at him. He decided not to argue with him and took out another bottle, opened the cap, and took a big gulp.
Although Gu Li was drunk, he wasn't stupid. He patted Mo Bai on the shoulder and chuckled, "Hey Mo Bai, you're not being fair!"
Mo Bai glanced at Gu Li and said irritably, "I saved you, and you say I'm not fair? What kind of logic is that!"
"Hehe, I mean, it's not right for you to be lovesick here without telling me!" Gu Li squinted at Mo Bai and chuckled.
Mo Bai's old face inexplicably flushed red, and he pointed at Gu Li, saying irritably, "If you keep talking nonsense, I won't save you next time!"
"Oh, look, you're getting impatient!" Gu Li smiled meaningfully. "Others may not know, but do you think you can fool me and Gu Yan? Our eyes are..."
Gu Li chuckled but didn't continue. Mo Bai frowned and remained silent, drinking in silence, his mind a jumble of emotions. He couldn't help but think to himself:
"Could it be that I've really fallen for that willful and capricious woman? No, no! She's the one Xiao Li likes, how could I possibly like that fierce and violent woman!"
Thinking of this, Mo Bai realized that most of the wine at his lips had already spilled. Gu Li said with heartache, "What a waste!"
Mo Bai frowned, put the wine bottle aside, and straightened his clothes, which were soaked with wine.
Gu Li drank his wine, glancing at Mo Bai's actions out of the corner of his eye. He mumbled incoherently, as if drunk, "I never expected that the White Emperor would be interested in women. It's unbelievable!"
Mo Bai glared at Gu Li, but seeing that he didn't care about his angry gaze at all, he simply buried his head in his wine.
Gu Li chuckled, his eyes now clear of drunkenness and a shrewd glint in them. "Even if you don't admit it, I know what you're thinking. I was nearby at the time, and I heard everything you and that woman said!"
