Huo Tong wanted to say something, but Gu Liyan stopped him, saying, "Huo Tong, forget it. Brother Meng is thinking of everyone. It's better not to act on your own."

“You lead the way in the dead of night, and we’ll go to the town together!” Gu Liyan said with a smile.
"Really?!" Huo Tong exclaimed excitedly.
"Shh, don't let Brother Meng find out," Gu Liyan said in a low voice.
"Yes, I knew it! Brother Mo, you're handsome and kind-hearted!" Huo Tong chuckled and whispered.
Gu Liyan smiled bitterly, "Silly child, kindness is innate. Some people may be ugly but are kind at heart, while others may have an evil heart hidden beneath a beautiful exterior!"
Huo Tong scratched his head, somewhat confused by Gu Liyan's meaning. "Snake people are all very ugly, and they're not kind at all!"
Gu Liyan smiled wryly, "Fine, just pretend I didn't say that."
In the dead of night, Huo Tong was fast asleep when Gu Liyan tried to wake him up. "Huo Tong, we should get going."
"Stop making noise, I'm not awake yet!" Huo Tong said irritably.
Gu Liyan was both amused and exasperated. This kid had actually fallen asleep. She asked in a low voice, "Then tell me, where is the direction to the town?"
"It's just ten miles away from Dongcun, you'll see it when you get there... Stop arguing, I'm going to sleep..." Huo Tong muttered.
Gu Liyan smiled slightly, "Alright, you go to sleep, I'll go for a walk around town."
Huo Tong said "Oh" and went back to sleep.
Gu Liyan tiptoed away.
After leaving the village, Gu Liyan ran towards the town at an extraordinary speed, arriving in Changping Town in less than ten minutes.
"Is this it?" Gu Liyan walked towards Changping Town when she suddenly saw flames shooting into the sky ahead, accompanied by the sounds of fighting. Gu Liyan immediately became alert and cautiously walked inside.
When I got out onto the street, the fighting had ended, leaving only lifeless corpses. The people who died looked horribly horrified, as if they had been frightened.
Looking at them, Gu Liyan felt a pang of regret. "If I had arrived a step earlier, it seems I could have saved them. Really..."
Just then...
"You damned bastards from the Great Serpent Kingdom, I will never let you go, even if it kills me!" a woman's voice screamed in anguish.
Two snake-like beings, half-snakes, were seen dragging a girl who looked to be only twenty years old out of a restaurant.
"Sisi~ The women of the Dragon Kingdom have such big tempers!" A snake-man, half-snake, spoke, flicking his long tongue.
"Hehe~ It's alright, our Great Serpent Kingdom is the best at training you!" another nodded and said.
"Let me go! Help!" the woman cried out urgently.
"Hee hee~ The whole town has been taken over by the ten of us brothers, even if you scream your lungs out, no one will listen... Ah!" The snake man was halfway through his sentence when he felt a pain in the back of his head and fainted.
The snake-man standing nearby was startled and turned around to look. "Sss~ Who is it..." He had barely finished saying the word "man" when he was knocked unconscious by a hammer.
The girl stared blankly at the two snake-men lying on the ground, looking around in confusion. Suddenly, she noticed a handsome young man in a white shirt standing not far away, holding... a brick?!
Gu Liyan threw down the brick in his hand and went to the girl. "Are you alright?"
Wang Qi looked at Gu Liyan with a lovestruck expression and exclaimed, "Wow, he's so handsome!"
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now," Gu Liyan said, walking towards the hospital not far away.
Wang Qi was stunned. Seeing him walk away and kick the two snake-men on the ground, she hurriedly followed, "Little brother, wait for me!"
Gu Liyan searched around for a hospital, paying no attention to Wang Qi who was following him.
"Young man, you must be a recent graduate from the city, right? I'm from the city too. You must have heard of me, Wang Qi, the daughter of a noble family, right?" Wang Qi followed behind Gu Liyan and said, "Thanks to you just now, otherwise I would definitely have been captured by those two snake people!"
Gu Liyan frowned and glanced at Wang Qi. "Keep your voice down, or you'll attract their attention."
Wang Qi covered her mouth, but still couldn't help asking in a low voice, "Little brother, you still haven't told me your name!"
"My name is Mo Li," Gu Liyan said, turning around before continuing to walk forward.

"Don't bother me. I need to go back to the village to save people after I find the medicine," Gu Liyan said impatiently, pulling her hand away.
Seeing that Gu Liyan ignored her, Wang Qi stomped her feet in anger, "This rigid idiot, can't he see how beautiful I am!"
