When Steward Lin returned from the Prince's Mansion, he was about to check on Gu Liyan when he found the secret room empty, with only red bloodstains on the floor as proof that he had been there.
"This kid still has the strength to run away. Looks like the torture wasn't enough!" Butler Lin said coldly, narrowing his eyes. "Just wait until I find you and I'll deal with you!"
Butler Lin inspected all the exits but found no trace.
"Where did that kid go? Could it be... that he went to the room leading to Liu Changxian?" Butler Lin wondered, but immediately dismissed the idea. "Even if he went to Liu Changxian's, she wouldn't take him in because she doesn't like being with men. Besides, I just came back from there..."

Seeing Gu Liyan's pale face and constant coughing, Liu Changxian subconsciously felt that he was faking it, so she turned her head away and said, "Steward Lin, there's no need to talk to him anymore. Just arrest him and send him to the Prince's Mansion!"
