Chapter 515, the final challenge

Soaking in salt water, Gu Liyan's wound felt like it was being torn apart, causing him to tremble with pain and break out in a cold sweat. He couldn't help but curse "Damn it," but he had no choice but to go down and find the key.

Diving underwater, Gu Liyan continued searching for the so-called "small but hard key".

Gu Liyan squinted and dived deeper. The water became more and more murky the deeper he went. Before long, Gu Liyan's eyes became sore and swollen. Coupled with the pain all over his body, he became extremely anxious.

Many keys had sunk to the bottom of the water. Gu Liyan noticed that many of the small keys were thin pieces, hardly worthy of being called "hard," and he didn't even glance at them before continuing his search.

The comments section now has new updates:

"Mo Li has been underwater for about 10 minutes, hasn't she?"

"I, Li, have unlocked a new skill!"

Gu Liyan searched for almost 20 minutes without success. Her body grew weaker and weaker, and she could no longer use her arms. Gu Liyan dared not be careless and hurriedly went up to catch her breath.

Gu Liyan climbed ashore, but could not bear the pain any longer and collapsed on the floor to rest. As soon as he came up, the wound on his back was stained red, and the pain was really intense.

Not only was Gu Liyan tormented by the pain from the wound on his back, but his body temperature was also rising continuously, making him feel extremely weak.

Come to think of it, after spending so much time in sub-zero temperatures and getting injured, it would be strange if he didn't catch a cold after soaking in this salt water for so long!

Gu Liyan frowned deeply. Only he could understand the pain he was feeling at this moment. Compared to excruciating pain, this discomfort was a kind of slow torture.

His consciousness was a little hazy, and Gu Liyan was really sleepy. He really wanted to just lie down and take a nap—so he slowly closed his eyes.

Seeing Gu Liyan with her eyes closed in the video on his phone, Mo Chen hurriedly said, "Mo Li, you idiot! You can't sleep!"

Hua Baixian and Gu Tao, who were standing nearby, also spoke up anxiously, "Hurry up and find Xiao Li, he can't hold on any longer!"

Mo Chen's face was gloomy as he dialed a number and urged, "You bunch of useless trash, haven't you found Mo Li's whereabouts yet?"

"Mr. Mo, we've checked all the warehouses and found nothing amiss. However, just now we discovered a summer camp site about ten kilometers from you, and the swimming pool there has a slightly different area than expected—"

Mo Chen hurriedly said, "Then what are we waiting for? Come pick me up right now and get to this outdoor summer camp base immediately!"

"yes!"

Mo Chen looked at Hua Baixian and Gu Tao and asked, "Do you two want to come with me?"

"Have you found Xiao Li's whereabouts?" Hua Baixian asked anxiously.

"Not sure, let's go look for it!" Mo Chen said, and walked out of the inn—Hua Baixian and Gu Tao followed without hesitation.

Gu Liyan drifted off to sleep and had a dream. In the dream, many fragmented scenes appeared. He saw Hua Baixian dancing gracefully in a pink dress. He saw Hua Baixian holding a peach blossom jade hairpin and looking at him happily. He also saw Hua Baixian leaning on his shoulder and saying things he couldn't hear...

Countless fragments of Hua Baixian flashed through his mind, yet he couldn't connect them. He wanted to grab Hua Baixian in his dream and ask her for clarification, but the scene shifted to a series of tragedies: fire, smoke, war, blood, resentment...

With each turn of the departing figure, Gu Liyan felt countless pains spreading through his heart, so intense that he couldn't help but burst into tears. Finally, as everything faded into darkness, Gu Liyan abruptly opened his eyes—

Tears and sweat mingled together. Gu Liyan covered her head, feeling as if she were being pricked by needles. The fragments in her mind lingered, and the pain in her heart was tormenting her.

He felt unwell all over, yet his heart ached terribly. He didn't know how to describe the pain he was experiencing; it was like being in death!

Gu Liyan suddenly remembered something. Xuan Tiandao's figure seemed very familiar. There seemed to be a fragment of his image in his mind, but he couldn't remember it for a moment.

Gu Liyan then recalled what Xuan Tiandao had said: if he couldn't get out within an hour, he would die here!

Gu Liyan gritted his teeth, knowing he couldn't waste any more time. Ignoring the torment of his body, he took a deep breath and plunged back down.

For some reason, Gu Liyan's vision broadened, and everything in front of him became clearer. He was surprised that he could even spot tiny grains of sand in the water.

However, he didn't think much of it. Maybe this was the potential that humans unleash at crucial moments!

Gu Liyan then focused her attention on everything in the water. Suddenly, a light flashed within the key—Gu Liyan swam over curiously and picked it up, only to find that it was actually a ring set with a perfectly cut diamond, which was the one that had just sparkled.

Thinking of the key's features, Gu Liyan's eyes lit up. This diamond was exactly a small but hard thing!

Overjoyed, Gu Liyan took the ring and swam up to the gate. She saw the long, narrow hole with a circle in the middle and, without hesitation, inserted the ring—it filled perfectly. Gu Liyan carefully and slowly rotated it—and then heard the door click open.

The comments section below has been refreshed again:

"I never expected this ring to be the key to the door. Wow, Mo Li is so clever!"

"I'm so confused, how come escape rooms are so easy these days? I've already completed more than half of it in just 30 minutes! I'm increasingly convinced that this escape room is fake! It's all pre-designed!"

"I agree with the comment above. Look, he was injured, how could he have stayed underwater for so long! I think the injury was staged! The production team couldn't possibly ignore the injury!"
