Yan Xiyue arrived at the Third Hospital. No matter what, she would not believe that Lin Momo was dead until she saw her body. However, she was told that Lin Momo's body had been taken away.
Yan Xiyue became even more suspicious that Lin Momo was not dead at all, and she decided to find someone to ask her the truth.
Arriving at the door of Dean Gao's office, she knocked and went inside. Dean Gao, recognizing Yan Xiyue, stood up and respectfully greeted her, "Hello, Ms. Yan, may I ask what brings you here?"
Dean Gao's indifference irritated Yan Xiyue, who coldly asked, "I just went down to check on Momo, and they said the body has been taken away. What happened?"
"Oh, it was taken away by the boss's father's men," Dean Gao said.
"Her father?" Yan Xiyue asked, puzzled. She had always assumed Lin Momo was an orphan. "Who is her father?"
"If you don't know, then we know even less," Dean Gao said with a smile. "But Ms. Yan can rest assured, the boss's future assets will all be yours."
Yan Xiyue's face immediately darkened, and she coldly said, "I don't care about her wealth!"
After saying that, Yan Xiyue got up and left, her eyes looking red.
After Yan Xiyue left, Dean Gao opened the door to the secret room. Lin Momo was sitting in a wheelchair watching the surveillance camera outside the room. She had seen everything Dean Gao and Yan Xiyue had done.
Although Lin Momo's face was pale, there was a smile on her lips. She knew what her death meant to Yan Xiyue. The behavior she had just seen in Yan Xiyue completely proved Yan Xiyue's true feelings for her—she loved her more than anyone else!
“Boss, your wife still cares about you a lot,” Dean Gao said softly.
Lin paused for a few seconds before speaking, "I know, but for her safety, it's better not to tell her..."
Dean Gao opened his mouth as if to say something, but Lin Momo coughed and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "Keep a close eye on everyone coming and going from the hospital. Things are going to get a little unsettled lately. Also, have Mo Li withdraw all her bodyguards."
Dean Gao had some doubts, but he still nodded and said, "Yes."
Gu Liyan's peaceful days did not last long. The next day, the police sent someone to keep an eye on Gu Liyan's every move. Coincidentally, the person sent was Li Hao.
“During your recovery, I will act as your bodyguard and will also look for suitable opportunities to ask you questions about this incident. I hope you can cooperate with the investigation,” Li Hao said in a serious tone.
Hua Baixian went to get food, while Gu Liyan and Li Hao stared at each other. Gu Liyan finally realized that Li Hao had not yet awakened his past memories, and sighed with some regret.
Li Hao said coldly, "If you are a suspect in any plot to assassinate you, please tell us everything and don't hide anything!"
Gu Liyan didn't say anything, but looked at him and asked, "Are you thirsty?"
"I'm not thirsty," Li Hao blurted out, then added irritably, "Please don't change the subject!"
Gu Liyan straightened up, feeling a bit of pain in her lower abdomen. She sat down weakly and pointed to the water bottle next to her. "Excuse me, I'm a little thirsty. Could you please pour me a glass of water?"
Li Hao frowned as he looked at Gu Liyan, whose face was pale. He admitted that Gu Liyan was very handsome, even beautiful. He usually wouldn't refuse a request from someone like that, so he obediently poured Gu Liyan a cup of hot water and handed it to him.
"Thank you, little mouse," Gu Liyan said with a smile as she took it.
"You're welcome," Li Hao blurted out again, then suddenly felt a sense of déjà vu about the scene. Coupled with Gu Liyan mentioning his nickname, he looked at Gu Liyan with a strange expression, "You...know me?"
Gu Liyan took a sip of water, looked at Li Hao, and said with a smile, "It's only our second meeting."
Hearing Gu Liyan's words, Li Hao frowned. "You know my nickname. Have you investigated me?"
Gu Liyan was both amused and exasperated by Li Hao's wariness. "I'm not a secret agent, why would I investigate you?"
"Then why..."
"It's just that you feel very familiar to me, and there's a sense of warmth in you, so I blurted out the name I remembered." Gu Liyan smiled gently. "Perhaps we knew each other in a past life."
Li Hao looked at Gu Liyan and said coldly, "So this is how the big star Mo Li deals with people?"
Gu Liyan smiled but didn't say anything. At this moment, Hua Baixian returned and came in with food. "Xiao Tao knows you want to eat light food and was worried that the cafeteria food wouldn't suit your taste, so she specially made breakfast and brought it over."
Gu Liyan smiled and nodded. "Where is he? Why hasn't he come in?"
“Lin Momo’s bodyguards have left, and there are many more reporters outside. Xiao Tao was worried that it would attract attention, so she left,” Hua Baixian said.
"It's unfair to him," Gu Liyan said with a guilty expression.
Hua Baixian smiled and said, "Xiao Tao is very sensible; he won't care about these things."
Li Hao was completely baffled. Who was Xiao Tao? Out of politeness, Li Hao didn't ask.
After dinner, Li Hao finally seized the opportunity to take out his notebook and start taking notes, and asked, "Mo Li, please explain about the escape room incident. Who invited you to participate?"
Hua Baixian frowned. Gu Liyan's injuries haven't healed yet and he needs to rest. Why is Li Hao so heartless?
Just as Hua Baixian was about to speak up and accuse him, Gu Liyan smiled and said, "If I said I was kidnapped and that person wanted me to die in a secret room, would you believe me?"
Li Hao was taken aback upon hearing this, forgetting to record Gu Liyan's words. He immediately spoke up, "Mo Li, don't even think about covering for anyone! Your escape room adventure has already caused a negative impact and has been banned across the entire internet, so you'd better tell the truth!"
Gu Liyan frowned slightly. He knew that the misunderstandings about him could not be easily dispelled. Even if he said that he had been kidnapped by Xuan Tiandao, no one would believe him.
