Gu Liyan was slightly taken aback. "Uncle-Master, is Momo alright?"
“I had Gu Cheng bring her back. If she stays outside any longer, she might become so weak that she’ll be at the mercy of others, and then you’ll lose another helper!” Gu Li said angrily.
"What?" Gu Liyan was startled and hurriedly asked, "Uncle-Master, what exactly happened to Momo?"
Gu Li recounted Lin Momo's physical condition, and Hua Baixian, who was standing nearby, was shocked. Thinking of the people Lin Momo had been in contact with recently, she immediately said with certainty, "It must be Li Jin who tampered with her medicine!"
Gu Liyan clenched his fists inwardly: If it weren't for my uncle's timely discovery, and if something had happened to Lin Momo, I would be the culprit who put her in danger.
"Xiao Li, I don't care who you were friends with in the past, or how many enemies are watching you now. What you must understand now is that if you are soft-hearted, they will devour you completely and leave you with nothing!" Gu Li's words struck Gu Liyan's heart hard.
But what about Gu Liyan? He knew this principle, but he was filled with hatred and unable to take revenge on anyone.
Gu Liyan subconsciously tightened his grip on Hua Baixian's hand. He had originally thought that as long as he was with Hua Baixian, he could remain untainted and not have to care about the struggles of others.
But now it seems he wants to stay away from this silent struggle, but how many people around him can he protect? He doesn't even know that Lin Momo has been framed right under his nose!
Hua Baixian noticed the guilty look on Gu Liyan's face and comforted him by calling his name, "Xiao Li."
Gu Li sighed, "Xiao Li, you need to be prepared. There are some things that neither of you can escape."
...Lin Momo had verified the ominous signs many times, but this time it was resolved so easily by the ancient calendar. Was there really no other reason?
While she was lying in the hospital bed lost in thought, the door suddenly opened, and Lin Momo looked up with a bright smile and said, "You two were found too?"
Gu Liyan and Hua Baixian walked in hand in hand. When they came to Lin Momo, Gu Liyan said apologetically, "Momo, I'm sorry for leaving you there alone. I blame myself for trusting the wrong person and almost getting you into trouble."
Lin Momo shook her head. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."
Hua Baixian held Lin Momo's hand, looked her over, and said with concern, "You, why have you lost weight again? Have you not been eating well lately?"
"Because I'm lying in bed and not moving around, it's normal for me to lose weight since I'm eating less. Don't worry about me, Uncle just said I can be discharged tomorrow," Lin Momo said with a smile.
"That's good." Hua Baixian breathed a sigh of relief.
Looking at Lin Momo's pale face, Gu Liyan always felt that she was putting on a brave face.
They had just sat down to chat when Gu Tao, hearing that Gu Liyan and Hua Baixian had returned, rushed in with Xiao Ying.
"Father, Mother!" Gu Tao threw herself into Hua Baixian's arms. "Little Tao missed you so much!"
Hua Baixian's heart melted, and she hugged Gu Tao with tears in her eyes, "Little Tao, Mother misses you too!"
Gu Liyan smiled slightly at the mother and son, then suddenly looked up and saw Xiao Ying, who was the same age as Gu Tao. He immediately smiled and said, "Xiao Tao, why don't you introduce your friend?"
Gu Tao blushed instantly and pointed to Xiao Tao, introducing her as "Xiao Tao."
Xiao Tao knew that Gu Liyan and Hua Baixian were Gu Tao's father and mother, and immediately bowed in a panic, saying, "Greetings, Head of the Family and Head of the Family."
"Are you Sakura? You're so cute!" Hua Baixian said with a smile.
Gu Liyan suddenly remembered something and said to Hua Baixian, "You take them out to play first, I need to talk to Momo for a bit."
Hua Baixian nodded and left with Gu Tao and Xiao Ying.
Gu Liyan closed the door and looked at Lin Momo with a serious expression. He said, "Momo, tell me about the changes in your eyes."
Lin Momo was slightly taken aback, then nodded and recounted the entire process of how her eyesight had progressed from blindness to its current state.
Gu Liyan stroked his chin thoughtfully, "As expected, external factors can be quite dangerous during a second awakening."
Lin Momo looked at Gu Liyan with a puzzled expression. "Brother Mo, is there a problem?"
"No, it's nothing. Who knows about your eye problem?" Gu Liyan asked.
“Now that we have you, Martial Uncle, and Yue, she should know a little bit too.” Lin Momo’s expression changed slightly when she mentioned Yan Xiyue.
Gu Liyan nodded. "Don't let a fourth person know about this."
"What's wrong?" Lin Momo sensed the seriousness of the problem.
Gu Liyan shook his head with a solemn expression. "I'm not sure yet, so I can't tell you."
Lin Momo knew that there were some things Gu Liyan couldn't say, so she nodded and said, "Yes, I understand."
News reports indicate that "flu" outbreaks are occurring around the world, causing widespread panic. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, authorities immediately issued lockdown and quarantine orders.
Shops were closed, and the streets were deserted; the once bustling city was now eerily quiet.
Dean Gao received a package early in the morning. When he opened it, he found a combination lock box containing nearly a hundred reagent bottles.
He knew this was the only way to resolve the current situation, and without any hesitation, he secretly began the experiment on the patient with the most severe condition...
The morning sun was shining brightly as Lin Momo took off her hospital gown, finally freeing herself from the torment of her illness.
"Although you can be discharged, you still need to take your medication on time during this period. Also, remember not to get angry," Gu Li said with a serious expression.
Lin Momo nodded obediently, "I understand, Uncle, you've been nagging all morning."
Gu Li tapped Lin Momo's head irritably, "You brat, do you think I want to talk nonsense? It's all because you don't listen to me!"
