Gu Liyan and Hua Baixian entered the basement. Gu Liyan took out his phone for light, and as they walked inside, they both sensed a faint smell of blood. Gu Liyan subconsciously tightened his grip on Hua Baixian's hand, his unease growing stronger.
"He's here."
Just then, Hua Yuxian's voice came from not far away. Gu Liyan and Hua Baixian looked at each other in surprise, and the two walked over cautiously.
Blood was everywhere underfoot, a horrifying sight. Gu Liyan saw Mo Chen lying in a pool of blood, a steel pipe inserted into his chest, but the bleeding had stopped.
"Mo Chen!" Gu Liyan exclaimed and rushed over to check, only to find that Mo Chen's body was cold and lifeless.
Gu Liyan's expression changed drastically. "How could this be? How could Mo Chen be dead?"
They were talking on the phone just an hour ago, how could he have died in the blink of an eye? Gu Liyan felt no hatred towards Mo Chen. In comparison, Mo Chen had given everything to him, and the desolate and lonely figure before leaving made him feel heartbroken.
True friends are hard to find in life, and Mo Chen was one of them. Now that he has died under mysterious circumstances, Gu Liyan is truly heartbroken.
Hua Baixian saw Hua Yuxian hiding in the corner, frowned, and asked, "Did you kill him?"

Gu Liyan was slightly surprised. "You mean Yin and Yang? How come he's here..."
However, remembering that Mo Chen had told him before his death that he knew about the internal strife in the Nine Springs Realm, he hurriedly asked, "Leaving aside Yin and Yang, do you know why Mo Chen was killed? And who killed him?"
Hua Yuxian raised her head to look at Gu Liyan, her gaze suddenly turning icy cold as she spoke, "Besides you, Gu Liyan, who else has the ability to harm him?"
Gu Liyan was shocked upon hearing this. "What? Me? What do you mean by this?"
“Xiao Li has always been with me, how could she possibly harm Mo Chen!” Hua Baixian defended Gu Liyan.
"Believe it or not, see for yourself!" Hua Yuxian said angrily, throwing a book at her.
Gu Liyan hurriedly caught the book. There were still traces of Mo Chen's blood on it. Gu Liyan subconsciously felt that this was something Mo Chen had desperately protected. Without hesitation, she started reading it by the light of her phone.
The more Gu Liyan read, the more horrified he became. His hands trembled uncontrollably, and he muttered to himself, "How could this be? How could this be?"
Seeing that Gu Liyan's expression was off, Hua Baixian hurriedly asked, "Little Li, what's written on it?"
Gu Liyan turned to the last page, and instead of immediately answering Hua Baixian, he looked at Hua Yuxian and asked, "Is what's written here true?"
