The cold palace was built entirely of ice and snow. Gu Liyan walked into the modern city of Li with an umbrella.
Gu Liyan walked toward the ice coffin made of black ice in the center of the main hall.
Inside the ice coffin lay a young girl in a pink dance dress, her beauty breathtaking, sleeping peacefully...
Putting the umbrella aside, Gu Liyan's slightly pale face showed signs of fatigue. "Xiao Bai, I'm back... Were you lonely being alone in Licheng?"
As he spoke, Gu Liyan gently stroked Su Xian'er's forehead and said with a smile, "Sorry to have kept you waiting so long..."
All that tenderness in his eyes was for one person; every time Gu Liyan returned, there was only one reason…

Just then, unhurried footsteps came from outside the door. Gu Liyan raised his head slightly and looked out the door. He saw a young man playing with a paper fan in his hand, his eyes showing a hint of helplessness and loneliness as he walked into the main hall of Licheng.
Mo Chen came to Gu Liyan's side, and Gu Liyan immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Without saying a word, she lay straight on the ground and closed her eyes to rest.
"Don't let your guard down just because it's me," Mo Chen said with a slight smile.
"It's rare that you still remember me, this fox demon. I thought you had perished in the chaotic wilderness after not appearing for so long..." Gu Liyan tugged at the corners of his mouth, his smile somewhat weak.
Mo Chen didn't say where he had been these past few days, but he glanced at Su Xian'er in the ice coffin, then at the dying Gu Liyan, and frowned, becoming somewhat angry. "Do you think I'm like you? To prevent the dead body from decaying, you'd even disregard your own life? You're utterly foolish!"
Gu Liyan gave a bitter smile, not responding to his words, but staring blankly at the ceiling, and softly said, "I know it was your disciple who saved my life. I shouldn't have wasted this hard-won life force, but a few days ago I went to find Li Nezha, and he was dead..."
Mo Chen paused, his fingers gripping the paper fan turning slightly white.
Gu Liyan squinted and smiled faintly, "Heh, the human race is really fragile. Even if they embark on the path of cultivation, they are still like ants."
Mo Chen didn't say anything, or perhaps he had already guessed that this would be the outcome...
Gu Liyan slowly sat up, leaned against the ice coffin, tilted her head and looked at Mo Chen with a smile, and lazily said, "Mo Chen, are you here to stop me?"
Looking into Gu Liyan's eyes, which seemed to see through everything, Mo Chen suddenly smiled, then turned to look at Su Xian'er with extreme sarcasm, "What am I stopping you from? Everything you've done is meaningless, isn't it?"
Gu Liyan's pupils contracted, his smile vanished instantly, and he spoke with displeasure and anger, "You don't understand me..."
"You say I don't understand you, but have you ever understood others? When Mei Meier died, all I could do was accept my fate. I didn't even think about changing anything, or what I could change." Mo Chen said softly, "Perhaps I could change things, but what good would that do? She still can't come back, and we still can't be together forever."
Gu Liyan stared blankly at him, then looked at the still-sleeping Su Xian'er, and suddenly felt a lump in her throat. "Why are you only telling me this now? My sins can never be redeemed!"
“Gu Liyan, you did nothing wrong. This is just cause and effect!” Mo Chen shook his head and said with a solemn expression.
"What bullshit cause and effect! I...I..." Gu Liyan lowered his head, not daring to look at Su Xian'er.
His obsession, his destiny, were all for her, but... but she died! He could do nothing but live with hatred in his heart, suffering every moment of pain!
"Gu Liyan, let go!" Mo Chen said with some reluctance, looking at the pained expression on Su Xian'er's face. "Su Xian'er doesn't want to linger on this relationship because she has chosen to let go.
