Chapter 53: Did you figure it out?

Several staff members who had started families did not expect that Yang Fengrong, who was usually so high and mighty, would also encounter such troublesome things as coaxing children after returning to his family as a father.

The female reporter didn't know what was going on. She just saw the way everyone looked at her as if she had seen some horrifying scene. One of the leaders quickly wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and trotted over to give his closing remarks.

After the reporters left, Zhou Haibo came to Yang Fengrong's office.

Zhou Haibo thought that he had come at a really bad time. A fledgling reporter in front of him asked the wrong question. He waited for a while, and Yang Fengrong just answered a phone call. When he came back, he picked up the documents on the table.

"Fukang did a good job on this matter."

This report was well-written and clean, and the allegations of illegal sales, profiteering and market disruption were firmly established. The evidence was irrefutable, and no one would dare to help Fu Kang no matter how strong his connections were.

Zhou Haibo felt relieved. Thanks to this report, those who had tried to trip him up were probably finished.

"Those people over there planned everything, but they never expected to be caught in a trap caused by one of their own people's greed. Secretary Yang, this incident was done by a young man under TEDA. I think he's quite good. He's smart, thoughtful, and resourceful."

"It's really not easy for someone so young to have such a thorough and careful mind."

Hearing Yang Fengrong say this, Zhou Haibo followed his lead and introduced him: "Secretary Yang, I originally wanted to give him a try. Since he's doing well, I think he needs more experience at such a young age. Why not transfer him to Tianyu?"

Yang Fengrong didn't say anything, just said that it would be good to give young people more opportunities to exercise, and let Zhou Haibo arrange it himself.

Coming out of Yang Fengrong's office, Zhou Haibo couldn't help but sigh, "This Qin Ge, this path has been the right one! He's caught Yang Fengrong's eye, and his future is limitless."

The demon following Zhou Haibo frowned slightly: "Don't you think Qin Ge and Madam Yang have some similarities in their features?"

"Oh?" Zhou Haibo didn't understand for a moment: "You mean them?"

The secretary thought for a moment and said, "When I first saw Qin Ge at Zhonghe, I thought he looked familiar. Just now, after hearing what that reporter said, it suddenly dawned on me. It turns out I've sorted through Secretary Yang's files, and there's a photo of his wife in it. Does Qin Ge look a bit like Mrs. Yang when she was younger?"

Zhou Haibo narrowed his eyes slightly, thought about it, and then said, "Impossible. It's not like we haven't looked for the child yet. Didn't the villagers say that the child was dead?"

The secretary was just guessing, and after hearing what his leader said, he felt that he was worrying too much.

"Director Zhou, that must be a coincidence."

Zhou Haibo waved his hand: "Don't mention this matter anymore."

The secretary nodded, and the two of them got in the car. Zhou Haibo's heart was restless for a long time. When he was about to get off, he suddenly said to the secretary, "I remember Qin Ge is from Qingshui, right? Go check who his parents are in his hometown, and if he has any other relatives. Are they still alive?"

The secretary was stunned for a moment and nodded in agreement.

The weather had been sunny for the past few days. Shengxia sat on the sofa, lost in thought, wondering where Qin Ge's mother had gone to. Was she still alive? How anxious would she be if she couldn't find her child after returning?

Shengxia felt a little uncomfortable thinking about this. No matter how useless she was, her grandmother always treated her like her sweetheart. Only Qin Ge was an outsider to him. Perhaps she was the only person in his heart.

Thinking of this, Shengxia wanted to make something delicious for Qin Ge to comfort him, so she went downstairs to buy some vegetables. Shengxia carried the chicken that the boss had just killed.

She even specifically asked the boss how to make stir-fried chicken and wrote it down in a small notebook.

When she got home, Shengxia tied on an apron and was about to show off her skills, but she unexpectedly failed at the first level. The sight of the plucked chicken skin made her feel sick. She chopped it several times, but the bones didn't break. Instead, spots of scarlet blood splashed all over her body.

Shengxia couldn't help vomiting. She had seen Qin Ge handle it before and it didn't seem difficult. Shengxia gritted her teeth and chopped it down. With a "bang", Shengxia was stunned. She tried to grab the handle of the knife, but couldn't pull it out from the chopping board. When Qin Ge came back in the evening, she saw Shengxia lying on the table alone, looking listless.

"Xia Xia?"

Qin Ge was so frightened that he sobered up and quickly turned on the light. Without even changing his shoes, he went to see her and asked, "What's wrong with you?"

Qin Ge was about to carry her to the hospital when Sheng Xia quickly stopped him, "I'm not feeling unwell, I'm just hungry. Qin Ge, I'm almost fainting from hunger. Why do you smell so much like alcohol?"

"I had a few drinks with the boss."

Qin Ge looked at the water cup on the table and frowned immediately: "Isn't there money in the drawer? Why don't you eat downstairs before coming back?"

"I wanted to make something delicious for you, and even asked the boss how to make chicken, but who knew that the first step would go wrong..."

Shengxia pointed weakly towards the kitchen and said, "What a rotten cutting board you bought! The knife is stuck on it and can't be pulled out. It's stuck tightly."

Qin Ge turned and went to the kitchen. Sheng Xia's head was resting on the table. After a while, she heard the sound of the water being turned on and flushed. "Did you get it out?"

Qin Ge wiped his hands clean and squatted down to examine his hands. He turned them over and over, checking every finger. There were no wounds. His frown finally relaxed a little: "You haven't had a moment of leisure all day."

"Isn't it because I want to cook for you?" Shengxia was unwilling. It was so rare for her to go to the kitchen, and Qin Ge really took her kindness for granted!

"Why did you suddenly think of doing this?"

Qin Ge didn't plan to let Shengxia cook. In his eyes, Shengxia didn't have to do these things. If Shengxia did, he would have to worry more and worry about whether Shengxia would hurt herself. He had very low expectations for Shengxia, as long as she was obedient.

But in fact, this is the most difficult thing in Shengxia's eyes, even more difficult than asking her to roast another chicken.

Shengxia's temper flared up again, and she said, "I don't want to talk anymore. I'm hungry."

Shengxia's stomach growled. It was already past nine in the evening. Qin Ge said, "Let's go out and eat."

The two of them found a small restaurant downstairs that was still open. After eating, Qin Ge took Shengxia to a fruit shop and picked some of Shengxia's favorite fruits.

Shengxia took the fruit that the boss had packed for her and ate it sweetly, watching Qin Ge making and answering calls in front of her. She didn't know how Qin Ge had so many things to deal with in a day. She was afraid that Qin Ge was too tired, but sometimes she felt that she could not help.
