Chapter 1098 Landing
Cairo, Egypt.
When the plane arrived at Cairo International Airport, the sun was shining brightly outside.
Nie Yao rubbed her brows. Even though she was sitting first class, she still hadn't slept well on the plane. She kept having strange dreams...
Seeing that she was listless, Li Jinxing stroked her hair and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Did you not sleep well?"
"Yeah, I didn't sleep well..." Nie Yao responded softly.
"After all, this flight took quite a while. I'll go back to the hotel later and get a good night's sleep to get over the jet lag..."
Li Jinxing said something soothing in a soft voice, and Nie Yao nodded silently. Seeing that the plane had stopped steadily, she turned on her phone and a bunch of missed calls popped up.
She was stunned and found that the missed calls included those from Butler Lu, her father, and her junior Steve.
Seeing that both her father and Butler Lu had called her, Nie Yao couldn't help feeling a little uneasy and frowned slightly.
"What's wrong?" Li Jinxing saw her expression change, and quickly lowered his head and asked with concern.
Before Nie Yao could answer him, her junior Steve called again. She quickly answered the call and heard Steve on the other end of the line anxiously asking, "Senior, have you arrived? I've been waiting for you at the airport!"
Nie Yao was stunned for a moment, then asked in amusement, "Steve, you actually came to Cairo Airport to wait for me?"
"That's right, senior sister, your safety is the most important thing. I've talked to Professor Fred about this, and he agrees that I should come pick you up personally!"
Steve on the other end of the phone nodded and explained with a smile, "And this time we're escorted by two police officers. I'll be waiting for you at Exit 2!"
"Okay, we'll be there soon..." Nie Yao nodded with a smile.
Steve on the other end of the phone raised his eyebrows in surprise: "You guys? Senior sister, you didn't come here alone?"
"Well, Li Jinxing is here too..." Nie Yao turned her head to glance at Li Jinxing beside her, her tone somewhat helpless.
"What? Mr. Li is here too?" Steve was a little surprised at first, but then a smile appeared in his voice. "That's good. It seems Mr. Li is worried about you, Senior Sister, so he came along. That's good too. It'll be more lively with more people..."
Nie Yao burst out laughing and chatted with Steve for a few words before hanging up the phone. She jokingly said to Li Jinxing, "Look, you're more popular than me. Steve was so happy when he heard you were here too!"
Li Jinxing raised his lips slightly, held Nie Yao's shoulders, and said with a low laugh: "You, my junior, are a sensible young man..."
Nie Yao shook her head in amusement. Steve was not only tactful, but also very good at reading people's expressions. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to please her adoptive father and Li Jinxing so much!
After Nie Yao and Li Jinxing got off the plane, they picked up their luggage together, met their junior Steve at the exit, and then got in the car together.
The car was an off-road vehicle borrowed by Steve, and there was still a police car escorting it in front. They left Cairo and headed for their destination, which was the Luxor Hotel where the archaeological team had stayed before.
Steve was extremely excited. As soon as he saw Nie Yao and Li Jinxing, he started talking about some recent archaeological events...
Li Jinxing listened very patiently. Nie Yao was still thinking about the missed calls from her father and Butler Lu. She picked up the phone to check the messages again and saw the message from her father.
"Ayao, your grandpa fell at home and was sent to the hospital. I'll rush to the hospital first and tell you if there's any new news!"
