Chapter 1118: Separate Searches
Without waiting for the archaeologists to refuse, Li Jinxing added, "Even if something happens to me, I won't hold you responsible. On behalf of my sponsors, I beg you to let me go down with you!"
The archaeologist thought for a moment, and seeing that Li Jinxing had made up his mind, he could only nod helplessly. He gave Li Jinxing the prepared anti-insect powder to carry with him, tied the rope for him, and gave him a torch.
Seeing that Li Jinxing was about to go down, the natives could not bear to see their prince take risks, so they immediately applied to go down and rescue people.
Li Jinxing went down with the archaeologist from Nie Yao's team. The indigenous people who were part of the team also went down together and walked into the dark cave.
The archaeological team took out several small flares and threw them on the ground, instantly lighting up the environment inside.
Li Jinxing looked around and saw that the cave had several exits leading to all directions. He didn't know where Nie Yao had gone at this time, or whether she had gotten separated from Steve. He could only call out tentatively, "Yaoyao, where are you? If you hear me, call me back!"
The sound sounded very clear in the cave, and even had an echo, but there was no response from Nie Yao.
"Mr. Li, I think we have to look for it separately..." The archaeologist looked around the surrounding environment and suggested to Li Jinxing in a deep voice.
Li Jinxing also nodded in agreement and whispered, "Alright, let's split up and look for it, and then meet back here to avoid getting separated!"
Under the arrangement of Li Jinxing and the archaeological team member, everyone divided into three groups and headed in different directions to search for people.
The chief of the indigenous people personally led the group, and some other skilled indigenous people also followed Li Jinxing to protect the safety of their prince.
Seeing that Li Jin was walking a little fast, the natives could only stretch out their hands to gesture and persuade him to slow down.
However, they couldn't understand each other's language. Li Jinxing also understood their concerns and whispered, "I'll be careful. You don't have to worry about me. Finding Nie Yao is the most important thing!"
At the insistence of this group of indigenous people, Li Jinxing did not walk in front, but walked among them, lighting up the way with a flashlight and calling Nie Yao's name.
The group had been walking for an unknown amount of time when they suddenly heard a slight noise. The leader stopped and whispered, "There's movement—"
Several other natives also whispered a few words, and the leader prepared to go and check it out first.
Li Jinxing also pricked up his ears to listen to the movement in front of him. He seemed to hear someone talking. His eyes immediately lit up and he asked loudly: "Yaoyao, is that you? Steve?"
There seemed to be a response from the front, but it was not clear. Li Jinxing immediately stepped forward and continued to ask, "Yaoyao, Steve?"
After a moment, a male voice came into Li Jinxing's ears intermittently: "Mr. Li? Is that Mr. Li?"
"It's me!" Li Jinxing answered immediately after hearing this. He felt that the voice seemed to be Steve's, and he quickly said, "We are coming!"
After he said this, he gestured to several natives. A group of people nodded in understanding and quickened their pace towards the direction where the sound came from.
"Found it!" The leading aboriginal shouted, and the others immediately became alert and walked over to protect Li Jinxing.
